"writing": "Chapter 35: Wandaline the Teen-aged Witch.\n\nIn a room Fernando would consider as dark, a lone figure works on a desk: A Mac iBook laptop that has seen better days, a beaker bubbling away held over a burning alcohol lamp, and several opened jars of who knows what littered about the desk.\n\n“Lets see…. eye of newt… Uhm… where is that eye of newt?”, a hand picks up one of the small jars, and an eye looking into it. The contents of the beaker begins to smoke, setting off the smoke alarm.\n\nThe door to the room violently swings open, crashing against the wall hard and loud as an adult white squirrel rushes into the room with a CO2 fire extinguisher, spraying the fire killing gas onto the desk.\n\n“Wandaline! That’s The Sixth Time This Week You Smoked Up House! Why Can You Be A Normal Girl And Chase After Boys Or Go Read One Of Those Romance Novels And Feel Yourself Up! I Swear!!!”, the adult white squirrel yells at her.\n\n“There is only one boy worthy of taking my heart and he is no longer in New York…”, Wandaline says.\n\n“Well, if you did not dressed up like you just stepped off the Mayflower… Girl… I buy you nice and pretty clothes. Cant at least you wear something respectable for the Mendez Funeral? Please? If not for you or me, at least for them? Please?”, the adult white squirrel says and asks.\n\n“I’ll try, mother…”, Wandaline answers.\n\n“You got two hours. Now go wash up, you smell like your failed experiment… what were you trying to do anyways?”, her mother tries to say.\n\n“You would not understand…”, Wandaline started say.\n\nThe mother looks over the ruined contents of Wandaline’s desk. “Looks like you were trying to make portal keys. You know the dangers of dealing with powers you don’t yet understand! Have you even read your spell book at least?”, her mother tells her.\n\n“Everything is on the Internet, mom.”, Wandaline tries to answer.\n\n“The Internet is not a proven source of information. Your spell book is! All those typos and \ndeliberate mistakes on the WikiMagic website is going to get somebody killed! Now go read the book before you try this again… And take a shower now!”, her mother tells her some more.\n\n“Mom?”, Wandaline started to ask.\n\n“Yes…?”, her mother answers in question.\n\n“I’m all out of eye-of-newt.”, Wandaline says to her.\n\n“That’s another thing… make sure you have all the ingredients before starting out on a spell…”, her mother tells her. Wandaline sadly looks at her. “Alright. I’ll see what I can do.”\n\nThe mother looks about the room, shaking her head at what she sees, especially about the desk.\n\n“Go to the bathroom and shower up until your fur is a white as mine.”, the mother sternly tells Wandaline.\n\n“But mom, I’m a grey squirrel…”, Wandaline tries to tell her.\n\n“You’re grey because your are dabbing in both dark and white magic, and you need to stop that before you turn black! I did not give birth to a girl to watch her turn evil against the world!”, her mother tells her. “Now get into that shower before I send you back to where came from!”\n\nWandaline starts to walk to the bathroom, saying to herself, “I doubt I will ever fit back into your womb again, mother…”\n\n“What did not you say?”, her mother yells down the hall as the bathroom door slams closed. Wandaline does not answer her as she turns on the shower to let the water get to its right temperature and starts taking off her clothes.\n\nShe looks at herself at the mirror above the bathroom sink, then at her naked self. The tiny room begins to fill up with steam. She continues to think before stepping into the shower.\n\nWandaline’s natural colour is off white, a couple of shades off from her mother’s bright white, though some would consider it light grey. Thus the differences between her mother seeing her as white and her seeing herself as grey seems to be on a much broader field of discussion than any argument of politics, religion or war. Thus what is a mother to do?\n\nGrandmother is respective of all cultures, since the great war exposed her to many of the world’s nationalities, communities and cultures. Ideas not generally accepted by one group of people are for others, this she learned very early on. Witchcraft, Voodoo, Santeria, and the Kabala are ideas she learned that are accepted by some and not by others. She herself invested such ideas to see what truths she could find, and found usable knowledge not found anyplace else. Thus she learned of to find who is real and who is false in this realm. Mother on the other hand wanted to learn how to manipulate friends and influence people, thus her learning of the mystic arts was rather short and limited to parlor tricks and magic shows. Though such knowledge ends with her generation, through Wandaline Fernando has learned a few things he would rather leave alone.\n\nThough the suds rinse off her body with a dark grey colour, Wandaline stands under the pouring shower, letting the water hit the back of her neck and down her back. Her mind goes through recent history to see where she went wrong, though there is nothing wrong she did. Fernando’s family left on their own accord and not by his choosing. Her mind seem to follow the bubbles as they circle the drain several times before falling in.\n\n“Aren’t you in most of my classes?”, she says to him, her mind falling back into a memory from a year before. In her mind she sits down on a bench of the lunchroom table, putting her try of food down. Across from her was Fernando, feeling his food with his spork.\n\n“Aren’t you in third period Math, second period English, sixth period Science…”, she seems to ramble on.\n\n“I don’t know who you are.”, Fernando tells her.\n\n“I’m the quiet one who sits two seats away from you most classes because both our last names start with the letter G.”, she tries to tell him.\n\n“A lot of girls have a G in their last name. Look, no disrespect, but I prefer a quiet lunch period… alone.”, he tells her.\n\n“I also live in the building next to yours…”, she started to say before she was interrupted.\n\n“Well, well… looks who’s here for another year…”, a deeper voice says beside them. Fernando recognizes it as Alfonzo’s voice, and he was not alone as several others laughed behind him. “Mary not good enough anymore that you need to be with a freak?”\n\nThough the cafeteria turns quiet, the patter of several feet runs towards them.\n\n“GET AWAY FROM HIM!”, a female voice shouts out from behind them. It is followed with just as many more girls saying, “Yeah!”\n\nAlfonzo turns around looking at the group behind him and his fellow gang members, seeing them outnumbered by a several more girls. He nods at his group, “Lets go… there is nothing here.”\n\nThe girls remain as Alfonzo and his friends leave the immediate area of the cafeteria. Some gather their lunches and sit in the surrounding tables around Fernando and Wandaline, creating a buffer zone around them. One girl in particular sits right next to Fernando. She looks at the other right across from her.\n\n“Cathy… I want to be left alone.”, Fernando tells her.\n\n“I’m not going to ask how you know it was me…”, Cathy starts to tell him.\n\n“You smell like Dove soap, baby powder and your mom’s perfume. That’s how I know.”, he interrupts her.\n\n“Why, I never… And who is thi… wait… you’re that freak Wandaline… Aren’t you?”, Cathy says in broken sentences.\n\n“I’m not a freak…”, Wandaline tells her.\n\n“Yes You Are…. Haven’t You Looked At Yourself!”, Cathy says on the verge of yelling, “You Got Black Hair But White Fur! No Albino Has That Combination!”\n\n“I’m Not An Albino!”, Wandaline almost yells at her.\n\n“Sure you aint… your fur is as white as mine…”, Cathy lowers her tone.\n\n“I’m a grey squirrel with a very light grey fur colour. I’m not an albino like you.”, Wandaline tells her.\n\n“Yeah right…”, Cathy says. “Anyways… Fernando, looks like they are going to start against you again this year.”\n\nWithout warning, Fernando gets up and takes his try to the trash can. Cathy tries to follow but her hand is held down against the table.\n\n“You mind letting me go- freak?!!”, Cathy tells her.\n\n“How about leaving him alone? Cant you tell that he needs some alone time?”, Wandaline tells her.\n\n“Cant you tell that he’s blind?”, Cathy turns back to her.\n\n“So he is. That does not give you the right to ruin his lunch.”, Wandaline says to her.\n\n“Being his girlfriend does!”, Cathy says out loud to her.\n\n“His girlfriend? Girlfriends don’t make things harder for their boyfriends!”, Wandaline says to her,\n\n“What you know about having a boyfriend? I bet that stick you always have is your boyfriend!”, Cathy says. She manages to pull her hand out from under Wandaline’s grasp and runs after Fernando.\n\n“What a fucking bitch…”, Wandaline says to herself.\n\nIt only takes her less than fifteen minutes to pick and choose from her lunch and eat what was not left behind. One could say that the cafeteria food was at least ‘interesting.’ She gets up and throws out what she did not eat at the trash gathering area, where the tray is shifted through for recyclable items before the rest is thrown out. From the trash to the school yard for recess, Wandaline stands by the exit looking out at the yard.\n\n“Why it is so hard to pick out one little beige squirrel from a yard full of black, white and grey ones?”, she says to herself. Her answer comes in a form of a group of girls guarding a corner with a few boys in front of them. Wandaline nods to herself as she walks out into the yard and heads to the group.\n\nA minute is a long time when one is doing something they would not want to do. As such for Wandaline, it was a long walk to the other side of the school yard to where the loud two groups were. \n\n“Why you stupid girls protecting him!”\n\n“He’s handicapped! Cant You See That!”\n\n“He’s Not Even A Squirrel!!”\n\n“Yes He Is!”\n\n“STOP IT!!!”, Wandaline yells to get their attention. They all turn to face her.\n\nJorge Ramirez, one of the shorter boys, trying to make a name for himself, steps up to her. His long curly blonde hair and short stature makes him looks like one of his sisters, being the only boy in a home with 6 girls. Thus he has to prove himself to the other boys or forever be called a sissy.\n\n“What do you want you stupid bitch!”, Jorge tells her.\n\n“What did you just called me?”, Wandaline asks.\n\n“I called you a stupid bitch. See- just like all the other girls- you are stupid! Don’t even know that you’re stupid!”, Jorge gets on her case.\n\nWandeline reaches into her pocket and grabs onto her wand. “I’m going to show you whose a stupid bitch!”, she yells as she pulls out the stick from her pocket and raises it over her head. A bright flash of light and a loud roar of thunder echoes about the school yard for just a second.\n\nWhere Jorge once stood now stand a girl, not just in body but in clothes too. Everyone just stares in awe at him/her.\n\n“Now whose the stupid bitch now!”, Wandaline \n\nA tear runs down Jorge’s face before he/she makes a mad dash back into the school. The boys go after him/her, leaving the girls behind.\n\nThe girls turn to face Wandaline, who was putting away her wand.\n\n“Why you did that for?!!”, one of the girls asked out loud.\n\n“What the fuck did you do!”, another yells.\n\n“He thinks that girls are stupid, then let him be stupid for a while.”, Wandaline says to them.\n\n“He’s not going to be like that… forever, is he?”, a black squirrel walks up to her asking.\n\n“He should be back to normal by the time we go home…” Wandaline begins to answer, “But his clothes wont change unless I change them back which I wont.”\n\n“You know they might try to rape him while he is a girl…”, a white squirrel walk up to her.\n\n“I really don’t care.”, Wandaline continues to answer. “It would serve him right if they do. Fucking gang slut.”\n\n“Why didn’t you turn him into a toad or something?”, the black squirrel asks.\n\n“That would have been an insult to toads around the world if I did.”, Wandaline answers, “Besides, that stupid bitch should be hiding in the girls’ bathroom, where we can walk in and beat her up but her boys cant come in.”\n\n“Yeah…”, most of the girls say before they start walking away from the area, and are soon running to the girls’ bathroom. Only the black and white squirrels remain along with Wandaline and Fernando. They stand in their places in muted silence, with most of the yard away from this area.\n\nIt took almost a minute of silence to be broken.\n\n“I’m sorry for calling you a freak.”, the white squirrel says to herself.\n\n“Next time say louder for everybody can hear it.”, Wandaline tells her.\n\n“I said I was sorry…”, the white squirrel says out loud to her.\n\n“I already heard you the first time…”, Wandaline says just as loud.\n\nOne of the recess supervising teachers blows her whistle, signifying the end of lunch and recess, and time to head back to home room and classes.\n\nThe white squirrel latches onto the wrist of the black squirrel and starts running, dragging her along, “Come on Juanita, we’re going to be late!”\n\n“What about Fernando?”, Juanita asks.\n\n“Fernando can take care of himself!”, the white squirrel says. It only takes a few seconds of running for them to make it half way across the school yard.\n\nWandaline turns to face Fernando who was leaning at the fence.\n\n“We’re going to be late.”, Wandaline tells him.\n\n“I have a handicap pass, so I can be late.”, Fernando tells her as he extends his cane and places the tip on the floor.\n\nThe walk to the school building was a long and slow one as he took his time getting there.\n\nThe suds falling into the drain had dissipated and only clear water circles the drain until they fell in. Wandaline looks at herself, seeing her fur being much cleaner, brighter and whiter than before, she just sighs.\n\nThe water gets turned off and she dries herself with a couple of towels before turning to a portable fur drier. \n\nShe walks out of the bathroom in just her panties with the wet towels in her arms. A quick walk in the small apartment to the kitchen area, she dumps the towels in the washing machine before heading back to her room.\n\nHer mother had cleaned up the mess in her room and placed a light blue polo-shirt and knee-high dark green skirt on her bed with a note on them.\n\n“Wandy,\n\nI went to the botanica to get some needed things. Will be back in a few minute. And please put that on. At least for some respect to the Mendez boys and their families.\n\n-Mom”\n\nShe looks over the polo shirt and skirt, and finds her shoes freshly polished on the floor with clean knee-high sox balled up in them. She looks at them for a moment then searches the skirt for something. At least it had pockets.\n\nGetting dressed for her only took a couple of minutes, feeling uncomfortable in them. She sits on the bed and brushes her hair, taking long and deliberate strokes as she does.\n\nHer mother arrives home quietly, putting various things away before entering Wandaline’s room. She tosses a small jar at her which she catches.\n\n“That should be enough eye of newt to last you for several years.”, her mom tells her. She then asks, “You ready to go?”\n\nWandaline just sits there looking back at her. He mother walks up to her and stops by the bed.\n\n“This is much better. Maybe now you could get a boyfriend…”, her mother tells her.\n\n“Mother!”, Wandaline yells at her.\n\n“Look. You are a beautiful girl. Don’t hide it in those long black gowns you wear. Please?”, her mother says and then asks.\n\n“I already had a boyfriend, I don’t want another!”, Wandaline tells her mom.\n\n“I would not consider a study buddy as a boyfriend…”, her mother started to say.\n\n“We kissed and everything! Then his family had to move somewhere far away!”, Wandaline almost yelled at her.\n\nHer mother hesitated in answer, giving the standard, “There will be other boyfriends out there.”\n\n“I don’t want another boyfriend, I want him!”, Wandaline says loudly.\n\nHer mother sighs, “Alright. I’ll ask around and maybe see of the other families have some information on his family and maybe you two can send email and paper letters.”\n\nWandaline remains quiet as she does not know how not answer.\n\n“Look… in fifteen minutes we go pay our respects to the boys and I’ll ask about his family. You calm yourself down before we go.”, her mother tells her before giving her a kiss on the forehead. She slowly, quietly leaves the room.\n\nThough she does not wear jewelry and makeup, she walks to her dresser where a large mirror was. On top of the dresser was a few loose items and a jewelry box a boy gave her which he made in woodshop. Fernando made several such boxes and just gave them away. She opens the box and looks the contents inside: a few loosely thrown earrings and a couple of gold chain necklaces. She puts on a simple pair of earrings she had to match up and a small chain with a crucifix on it. A bit if lipstick and a little eyeliner makes up the rest of her, contrasting the highlights and exemplifying the natural beauty she had.\n\nShe steps out of her room, walking down the small hallway to the living room and kitchen were. Without walls to designate such areas, they were usually merged as one room with borders left to the family’s imagination. Mom was sitting back in on the single arm chairs waiting for her.\n\n“I’m ready, mom.”, Wandaline stated.\n\n“Good…”, her mother tells her as she looks at her watch. “4:30? We should get there by 5PM. Lets go.”\n\nHer mother gets up, wearing a LBD (Little Black Dress), 4inch heels and properly made up as if she was going on a date. In the very least, she was a MILF whose panties that many males wanted to get inside of. A small matching black purse complimented her mother’s looks.\n\nThey walk down the block, turning onto the main avenue to the wolf-call and whistles of the drunken men who have nothing to do but hang out in front of the building all day.\n\n“Hmph… Ignore them dear.”, her mother tells her.\n\nThey continue down the streets and avenues, until they reach Francisco’s Funeral Parlor, at the time her mother said they would. The mother signs the guests book before walking into the chapel that contained the two small coffins.\n\nHer mother leads her to where the coffins were and kneels down on the padded kneeling bench on front of the coffins. A tug on her arm makes Wandaline kneel down next to her mother.\n\n“We might deal in magic but we are still Roman Catholics… or else you would not be wearing that crucifix. Now quietly say a small prayer for them.”, her mother whispers to her. Wandaline just nods then together say a small quiet prayer for the boys.\n\nAfter a minute the mother gets up, taking Wandaline up with her. Then she points to the group of girls at one end of the chapel. She recognizes most of them from school. With little choice being offered she walks to the girls.\n\n“Wandline? That can not be you!”, the white squirrel of the group says.\n\n“What happened to you? Somebody dropped a beauty salon on your head or something?”, the other while squirrel next to her says.\n\n“Leave her alone girls.”, the gray squirrel tells them.\n\n“Thank you Grace. Juanita, Cathy and Kathy, didn’t you guys moved?”, Wandaline says and then asks.\n\n“We came because we had too.”, Cathy answers.\n\n“Yeah. Even though I just moved a couple of days ago, I wish you guys were in Pouncefield.”, Kathy says.\n\n“You wouldn’t know where Fernando’s family moved too, would you?”, Wandaline asks.\n\n“Yeah, he’s right across the street from us.”, Kathy says. Most of the girls turn to face her, staring at her with an angry stern look.\n\n“What?”, she says to them.\n\n“Well… His family is coming in an about an hour.”, a red squirrel says as she looks at her watch.\n\nWandaline’s eyes open wide.\n\nEnd of: Wandaline the Teen-aged Witch.",

Now go wash up, you smell like your failed experiment&hellip; what were you trying to do anyways?&rdquo;,&nbsp;&nbsp;her mother tries to say.<br /><br />&ldquo;You would not understand&hellip;&rdquo;, Wandaline started say.<br /><br />The mother looks over the ruined contents of Wandaline&rsquo;s desk. &ldquo;Looks like you were trying to make portal keys. You know the dangers of dealing with powers you don&rsquo;t yet understand! Have you even read your spell book at least?&rdquo;, her mother tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Everything is on the Internet, mom.&rdquo;, Wandaline tries to answer.<br /><br />&ldquo;The Internet is not a proven source of information. Your spell book is! All those typos and <br />deliberate mistakes on the WikiMagic website is going to get somebody killed! Now go read the book before you try this again&hellip; And take a shower now!&rdquo;, her mother tells her some more.<br /><br />&ldquo;Mom?&rdquo;, Wandaline started to ask.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yes&hellip;?&rdquo;, her mother answers in question.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m all out of eye-of-newt.&rdquo;, Wandaline says to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;That&rsquo;s another thing&hellip; make sure you have all the ingredients before starting out on a spell&hellip;&rdquo;, her mother tells her. Wandaline sadly looks at her. &ldquo;Alright. I&rsquo;ll see what I can do.&rdquo;<br /><br />The mother looks about the room, shaking her head at what she sees, especially about the desk.<br /><br />&ldquo;Go to the bathroom and shower up until your fur is a white as mine.&rdquo;, the mother sternly tells Wandaline.<br /><br />&ldquo;But mom, I&rsquo;m a grey squirrel&hellip;&rdquo;, Wandaline tries to tell her.<br /><br />&ldquo;You&rsquo;re grey because your are dabbing in both dark and white magic, and you need to stop that before you turn black! I did not give birth to a girl to watch her turn evil against the world!&rdquo;, her mother tells her. &ldquo; Now get into that shower before I send you back to where came from!&rdquo;<br /><br />Wandaline starts to walk to the bathroom, saying to herself, &ldquo;I doubt I will ever fit back into your womb again, mother&hellip;&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;What did not you say?&rdquo;, her mother yells down the hall as the bathroom door slams closed. Wandaline does not answer her as she turns on the shower to let the water get to its right temperature and starts taking off her clothes.<br /><br />She looks at herself at the mirror above the bathroom sink, then at her naked self. The tiny room begins to fill up with steam. She continues to think before stepping into the shower.<br /><br />Wandaline&rsquo;s natural colour is off white, a couple of shades off from her mother&rsquo;s bright white, though some would consider it light grey. Thus the differences between her mother seeing her as white and her seeing herself as grey seems to be on a much broader field of discussion than any argument of politics, religion or war. Thus what is a mother to do?<br /><br />Grandmother is respective of all cultures, since the great war exposed her to many of the world&rsquo;s nationalities, communities and cultures. Ideas not generally accepted by one group of people are for others, this she learned very early on. Witchcraft, Voodoo,&nbsp;&nbsp;Santeria, and the Kabala are ideas she learned that are accepted by some and not by others. Though such knowledge ends with her generation, through Wandaline Fernando has learned a few things he would rather leave alone.<br /><br />Though the suds rinse off her body with a dark grey colour, Wandaline stands under the pouring shower, letting the water hit the back of her neck and down her back. Her mind goes through recent history to see where she went wrong, though there is nothing wrong she did. Fernando&rsquo;s family left on their own accord and not by his choosing. Her mind seem to follow the bubbles as they circle the drain several times before falling in.<br /><br />&ldquo;Aren&rsquo;t you in most of my classes?&rdquo;, she says to him, her mind falling back into a memory from a year before. In her mind she sits down on a bench of the lunchroom table, putting her try of food down. Across from her was Fernando, feeling his food with his spork.<br /><br />&ldquo;Aren&rsquo;t you in third period Math, second period English, sixth period Science&hellip;&rdquo;, she seems to ramble on.<br /><br />&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know who you are.&rdquo;, Fernando tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m the quiet one who sits two seats away from you most classes because both our last names start with the letter G.&rdquo;, she tries to tell him.<br /><br />&ldquo;A lot of girls have a G in their last name. Look, no disrespect, but I prefer a quiet lunch period&hellip; alone.&rdquo;, he tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I also live in the building next to yours&hellip;&rdquo;, she started to say before she was interrupted.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well, well&hellip; looks who&rsquo;s here for another year&hellip;&rdquo;, a deeper voice says beside them. Fernando recognizes it as Alfonzo&rsquo;s voice, and he was not alone as several others laughed behind him. &ldquo;Mary not good enough anymore that you need to be with a freak?&rdquo;<br /><br />Though the cafeteria turns quiet, the patter of several feet runs towards them.<br /><br />&ldquo;GET AWAY FROM HIM!&rdquo;, a female voice shouts out from behind them. It is followed with just as many more girls saying, &ldquo;Yeah!&rdquo;<br /><br />Alfonzo turns around looking at the group behind him and his fellow gang members, seeing them outnumbered by a several more girls. He nods at his group, &ldquo;Lets go&hellip; there is nothing here.&rdquo;<br /><br />The girls remain as Alfonzo and his friends leave the immediate area of the cafeteria. Some gather their lunches and sit in the surrounding tables around Fernando and Wandaline, creating a buffer zone around them.&nbsp;&nbsp; One girl in particular sits right next to Fernando. She looks at the other right across from her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Cathy&hellip; I want to be left alone.&rdquo;, Fernando tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not going to ask how you know it was me&hellip;&rdquo;, Cathy starts to tell him.<br /><br />&ldquo;You smell like Dove soap, baby powder and your mom&rsquo;s perfume. That&rsquo;s how I know.&rdquo;, he interrupts her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Why, I never&hellip; And who is thi&hellip; wait&hellip; you&rsquo;re that freak Wandaline&hellip; Aren&rsquo;t you?&rdquo;, Cathy says in broken sentences.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not a freak&hellip;&rdquo;, Wandaline tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yes You Are&hellip;. Haven&rsquo;t You Looked At Yourself!&rdquo;, Cathy says on the verge of yelling, &ldquo; You Got Black Hair But White Fur! No Albino Has That Combination!&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m Not An Albino!&rdquo;, Wandaline almost yells at her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Sure you aint&hellip; your fur is as white as mine&hellip;&rdquo;, Cathy lowers her tone.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m a grey squirrel with a very light grey fur colour. I&rsquo;m not an albino like you.&rdquo;, Wandaline tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeah right&hellip;&rdquo;, Cathy says. &ldquo;Anyways&hellip; Fernando, looks like they are going to start against you again this year.&rdquo;<br /><br />Without warning, Fernando gets up and takes his try to the trash can. Cathy tries to follow but her hand is held down against the table.<br /><br />&ldquo;You mind letting me go- freak?!!&rdquo;, Cathy tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;How about leaving him alone? Cant you tell that he needs some alone time?&rdquo;, Wandaline tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Cant you tell that he&rsquo;s blind?&rdquo;, Cathy turns back to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;So he is. That does not give you the right to ruin his lunch.&rdquo;, Wandaline says to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Being his girlfriend does!&rdquo;, Cathy says out loud to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;His girlfriend? Girlfriends don&rsquo;t make things harder for their boyfriends!&rdquo;, Wandaline says to her,<br /><br />&ldquo;What you know about having a boyfriend? I bet that stick you always have is your boyfriend!&rdquo;, Cathy says. She manages to pull her hand out from under Wandaline&rsquo;s grasp and runs after Fernando.<br /><br />&ldquo;What a fucking bitch&hellip;&rdquo;, Wandaline says to herself.<br /><br />It only takes her less than fifteen minutes to pick and choose from her lunch and eat what was not left behind. One could say that the cafeteria food was at least &lsquo;interesting.&rsquo; She gets up and throws out what she did not eat at the trash gathering area, where the tray is shifted through for recyclable items before the rest is thrown out. From the trash to the school yard for recess, Wandaline stands by the exit looking out at the yard.<br /><br />&ldquo;Why it is so hard to pick out one little beige squirrel from a yard full of black, white and grey ones?&rdquo;, she says to herself. Her answer comes in a form of a group of girls guarding a corner with a few boys in front of them. Wandaline nods to herself as she walks out into the yard and heads to the group.<br /><br />A minute is a long time when one is doing something they would not want to do. As such for Wandaline, it was a long walk to the other side of the school yard to where the loud two groups were. <br /><br />&ldquo;Why you stupid girls protecting him!&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;He&rsquo;s handicapped! Cant You See That!&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;He&rsquo;s Not Even&nbsp;&nbsp;A Squirrel!!&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Yes He Is!&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;STOP IT!!!&rdquo;, Wandaline yells to get their attention. They all turn to face her.<br /><br />Jorge Ramirez, one of the shorter boys, trying to make a name for himself, steps up to her. His long curly blonde hair and short stature makes him looks like one of his sisters, being the only boy in a home with 6 girls. Thus he has to prove himself to the other boys or forever be called a sissy.<br /><br />&ldquo;What do you want you stupid bitch!&rdquo;, Jorge tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;What did you just called me?&rdquo;, Wandaline asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;I called you a stupid bitch. See- just like all the other girls- you are stupid! Don&rsquo;t even know that you&rsquo;re stupid!&rdquo;, Jorge gets on her case.<br /><br />Wandeline reaches into her pocket and grabs onto her wand. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m going to show you whose a stupid bitch!&rdquo;, she yells as she pulls out the stick from her pocket and raises it over her head. A bright flash of light and a loud roar of thunder echoes about the school yard for just a second.<br /><br />Where Jorge once stood now stand a girl, not just in body but in clothes too. Everyone just stares in awe at him/her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Now whose the stupid bitch now!&rdquo;, Wandaline <br /><br />A tear runs down Jorge&rsquo;s face before he/she makes a mad dash back into the school. The boys go after him/her, leaving the girls behind.<br /><br />The girls turn to face Wandaline, who was putting away her wand.<br /><br />&ldquo;Why you did that for?!!&rdquo;, one of the girls asked out loud.<br /><br />&ldquo;What the fuck did you do!&rdquo;, another yells.<br /><br />&ldquo;He thinks that girls are stupid, then let him be stupid for a while.&rdquo;, Wandaline says to them.<br /><br />&ldquo;He&rsquo;s not going to be like that&hellip; forever, is he?&rdquo;, a black squirrel walks up to her asking.<br /><br />&ldquo;He should be back to normal by the time we go home&hellip;&rdquo; Wandaline begins to answer, &ldquo; But his clothes wont change unless I change them back which I wont.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;You know they might try to rape him while he is a girl&hellip;&rdquo;, a white squirrel walk up to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I really don&rsquo;t care.&rdquo;, Wandaline continues to answer. &ldquo; It would serve him right if they do. Fucking gang slut.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Why didn&rsquo;t you turn him into a toad or something?&rdquo;, the black squirrel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;That would have been an insult to toads around the world if I did.&rdquo;, Wandaline answers, &ldquo;Besides, that stupid bitch should be hiding in the girls&rsquo; bathroom, where we can walk in and beat her up but her boys cant come in.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeah&hellip;&rdquo;, most of the girls say before they start walking away from the area, and are soon running to the girls&rsquo; bathroom. Only the black and white squirrels remain along with Wandaline and Fernando. They stand in their places in muted silence, with most of the yard away from this area.<br /><br />It took almost a minute of silence to be broken.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m sorry for calling you a freak.&rdquo;, the white squirrel says to herself.<br /><br />&ldquo;Next time say louder for everybody can hear it.&rdquo;, Wandaline tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I said I was sorry&hellip;&rdquo;, the white squirrel says out loud to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I already heard you the first time&hellip;&rdquo;, Wandaline says just as loud.<br /><br />One of the recess supervising teachers blows her whistle, signifying the end of lunch and recess, and time to head back to home room and classes.<br /><br />The white squirrel latches onto the wrist of the black squirrel and starts running, dragging her along, &ldquo;Come on Juanita, we&rsquo;re going to be late!&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;What about Fernando?&rdquo;, Juanita asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Fernando can take care of himself!&rdquo;, the white squirrel says. It only takes a few seconds of running for them to make it half way across the school yard.<br /><br />Wandaline turns to face Fernando who was leaning at the fence.<br /><br />&ldquo;We&rsquo;re going to be late.&rdquo;, Wandaline tells him.<br /><br />&ldquo;I have a handicap pass, so I can be late.&rdquo;, Fernando tells her as he extends his cane and places the tip on the floor.<br /><br />The walk to the school building was a long and slow one as he took his time getting there.<br /><br />The suds falling into the drain had dissipated and only clear water circles the drain until they fell in. Wandaline looks at herself, seeing her fur being much cleaner, brighter and whiter&nbsp;&nbsp;than before, she just sighs.<br /><br />The water gets turned off and she dries herself with a couple of towels before turning to a portable fur drier. <br /><br />She walks out of the bathroom in just her panties with the wet towels in her arms. A quick walk in the small apartment to the kitchen area, she dumps the towels in the washing machine before heading back to her room.<br /><br />Her mother had cleaned up the mess in her room and placed a light blue polo-shirt and knee-high dark green skirt on her bed with a note on them.<br /><br />&ldquo;Wandy,<br /><br />I went to the botanica to get some needed things. Will be back in a few minute. And please put that on. At least for some respect to the Mendez boys and their families.<br /><br />-Mom&rdquo;<br /><br />She looks over the polo shirt and skirt, and finds her shoes freshly polished on the floor with clean knee-high sox balled up in them. She looks at them for a moment then searches the skirt for something. At least it had pockets.<br /><br />Getting dressed for her only took a couple of minutes, feeling uncomfortable in them. She sits on the bed and brushes her hair, taking long and deliberate strokes as she does.<br /><br />Her mother arrives home quietly, putting various things away before entering Wandaline&rsquo;s room. She tosses a small jar at her which she catches.<br /><br />&ldquo;That should be enough eye of newt to last you for several years.&rdquo;, her mom tells her. She then asks, &ldquo; You ready to go?&rdquo;<br /><br />Wandaline just sits there looking back at her. He mother walks up to her and stops by the bed.<br /><br />&ldquo;This is much better. Maybe now you could get a boyfriend&hellip;&rdquo;, her mother tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Mother!&rdquo;, Wandaline yells at her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Look. You are a beautiful girl. Don&rsquo;t hide it in those long black gowns you wear. Please?&rdquo;, her mother says and then asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;I already had a boyfriend, I don&rsquo;t want another!&rdquo;,&nbsp;&nbsp;Wandaline tells her mom.<br /><br />&ldquo;I would not consider a study buddy as a boyfriend&hellip;&rdquo;, her mother started to say.<br /><br />&ldquo;We kissed and everything! Then his family had to move somewhere far away!&rdquo;, Wandaline almost yelled at her.<br /><br />Her mother hesitated in answer, giving the standard, &ldquo; There will be other boyfriends out there.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t want another boyfriend, I want him!&rdquo;, Wandaline says loudly.<br /><br />Her mother sighs, &ldquo;Alright. I&rsquo;ll ask around and maybe see of the other families have some information on his family and maybe you two can send email and paper letters.&rdquo;<br /><br />Wandaline remains quiet as she does not know how not answer.<br /><br />&ldquo;Look&hellip; in fifteen minutes we go pay our respects to the boys and I&rsquo;ll ask about his family. You calm yourself down before we go.&rdquo;, her mother tells her before giving her a kiss on the forehead. She slowly, quietly leaves the room.<br /><br />Though she does not wear jewelry and makeup, she walks to her dresser where a large mirror was. A bit if lipstick and a little eyeliner makes up the rest of her, contrasting the highlights and exemplifying the natural beauty she had.<br /><br />She steps out of her room, walking down the small hallway to the living room and kitchen were. Without walls to designate such areas, they were usually merged as one room with borders left to the family&rsquo;s imagination. Mom was sitting back in on the single arm chairs waiting for her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m ready, mom.&rdquo;, Wandaline stated.<br /><br />&ldquo;Good&hellip;&rdquo;, her mother tells her as she looks at her watch. &ldquo;4:30? We should get there by 5PM. Lets go.&rdquo;<br /><br />Her mother gets up, wearing a LBD (Little Black Dress), 4inch heels and properly made up as if she was going on a date. In the very least, she was a MILF whose panties that many males wanted to get inside of. A small matching black purse complimented her mother&rsquo;s looks.<br /><br />They walk down the block, turning onto the main avenue to the wolf-call and whistles of the drunken men who have nothing to do but hang out in front of the building all day.<br /><br />&ldquo;Hmph&hellip; Ignore them dear.&rdquo;, her mother tells her.<br /><br />They continue down the streets and avenues, until they reach Francisco&rsquo;s Funeral Parlor, at the time her mother said they would. The mother signs the guests book before walking into the chapel that contained the two small coffins.<br /><br />Her mother leads her to where the coffins were and kneels down on the padded kneeling bench on front of the coffins. A tug on her arm makes Wandaline kneel down next to her mother.<br /><br />&ldquo;We might deal in magic but we are still Roman Catholics&hellip; or else you would not be wearing that crucifix. Now quietly say a small prayer for them.&rdquo;, her mother whispers to her. Wandaline just nods then together say a small quiet prayer for the boys.<br /><br />After a minute the mother gets up, taking Wandaline up with her. Then she points to the group of girls at one end of the chapel. She recognizes most of them from school. With little choice being offered she walks to the girls.<br /><br />&ldquo;Wandline? That can not be you!&rdquo;, the white squirrel of the group says.<br /><br />&ldquo;What happened to you? Somebody dropped a beauty salon on your head or something?&rdquo;, the other while squirrel next to her says.<br /><br />&ldquo;Leave her alone girls.&rdquo;, the gray squirrel tells them.<br /><br />&ldquo;Thank you Grace. Juanita, Cathy and Kathy, didn&rsquo;t you guys moved?&rdquo;, Wandaline says and then asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;We came because we had too.&rdquo;, Cathy answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeah. Even though I just moved a couple of days ago, I wish you guys were in Pouncefield.&rdquo;, Kathy says.<br /><br />&ldquo;You wouldn&rsquo;t know where Fernando&rsquo;s family moved too, would you?&rdquo;, Wandaline asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeah, he&rsquo;s right across the street from us.&rdquo;, Kathy says. Most of the girls turn to face her, staring at her with an angry stern look.<br /><br />&ldquo;What?&rdquo;, she says to them.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well&hellip; His family is coming in an about an hour.&rdquo;, a red squirrel says as she looks at her watch.<br /><br />Wandaline&rsquo;s eyes open wide.<br /><br />End of: Wandaline the Teen-aged Witch.</span>",
