Original 2D plans of the St Lovejoy building (not posted) is by Unknown Artist.", "writing": "Years ago in the years before Ink Bunny, somebody drew up plans for Krezz's School in his School days series: St Lovejoy Academy. Since then he's been looking for somebody to build it as a virtual 3D construct. I`ve looked at it several times, and made attempts to build something. But there were several problems.\n\nIn my discussions with him, St. Lovejoy's is actually 2 buildings, one the mirror and flipped image of the other, where one building, the main building is grades K - 5 and the other is 6 - 12. There are hints of this in the various panels of his comic.\n\nHaving been a teacher and school assistant administrator (and After School /Summer Day Camp Director), I went by the regulations of my state as per the size of classrooms and building layout. There are also many issues with the original plans of St. Love joy's layout:\n\n- The original plans did not have a bathroom for either staff or students. I planned to at minimum 4 bathrooms for the students and 2 for the staff per floor, though I ended up with 4 bathrooms for the students and 1 staff bathroom as part of the teacher's break-room for the building.\n\n- There are about 65 rooms in the layout of the building on 2 floors, with an average of 25 students per call; that is about 1645 students with over 100 adults as teachers and school staff.\n\n- There is no basement drawn for the building, though one is required for the building's infrastructure and to hold the school's swimming pool in place. I currently left it as a hole in the ground. If you look at the building carefully, it is floating about 6 inches, this is where the top of the basement should be.\n\n- There were no stairways, though there were icons for a stairway area which if I follow the scale of the original plans, meant that the stairways were 18 inches wide. I had to resize the staircases in order to accommodate the amount of classes, students and staff the school supports.\n\n- The original plans were not safe in terms of fire safety and escape. I added a couple more doors for rapid egress and widen them. I also added a Roof Area students and staff can go to escape an emergency situation within the building and wait for the fire department to get them off the second floor roof.\n\n- Of the 65 rooms 51 rooms are actual classrooms or labs/shops. 24 on the main floor, 27 on the second floor. The remaining 14 rooms are: School Cafeteria and Kitchen area (2 large class space areas); two gyms (one large gym for the older classes and the basketball team games and one smaller gym for the younger grades); 2 locker rooms segregated by sex/gender which includes a shower area; Medical Care and Records Office; Weight Training & Exercise Room; Team Conference room (should be two but there is only one); Coach's and Gym/Swimmer Teachers' Office; Swimming Pool; General office and connected to the Principal's Office; Teacher's Lounge/Break Room with connected Teacher's bathroom; Guidance Councilor's Room, Custodial Engineer's Office - all on the first floor. On the Second floor are 3 Gym Observation rooms (2 small and 1 large, the large one is also used as the Cheerleading Squad meeting room during practice and games); two large empty areas which are part of the gyms that are 20ft tall instead o the 10ft per floor; The Library is above the Cafeteria with Second Floor Roof Escape (there are no school computers in the library, students can connect their laptops and tablets to the school's network); the last 4 small rooms which were part of the hallway on first floor but smaller rooms on the second floor are for student clubs and student government. The clubs include: School Journalism Club (one room); Communications (Ham Radio)/Rocketry/Drone (RC planes and cars) sharing one room) clubs; Computer Club and Chess Room (Shared room); and the Student Government Room for the Student President, Vice President, and support student staff.\n\nThe program I used is not perfect and it is used mostly for residential constructs. Thus I had to substitute various items that are not there. For example - using picnic tables when there were no cafeteria tables. Other things were not possible to - like the basketball lines on the gym, this was not doable on the program. Small items were left out like room power outlets, classroom clocks, classroom/Hall bulletin boards, and hallway fire extinguishers one per every 5 classrooms) and hallway water fountains (about 6 to 8 needed per floor and 2 at the gyms/locker areas).\n\nAlso not in the plans are Custodial Staff Equipment Rooms (Broom Closets) which about 4 are needed for the custodial staff to access cleaning supplies and tools. Since there is no basement, underground public connection to the other building does not exist. To make such changes to the original plans would add another 120ft to the size of the building.\n\nAlso excluded are all the outdoor amenities: the soccer/baseball fields, outdoor pool (community owned but used by the school by the swimming team during summer season), Play ground for the K-8 students, and staff/student parking lot for those who drive to school. The fence around the top roof and School Sign is also missing. The Virtual Construct of the school is at a point where things are beginning to slow down.\n\nLastly, the School auditorium was also left out as it was an external construct to the main building. Being an external building, it can be used by the community for movies, plays and Student Government fund raisers.\n\nThe program I used was Sweet Home 3D which allowed me to create the whole building but with issues. Like with various CAD programs I started out with, the systems I owned and the Low RAM they had (Under 4GB), I was able to create one room before RAM Issues started (Program slowdowns, Random Crashes, etc). Eventually I managed to acquire a couple systems that could barely handle such a large virtual construct and was able to create the much of the school building as possible with the important fixes it needed.\n\nThough it is going to take time and money, the next step is finish the school (build the auditorium and second building, add the tiny missing things to classrooms and hallways, add the missing rooms (Broom Closets, etc.), connecting sidewalks, and basements to create a virtual functional walk through of the academy. Hopefully I will have it done before 2026. When done I hope this will push those ahead with projects, arts and stories associated with Krezz's universe. - Of the 65 rooms 51 rooms are actual classrooms or labs/shops. 24 on the main floor, 27 on the second floor. The remaining 14 rooms are: School Cafeteria and Kitchen area (2 large class space areas); two gyms (one large gym for the older classes and the basketball team games and one smaller gym for the younger grades); 2 locker rooms segregated by sex/gender which includes a shower area; Medical Care and Records Office; Weight Training & Exercise Room; Team Conference room (should be two but there is only one); Coach's and Gym/Swimmer Teachers' Office; Swimming Pool; General office and connected to the Principal's Office; Teacher's Lounge/Break Room with connected Teacher's bathroom; Guidance Councilor's Room, Custodial Engineer's Office - all on the first floor. On the Second floor are 3 Gym Observation rooms (2 small and 1 large, the large one is also used as the Cheerleading Squad meeting room during practice and games); two large empty areas which are part of the gyms that are 20ft tall instead o the 10ft per floor; The Library is above the Cafeteria with Second Floor Roof Escape (there are no school computers in the library, students can connect their laptops and tablets to the school's network); the last 4 small rooms which were part of the hallway on first floor but smaller rooms on the second floor are for student clubs and student government. The clubs include: School Journalism Club (one room); Communications (Ham Radio)/Rocketry/Drone (RC planes and cars) sharing one room) clubs; Computer Club and Chess Room (Shared room); and the Student Government Room for the Student President, Vice President, and support student staff.

The program I used is not perfect and it is used mostly for residential constructs. Thus I had to substitute various items that are not there. For example - using picnic tables when there were no cafeteria tables. Other things were not possible to - like the basketball lines on the gym, this was not doable on the program. Small items were left out like room power outlets, classroom clocks, classroom/Hall bulletin boards, and hallway fire extinguishers one per every 5 classrooms) and hallway water fountains (about 6 to 8 needed per floor and 2 at the gyms/locker areas).

Also not in the plans are Custodial Staff Equipment Rooms (Broom Closets) which about 4 are needed for the custodial staff to access cleaning supplies and tools. Since there is no basement, underground public connection to the other building does not exist. To make such changes to the original plans would add another 120ft to the size of the building.

Also excluded are all the outdoor amenities: the soccer/baseball fields, outdoor pool (community owned but used by the school by the swimming team during summer season), Play ground for the K-8 students, and staff/student parking lot for those who drive to school. The fence around the top roof and School Sign is also missing. The Virtual Construct of the school is at a point where things are beginning to slow down.

Lastly, the School auditorium was also left out as it was an external construct to the main building. Being an external building, it can be used by the community for movies, plays and Student Government fund raisers.

The program I used was Sweet Home 3D which allowed me to create the whole building but with issues. Like with various CAD programs I started out with, the systems I owned and the Low RAM they had (Under 4GB), I was able to create one room before RAM Issues started (Program slowdowns, Random Crashes, etc). Eventually I managed to acquire a couple systems that could barely handle such a large virtual construct and was able to create the much of the school building as possible with the important fixes it needed.

Though it is going to take time and money, the next step is finish the school (build the auditorium and second building, add the tiny missing things to classrooms and hallways, add the missing rooms (Broom Closets, etc.), connecting sidewalks, and basements to create a virtual functional walk through of the academy.  Hopefully I will have it done before 2026. When done I hope this will push those ahead with projects, arts and stories associated with Krezz's universe. The other schools will be added (Green Hills Academy and the agreed too before his death -- Columbus Academy).
