His name is Japanese for "Bluegold" and is pronounced "ay-OH-kihn". The name can also be written in three other Japanese writing styles besides the romaji, as is seen written here on the reference sheet in vertical Asian alignment. In the bottom left Aokin is written as アオキン in katakana, and in the top right as あおきん in hiragana, and in the bottom right as 青金 in kanji.
Aokin is a cyan Jolteon with green eyes, and has a genetic mental condition called Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). He was hatched and raised in captivity as his parents live with human Trainers, so he never experienced life in the wilderness. Due to an incidence during a fight with an Electrike, within a raging thunderstorm, Aokin evolved unconventionally due to having been struck by a cyan lightning bolt from the clouds above. Other phenomenal occurrences, along with the presence of Fairy Aura in the area, caused Aokin to evolve with a white spiral on his right shoulder. His Pokéball had to be custom made after his premature evolution, with a green lightning bolt on the front of the cyan upper hemisphere.
This is a reference sheet I made myself. I used a free-to-use Jolteon lineart base I found on DeviantArt, coloring it in using Gimp. I then added the completed Jolteon image to a reference sheet I created in Microsoft Office PowerPoint, and fused the components into a single PNG picture.
Aokin's Pokéball was also created using a lineart base I found of Pikachu's Pokéball (which is like other ordinary Pokéball except with a yellow lightning bolt on the front above the button). I colored the lineart myself.
