  "description": "ref sheet for a character from an upcoming story, Forrest Holtz. \n\nForrest is/was a janitor at Lavender County High School when Nico was attending, thus him being 60yo was around the time Nico was 14/15. At the time, Forrest had already put in over 20yrs with the school and was pretty much known as always being in the background of everything going on, not unlike the lunch ladies and other janitorial staff. He wasn't very talkative, he wasn't very social, he simply existed in the backgrounds of hallways and events. Janitorial staff, he'd say to Nico one day, doesn't really get the same social life as the teaching faculty does, and thus he'd never been particularly noticed for anything other than his dedication to the school. He's buddies with the other cleaning crew, and he's got a few friends he sees on break and seldom in the halls, but other than that he's fairly solitary.\n\nForrest is divorced and got handed a nasty settlement wherein, when he retires, his ex-wife gets half of his retirement income. Because of this, he's decided he's never going to retire. A Vietnam veteran, he could probably have retired by now, but he's chosen not to, and because of that he's made the best of his situation. Though he had jobs after the war before he settled into janitor work at LCHS, he's decided this is where he's going to stay. It's not hard work.\n\nBeing a skunk, he's familiar with the way young people can treat each other based on species and smell. That's why, when he finds Nico skipping gym class to hang out in the janitor closet, he lets him linger, and the two start to become friends. Forrest, after all, has a lot he'd like to talk about, with his work life certainly not being social, and Nico is eager to listen and learn.",
