Okay, so this idea goes waaaay back. I think everyone knows the amazingly hot Steele picture by
\n\t\t\t\t\tWookiee (If you dont, HERE IS THE LINK )And ever since I got into drawing, this thing has prevented me from drawing any Steele smut.
The main reason for this is, I had the impression that I never had an idea that was bringing something new to the table. Whenever you think of Steele, you automatically connect it with dogsleds and you think it could be a nice idea to see him in that gear. And well, Wookiee did a great job of capturing that idea perfectly.
So whenever I felt like drawing a picture of Steele I came back to the same problem: What kind of motive could I draw, that would not look like a cheap copy of Wookiees picture? And I never could come up with an idea that was strong enough on its own.
But now, finally, I managed to come up with a picture. And not only that, but this picture also helped me to overcome my lack of motivation I had the last few days. So I basically hit two birds with one stone. What I tried new with this one, was to pick up the look of a character and adapt it to my style, rather than just plain copying the original style.
And I think it worked out well, since I kept the general characteristics (like the big nose, man that thing was huge in the film) but made him look less clunky. For example: The muzzle in the original was very long and had a weird shape. It would have looked really strange from the front if I had drawn it the same way, so I improvised.
And I'm pretty happy with the outcome. On one hand you can definitely recognize the character but on the other he doesnt looks as "cartoony" as the original.
