"writing": "Chapter 16\n\n\n\tAs the numerous Fragments attacked, Flint and Hiryuu fought back. They struck with a series of punches and kicks knocking their opponents away. They didn't have the time to land a finishing blow and risk getting swarmed by all the others. It was hard enough just keeping them at bay.\n\n\t\"You're not half bad,\" commented Hiryuu in a casual voice that was hardly suitable for such a tense situation.\n\n\t\"Same to you,\" replied Flint. \"You were kind of weird, but you really do seem to know how to throw a punch.\"\n\n\t\"That's nothing,\" bragged Hiryuu. \"I'm a Rank Three so I can carry weapons with me. How about you?:\n\n\t\"Still Rank Two,\" admitted Flint.\n\n\t\"Well then this will give you something to look forward to,\" said Hiryuu as he drew his weapon of choice, throwing stars. He held them between his fingers and with the flick of a finger he shot a star at one of the Fragments piercing its body and sending a spray of 1's and 0's in all directions. With incredible accuracy he hit his mark every time despite the hand he used. \"What do you think?\"\n\n\t\"I'm getting excited,\" replied Flint. \"But I don't think a range weapon is for me. I prefer to take care of things up close and personal.\" A pair of Fragments grabbed at his arms, but he swung them around like ragdolls and beat them off with a group of other Fragments.\n\n\t\"Suit yourself. Well I say it's about time to stop messing around and put an end to this,\" he stated. \"It is time to show you why I'm the Flying Dragon.\"\n\n\tWith great agility he leaped up to the top of the ship. Do, Re, and Mi quickly made their way into the ship while everyone else was focused on Hiryuu. Whatever he was up to it was clear they didn't want to stick around for it. Then while he was in the air he started spinning and rotating in midair somehow keeping his position as if gravity had no effect on him. There were flashes of light coming from his body as countless starts rained down all over the boat. The Fragments ran haphazardly around trying to get out of the way. They ran into railings, poles and each other trying to avoid the stars; most ended up getting hit anyway. The only possible escape for them seemed to be diving into the water.\n\n\t\"Watch where you're throwing those things!\" cried Flint having to dodge as well. He was a lot quicker and smarter than the Fragments and much more so in the luck department as most of the stars that flew by him missed by the narrowest margin. Some still required him to dodge or end up a pin cushion. He was just relieved the rest of his team was below deck even though they were all going after Rex.\n\n\t\"Sorry about that,\" Hiryuu apologized as he slowed his spinning and ended up right again and fell to the ground.\n\n\t\"That was really something,\" Flint stated as he walked toward the Starmon to shake his hand, but he fell over backwards in a daze. \"Are you alright?\"\n\n\t\"Ugh. Excuse me,\" he groaned as he got up. Flint helped steady him since he was still moving a little off balance. \"That move is strong, but the spinning always makes me dizzy.\"\n\n\t\"Well it certainly got the job done, albeit I was almost sent to the recycling bin as well,\" commented Flint. \"No offense of course. Well I better find the rest of my team before any of them get hurt, namely Rex.\"\n\n\t\"Not so fast,\" stated Hiryuu as he grabbed Flint's arm. \"We're not done here.\"\n\n\t\"What are you talking about?\" asked Flint \n\n\t\"There's still the matter of the treasure on board. Only one of us can claim it which is why we're going to fight over it.\"\n\n\t\"We didn't even know that there was treasure here,\" argued Flint. \"We don't want it. We just want to get back to land.\"\n\n\t\"Be that as it may,\" countered Hiryuu. \"You found the ship first meaning it's yours and the only way I can obtain it is to fight with you.\" He readied his throwing stars indicating he wasn't planning on pulling any punches. \"So I'd suggested you give this your all.\"\n\n\tWith that he began his attack.\n\n\tDo, Re, and Mi made it below deck before Hiryuu began his attack much to their relief. They initially planned to wait until he finished before going back outside until they heard a ruckus down below and went to investigate. They found Dan, Jack, and Fonz and they were busy fiddling with something. The three Gekomon tried to see, but they couldn't see behind their backs, but soon enough Dan held it up revealing Rex tied to a dart board. With a content look on his face he stuck it to the wall.\n\n\t\"Can't we talk about this guys?\" asked Rex pleadingly. Still fueled by blind rage they didn't answer, but proceeded to grab anything sharp they could find. \"You're going to regret all this afterwards. As for me, I'm really going to regret it.\" They took their positions a few feet away and picked a body part. \"I'd also like to discuss this whole tying me up thing. I didn't want to say anything, but I'm not really into this kind of thing and quite frankly I think I look rather ridiculous.\"\n\n\tThen with a blood thirsty look in their eyes they threw their \"darts\" at Rex who shut his eyes unable to watch his own demise. To his surprise he didn't feel pain or his internal organs skewered so he opened his eyes to see they had missed him. There was a sword just below him in the obligatory right below the crotch spot and a knife so close to the top of his head he could faintly feel the blade against his scalp. The last \"dart,\" the spear was by far the most impressively thrown one. It didn't hit him like the rest, but it somehow managed to go through the hole in the earring he was wearing.\n\n\t\"What happened?\" asked Rex amazed that he was no worse for wear. As he looked at his friends they didn't seem demonically possessed anymore.\n\n\t\"What are you doing up there?\" asked Fonz sounding innocent of his involvement.\n\n\t\"You three put me up here,\" he complained.\n\n\t\"I don't recall doing such a thing,\" explained Dan.\n\n\t\"You did it over some misplaced rage over Angel falling for me or something and it seems you got over it just in time,\" uttered Rex.\n\n\t\"Do you really think we would be so immature as to do that?\" asked \n\n\t\"Yes,\" Rex said plain and simple. He stared them all down with a skeptical look that ate away at their poker faces and could see the guilt pouring down their faces as sweat. \"You all totally remember everything.\" Quickly Rex's own rage spiked and his blue scales almost appeared bright red. \"Get me down this instant!\"\n\n\t\"Right away,\" cried Dan fearfully.\n\n\t\"Maybe we should wait,\" suggested Jack. \"Until he's calmed down.\"\n\n\t\"That'll just make him angrier,\" argued Fonz.\n\n\tAs they argued this Do, Re, and Mi entered the room looking quite frightened as they hid behind them for protection. This was the first time they turned their focus away from their own petty squabbling to consider what was happening around them. It was then that they started hearing some noises coming from all around them.\n\n\t\"What's going on?\" asked Dan.\n\n\t\"They're coming back,\" cried Do trembling.\n\n\t\"Who?\" asked Fonz.\n\n\tBefore they were able to answer the noises grew louder and they could clearly here the sounds of growling voices muttering, \"Argh!\" The next thing they knew was the skeletal creatures burst through the walls in vast numbers as well as causing water to leak in through the cracks. In no time at all they were being surrounded. Even Rex's rage was quelled. He felt particularly vulnerable being tied up on the wall as a small group crowded him with ill intent.\n\n\t\"Guess we're fighting,\" said Dan feeling his muscles tense.\n\n\t\"That's fine with me,\" added Fonz. \"But where's Flint and that other guy?\"\n\n\t\"They're probably fighting upstairs,\" answered Re.\n\n\t\"How many of these guys are there?\" asked Jack nervously.\n\n\t\"By now they should be fighting each other,\" explained Mi.\n\n\t\"Each other?\" repeated Dan. \"What are they thinking? This is hardly the situation to be fighting each other. Can't they put their personal quarrels behind them until we're back on dry land?\" He was answered by an angry groan from Rex.\n\n\tStars darted at Flint as he maneuvered around the ship to avoid them, but with Hiryuu's impeccable aim it seemed like he wasn't safe anywhere went. The wind had also begun to pick up causing the boat the shake a rock violently ushering in the storm Flint had seen earlier and rain began to drizzle down. Despite all this Hiryuu's attacks didn't seem hampered in the least though the rain was proving a distraction for Flint as they helped better conceal the stars till they were too close caused a few the knick him in the arms and legs. They stung painfully, but he knew it'd been far worse if he got hit directly.\n\n\t\"Don't tell me this is the best you can do?\" asked Hiryuu as he stopped attacking. \"I had expected a bit more from seeing you fight, but I guess you aren't quite ready to for a superstar like me. You can give up now.\"\n\n\tFlint took the ceasefire to catch his breath and then turned to Hiryuu a determined look on his face. \"Thanks, but I think I've changed my mind,\" he answered him. \"I actually haven't been having too much fun on this trip, but this might just turn things around.\"\n\n\tHiryuu grinned. \"That's the spirit. It wouldn't do justice to end this fight half finished. So let's pick up where we left off.\" The ceasefire ended and Hiryuu resumed his assault.\n\n\tRemaining in the fight might not have been the best option for Flint, but he couldn't allow himself to fold now. As the stars flew at him he had to resume avoiding them as best he could. As the rain poured down harder making visibility diminish and the ground wet and slippery. Lucky for Flint, Hiryuu's aim was starting to worse as well giving him more time to think. As long as he had the range advantage there was not much he could do besides dodge. His Torch Breath attack wasn't going to be much help if he couldn't get a moment to use it and even then it'd be diminished quickly in the rain unless he used it point blank on him. The inspiration hit him as he ran towards the door leading into the ship and shut the door right before several stars hit him.\n\n\t\"Must be trying to come at me from below,\" thought Hiryuu. \"I'll be ready for him.\"\n\n\tInside the ship Flint was alarmed to see it was crawling with the Fragments from before and his team trying their best to fight them off in such close quarters. Dan was doing his best to keep them away while he had Do, Re, and Mi hiding in his backpack peeking out every so often only to duck back inside. Fonz was hastily trying to reclaim his afro that the Fragments had managed to take from him and started playing keep away with. The only one who was having it even rougher was Rex. He may not have been hanging on the wall anymore, but he was still tied to the dart board. The skeleton Fragments were having a blast tossing him through the air like a Frisbee. To add salt the wounds Jack was joining in on the fun.\n\n\t\"Flint!\" cried Dan trying shake off a couple dozen of the creatures clinging all over his body like they were glued to it. \"Thank goodness you're here. We could really use some help.\"\n\n\t\"Sorry, I don't have time,\" apologized Flint as he got into a running stance. \"Maybe after I get done with my fight.\"\n\n\t\"But,\" began Dan his legs wobbling as he tried to keep his balance with the number of Fragment's on his back steadily increasing. Flint didn't listen as he dashed at the door and tore it off at the hinges.\n\n\n\tHiryuu had been listening carefully to the ground expecting Flint to burst through the woodwork any second. However, he was greatly surprised to hear the crashing noise come from the door Flint had just entered through let alone the sight of the door come flying at him. At first he assumed Flint had simply rammed at the door to startle him and drop his guard, but after it jumped to the railing dividing the upper deck from the lower deck he realized Flint was running with the door in front of him as a shield. In response, he flung a barrage of stars at him, but the door absorbed the attacks with ease.\n\n\t\"Not bad,\" complimented Hiryuu. \"You have to be pretty gung-ho to pull a crazy stunt like that, but I hope you weren't expecting to win with that gambit.\"\n\n\tWith the flick of his wrists he reveals a pair of large stars. When the door came within range he used them to cut through the wooden door like butter and turned it into scraps before Flint even reached the ground. Even so he was too late as smoke was already seeping through Flint's nostrils and mouth and a moment later he opened his mouth and a burst of fire poured out and oozed onto Hiryuu.\n\n\nTORCH BREATH\n\n\n\tThe force of the attack was enough to scorch the deck they were standing on and knock Hiryuu back several feet, but the downpour quickly extinguished the blaze. Flint watched and waited to see if his opponent would get up again. Suddenly, his head felt dizzy and he dropped to his knees trying to focus.\n\n\t\"What's going on?\" he moaned. \"I thought I was better.\"\n\n\t\"That was a temporary fix,\" explained Hiryuu as he got to his feet. \"It should have lasted longer, but it seems that attack you just used burned up your time a lot faster. If only it wasn't raining it might have done the trick, but it was not enough as a result. If that's all you've got then you better give up now.\"\n\n\t\"Sorry, but I'm not ready to give up yet,\" groaned Flint as he stuck his claws into the boards of the ship and pried one loose. \"I've never been good at knowing when to quit.\"\n\n\t\"Then this might hurt a bit,\" he replied as he started his barrage of stars anew.\n\n\tBack below deck things had hardly gotten any better as the Fragments continued to torment them. They shrieked, \"Argh!\" repeatedly into their ears well past the point of madness. Dan was under a dog pile of the beasts covering his ears to shut out the chanting. Fonz had finally tired them out of their game of monkey in the middle and grabbed onto his afro. The only problem now was he spurred them into a game tug-of-fro between him and a group of the Fragments with many more cheering as they watched. Jack was still playing Frisbee with Rex who had gone from dizzy to sick, to annoyed, and was now simply bored as he kept exchanging hands between his short flights.\n\n\t\"Is Flint coming soon?\" asked Fonz struggling to keep his grip on his afro.\n\n\t\"Who knows,\" replied Dan. \"Though this is hardly as serious as I thought at first. These guys are more annoying than dangerous. Kind of like a lot of undead pirate juvenile delinquents.\"\n\n\t\"Explains why Jack seems to be getting along with them,\" commented Fonz. \"Speaking of the devil, care to give me a hand?\"\n\n\t\"What?\" he asked trying to sound innocent.\n\n\t\"Care to give me a hand,\" he groaned.\n\n\t\"Fine,\" he replied as he tossed Rex over at the Fragment's opposing Fonz and knocked them away helping Fonz retrieve his afro. He stared at his prize with a mournful look as it had been stretched out of shape. The Fragments didn't seem very happy either and their chanting only intensified.\n\n\t\"I think we stirred up the hornets' nest this time,\" cried Dan.\n\n\t\"You know I didn't mean anything by it,\" pleaded Jack as the Fragments grabbed his arms to play tug-of-war with him.\n\n\t\"Is anybody going to free me anytime soon,\" complained Rex.\n\n\tWhile the others were trapped Fonz stood there holding his afro and trembling. \"They destroyed you,\" he cried. \"But you shall have your revenge!\"\n\n\tHis cry startled the Fragments and caught their attention as he got to work rubbing the fake hair between his hands faster and faster causing sparks to fly as a result of static electricity. It grew stronger and stronger causing a blinding flash of light to fill the room and his fur to stand on end. Still he kept it up till it was constantly discharging small sparks all over the place.\n\n\t\"You like to play with afros,\" he shouted. \"Well here's more fro than you can handle!\" With that he smooshed it with his hands and then \"BOOM!!!\" it glowed bright as light filled the room and the next thing everyone knew something big and hairy filled the room entangling everybody there. It wasn't hard for them to figure out what it was even before the light faded and all they could see was long black strands of hair all over the place.\n\n\t\"That was interesting,\" stated Dan not expecting something like this in his wildest dreams to ever happen along with a ton of other oddities he encountered since his first day with Team Matrix.\n\n\t\"Yeah,\" added Jack with more annoyance in his voice. \"You trapped them and us as well.\"\n\n\t\"Now you know how I feel,\" stated Rex. \"But I'm sorry for your loss Fonz.\"\n\n\t\"It's alright,\" replied Fonz. \"I've got plenty more where that came from. I'll be back with a fro in no time.\"\n\n\t\"That's all fine and dandy,\" commented Jack. \"But how do we get out of here now?\"\n\n\t\"Wait for Flint to come get us,\" admitted Fonz seeing how much of a folly this had been.\n\n\t\"At least it's soft,\" joked Rex. \"What kind of shampoo and conditioner you use on this thing?\"\n\n\t\"That's a trade secret,\" replied Fonz.\n\n\n\tBack above deck Flint and Hiryuu were continuing their fight with Hiryuu flinging stars at Flint who was blocking them with any part of the ship he could tear off to use as a shield. Their fight had grown into a battle of endurance as Flint's seasickness was threatening to force him to his knees. Hiryuu was slowing down as well, Flint's attack taking more of a toll on him than he expected. His burns were making it hard to attack. Finally, they reached their limits simultaneously and fell to their knees unable to continue.\n\n\t\"What say we split anything we find,\" suggested Hiryuu gasping for breath.\n\n\t\"Sounds good to me,\" panted Flint. \"I'm willing to accept a tie. Now if I recall the rest of our team needs our help.\"\n\n\t\"That might be a problem,\" replied Hiryuu. \"I can't even get up now.\"\n\n\t\"Would a bigger problem fix that?\" asked Flint nervously and staring fearfully behind him.\n\n\t\"I'm almost afraid to ask,\" stated Hiryuu as he turned to look and saw the monstrous tsunami coming down on the ship.\n\n\tThere was nothing anybody could do but watch as it crashed down on the ship with the force of a meteor. The ship was torn apart instantly and only the wreckage surfaced. There was no sight of anybody on board.",

Hiryuu apologized as he slowed his spinning and ended up right again and fell to the ground.<br /><br />\t&quot;That was really something,&quot; Flint stated as he walked toward the Starmon to shake his hand, but he fell over backwards in a daze.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; Are you alright?&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Ugh.&nbsp;&nbsp;Excuse me,&quot; he groaned as he got up.&nbsp;&nbsp;Flint helped steady him since he was still moving a little off balance.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; That move is strong, but the spinning always makes me dizzy.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Well it certainly got the job done, albeit I was almost sent to the recycling bin as well,&quot; commented Flint.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; No offense of course.&nbsp;&nbsp;Well I better find the rest of my team before any of them get hurt, namely Rex.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Not so fast,&quot; stated Hiryuu as he grabbed Flint&#039;s arm.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;We&#039;re not done here.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;What are you talking about?&quot; asked Flint <br /><br />\t&quot;There&#039;s still the matter of the treasure on board.&nbsp;&nbsp;Only one of us can claim it which is why we&#039;re going to fight over it.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;We didn&#039;t even know that there was treasure here,&quot; argued Flint.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; We don&#039;t want it.&nbsp;&nbsp; We just want to get back to land.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Be that as it may,&quot; countered Hiryuu.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; You found the ship first meaning it&#039;s yours and the only way I can obtain it is to fight with you.&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; He readied his throwing stars indicating he wasn&#039;t planning on pulling any punches.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; So I&#039;d suggested you give this your all.&quot;<br /><br />\tWith that he began his attack.<br /><br />\tDo, Re, and Mi made it below deck before Hiryuu began his attack much to their relief.&nbsp;&nbsp; They initially planned to wait until he finished before going back outside until they heard a ruckus down below and went to investigate.&nbsp;&nbsp; They found Dan, Jack, and Fonz and they were busy fiddling with something.&nbsp;&nbsp; The three Gekomon tried to see, but they couldn&#039;t see behind their backs, but soon enough Dan held it up revealing Rex tied to a dart board.&nbsp;&nbsp; With a content look on his face he stuck it to the wall.<br /><br />\t&quot;Can&#039;t we talk about this guys?&quot; asked Rex pleadingly.&nbsp;&nbsp;Still fueled by blind rage they didn&#039;t answer, but proceeded to grab anything sharp they could find.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;You&#039;re going to regret all this afterwards.&nbsp;&nbsp; As for me, I&#039;m really going to regret it.&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; They took their positions a few feet away and picked a body part.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;I&#039;d also like to discuss this whole tying me up thing.&nbsp;&nbsp;I didn&#039;t want to say anything, but I&#039;m not really into this kind of thing and quite frankly I think I look rather ridiculous.&quot;<br /><br />\tThen with a blood thirsty look in their eyes they threw their &quot;darts&quot; at Rex who shut his eyes unable to watch his own demise.&nbsp;&nbsp; To his surprise he didn&#039;t feel pain or his internal organs skewered so he opened his eyes to see they had missed him.&nbsp;&nbsp; There was a sword just below him in the obligatory right below the crotch spot and a knife so close to the top of his head he could faintly feel the blade against his scalp.&nbsp;&nbsp; The last &quot;dart,&quot; the spear was by far the most impressively thrown one.&nbsp;&nbsp; It didn&#039;t hit him like the rest, but it somehow managed to go through the hole in the earring he was wearing.<br /><br />\t&quot;What happened?&quot; asked Rex amazed that he was no worse for wear.&nbsp;&nbsp; As he looked at his friends they didn&#039;t seem demonically possessed anymore.<br /><br />\t&quot;What are you doing up there?&quot; asked Fonz sounding innocent of his involvement.<br /><br />\t&quot;You three put me up here,&quot; he complained.<br /><br />\t&quot;I don&#039;t recall doing such a thing,&quot; explained Dan.<br /><br />\t&quot;You did it over some misplaced rage over Angel falling for me or something and it seems you got over it just in time,&quot; uttered Rex.<br /><br />\t&quot;Do you really think we would be so immature as to do that?&quot; asked <br /><br />\t&quot;Yes,&quot; Rex said plain and simple.&nbsp;&nbsp; He stared them all down with a skeptical look that ate away at their poker faces and could see the guilt pouring down their faces as sweat.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; You all totally remember everything.&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp;Quickly Rex&#039;s own rage spiked and his blue scales almost appeared bright red.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Get me down this instant!&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Right away,&quot; cried Dan fearfully.<br /><br />\t&quot;Maybe we should wait,&quot; suggested Jack.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Until he&#039;s calmed down.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;That&#039;ll just make him angrier,&quot; argued Fonz.<br /><br />\tAs they argued this Do, Re, and Mi entered the room looking quite frightened as they hid behind them for protection.&nbsp;&nbsp; This was the first time they turned their focus away from their own petty squabbling to consider what was happening around them.&nbsp;&nbsp; It was then that they started hearing some noises coming from all around them.<br /><br />\t&quot;What&#039;s going on?&quot; asked Dan.<br /><br />\t&quot;They&#039;re coming back,&quot; cried Do trembling.<br /><br />\t&quot;Who?&quot; asked Fonz.<br /><br />\tBefore they were able to answer the noises grew louder and they could clearly here the sounds of growling voices muttering, &quot;Argh!&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; The next thing they knew was the skeletal creatures burst through the walls in vast numbers as well as causing water to leak in through the cracks.&nbsp;&nbsp; In no time at all they were being surrounded.&nbsp;&nbsp;Even Rex&#039;s rage was quelled.&nbsp;&nbsp; He felt particularly vulnerable being tied up on the wall as a small group crowded him with ill intent.<br /><br />\t&quot;Guess we&#039;re fighting,&quot; said Dan feeling his muscles tense.<br /><br />\t&quot;That&#039;s fine with me,&quot; added Fonz.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; But where&#039;s Flint and that other guy?&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;They&#039;re probably fighting upstairs,&quot; answered Re.<br /><br />\t&quot;How many of these guys are there?&quot; asked Jack nervously.<br /><br />\t&quot;By now they should be fighting each other,&quot; explained Mi.<br /><br />\t&quot;Each other?&quot; repeated Dan.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; What are they thinking?&nbsp;&nbsp; This is hardly the situation to be fighting each other.&nbsp;&nbsp;Can&#039;t they put their personal quarrels behind them until we&#039;re back on dry land?&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; He was answered by an angry groan from Rex.<br /><br />\tStars darted at Flint as he maneuvered around the ship to avoid them, but with Hiryuu&#039;s impeccable aim it seemed like he wasn&#039;t safe anywhere went.&nbsp;&nbsp; The wind had also begun to pick up causing the boat the shake a rock violently ushering in the storm Flint had seen earlier and rain began to drizzle down.&nbsp;&nbsp;Despite all this Hiryuu&#039;s attacks didn&#039;t seem hampered in the least though the rain was proving a distraction for Flint as they helped better conceal the stars till they were too close caused a few the knick him in the arms and legs.&nbsp;&nbsp; They stung painfully, but he knew it&#039;d been far worse if he got hit directly.<br /><br />\t&quot;Don&#039;t tell me this is the best you can do?&quot; asked Hiryuu as he stopped attacking.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;I had expected a bit more from seeing you fight, but I guess you aren&#039;t quite ready to for a superstar like me.&nbsp;&nbsp; You can give up now.&quot;<br /><br />\tFlint took the ceasefire to catch his breath and then turned to Hiryuu a determined look on his face.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; Thanks, but I think I&#039;ve changed my mind,&quot; he answered him.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;I actually haven&#039;t been having too much fun on this trip, but this might just turn things around.&quot;<br /><br />\tHiryuu grinned.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;That&#039;s the spirit.&nbsp;&nbsp; It wouldn&#039;t do justice to end this fight half finished.&nbsp;&nbsp; So let&#039;s pick up where we left off.&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; The ceasefire ended and Hiryuu resumed his assault.<br /><br />\tRemaining in the fight might not have been the best option for Flint, but he couldn&#039;t allow himself to fold now.&nbsp;&nbsp; As the stars flew at him he had to resume avoiding them as best he could.&nbsp;&nbsp; As the rain poured down harder making visibility diminish and the ground wet and slippery.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lucky for Flint, Hiryuu&#039;s aim was starting to worse as well giving him more time to think.&nbsp;&nbsp; As long as he had the range advantage there was not much he could do besides dodge.&nbsp;&nbsp; His Torch Breath attack wasn&#039;t going to be much help if he couldn&#039;t get a moment to use it and even then it&#039;d be diminished quickly in the rain unless he used it point blank on him.&nbsp;&nbsp; The inspiration hit him as he ran towards the door leading into the ship and shut the door right before several stars hit him.<br /><br />\t&quot;Must be trying to come at me from below,&quot; thought Hiryuu.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;I&#039;ll be ready for him.&quot;<br /><br />\tInside the ship Flint was alarmed to see it was crawling with the Fragments from before and his team trying their best to fight them off in such close quarters.&nbsp;&nbsp;Dan was doing his best to keep them away while he had Do, Re, and Mi hiding in his backpack peeking out every so often only to duck back inside.&nbsp;&nbsp;Fonz was hastily trying to reclaim his afro that the Fragments had managed to take from him and started playing keep away with.&nbsp;&nbsp; The only one who was having it even rougher was Rex.&nbsp;&nbsp; He may not have been hanging on the wall anymore, but he was still tied to the dart board. The skeleton Fragments were having a blast tossing him through the air like a Frisbee.&nbsp;&nbsp; To add salt the wounds Jack was joining in on the fun.<br /><br />\t&quot;Flint!&quot; cried Dan trying shake off a couple dozen of the creatures clinging all over his body like they were glued to it.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Thank goodness you&#039;re here.&nbsp;&nbsp; We could really use some help.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Sorry, I don&#039;t have time,&quot; apologized Flint as he got into a running stance.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Maybe after I get done with my fight.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;But,&quot; began Dan his legs wobbling as he tried to keep his balance with the number of Fragment&#039;s on his back steadily increasing.&nbsp;&nbsp;Flint didn&#039;t listen as he dashed at the door and tore it off at the hinges.<br /><br /><br />\tHiryuu had been listening carefully to the ground expecting Flint to burst through the woodwork any second.&nbsp;&nbsp; However, he was greatly surprised to hear the crashing noise come from the door Flint had just entered through let alone the sight of the door come flying at him.&nbsp;&nbsp; At first he assumed Flint had simply rammed at the door to startle him and drop his guard, but after it jumped to the railing dividing the upper deck from the lower deck he realized Flint was running with the door in front of him as a shield.&nbsp;&nbsp; In response, he flung a barrage of stars at him, but the door absorbed the attacks with ease.<br /><br />\t&quot;Not bad,&quot; complimented Hiryuu.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; You have to be pretty gung-ho to pull a crazy stunt like that, but I hope you weren&#039;t expecting to win with that gambit.&quot;<br /><br />\tWith the flick of his wrists he reveals a pair of large stars. When the door came within range he used them to cut through the wooden door like butter and turned it into scraps before Flint even reached the ground.&nbsp;&nbsp;Even so he was too late as smoke was already seeping through Flint&#039;s nostrils and mouth and a moment later he opened his mouth and a burst of fire poured out and oozed onto Hiryuu.<br /><br /><br />TORCH BREATH<br /><br /><br />\tThe force of the attack was enough to scorch the deck they were standing on and knock Hiryuu back several feet, but the downpour quickly extinguished the blaze.&nbsp;&nbsp;Flint watched and waited to see if his opponent would get up again.&nbsp;&nbsp;Suddenly, his head felt dizzy and he dropped to his knees trying to focus.<br /><br />\t&quot;What&#039;s going on?&quot; he moaned.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;I thought I was better.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;That was a temporary fix,&quot; explained Hiryuu as he got to his feet.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; It should have lasted longer, but it seems that attack you just used burned up your time a lot faster.&nbsp;&nbsp; If only it wasn&#039;t raining it might have done the trick, but it was not enough as a result.&nbsp;&nbsp; If that&#039;s all you&#039;ve got then you better give up now.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Sorry, but I&#039;m not ready to give up yet,&quot; groaned Flint as he stuck his claws into the boards of the ship and pried one loose.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;I&#039;ve never been good at knowing when to quit.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Then this might hurt a bit,&quot; he replied as he started his barrage of stars anew.<br /><br />\tBack below deck things had hardly gotten any better as the Fragments continued to torment them.&nbsp;&nbsp; They shrieked, &quot;Argh!&quot; repeatedly into their ears well past the point of madness.&nbsp;&nbsp;Dan was under a dog pile of the beasts covering his ears to shut out the chanting.&nbsp;&nbsp;Fonz had finally tired them out of their game of monkey in the middle and grabbed onto his afro.&nbsp;&nbsp; The only problem now was he spurred them into a game tug-of-fro between him and a group of the Fragments with many more cheering as they watched.&nbsp;&nbsp;Jack was still playing Frisbee with Rex who had gone from dizzy to sick, to annoyed, and was now simply bored as he kept exchanging hands between his short flights.<br /><br />\t&quot;Is Flint coming soon?&quot; asked Fonz struggling to keep his grip on his afro.<br /><br />\t&quot;Who knows,&quot; replied Dan.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Though this is hardly as serious as I thought at first.&nbsp;&nbsp; These guys are more annoying than dangerous.&nbsp;&nbsp;Kind of like a lot of undead pirate juvenile delinquents.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Explains why Jack seems to be getting along with them,&quot; commented Fonz.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Speaking of the devil, care to give me a hand?&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;What?&quot; he asked trying to sound innocent.<br /><br />\t&quot;Care to give me a hand,&quot; he groaned.<br /><br />\t&quot;Fine,&quot; he replied as he tossed Rex over at the Fragment&#039;s opposing Fonz and knocked them away helping Fonz retrieve his afro.&nbsp;&nbsp; He stared at his prize with a mournful look as it had been stretched out of shape.&nbsp;&nbsp; The Fragments didn&#039;t seem very happy either and their chanting only intensified.<br /><br />\t&quot;I think we stirred up the hornets&#039; nest this time,&quot; cried Dan.<br /><br />\t&quot;You know I didn&#039;t mean anything by it,&quot; pleaded Jack as the Fragments grabbed his arms to play tug-of-war with him.<br /><br />\t&quot;Is anybody going to free me anytime soon,&quot; complained Rex.<br /><br />\tWhile the others were trapped Fonz stood there holding his afro and trembling.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; They destroyed you,&quot; he cried.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; But you shall have your revenge!&quot;<br /><br />\tHis cry startled the Fragments and caught their attention as he got to work rubbing the fake hair between his hands faster and faster causing sparks to fly as a result of static electricity.&nbsp;&nbsp; It grew stronger and stronger causing a blinding flash of light to fill the room and his fur to stand on end.&nbsp;&nbsp;Still he kept it up till it was constantly discharging small sparks all over the place.<br /><br />\t&quot;You like to play with afros,&quot; he shouted.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Well here&#039;s more fro than you can handle!&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; With that he smooshed it with his hands and then &quot;BOOM!!!&quot; it glowed bright as light filled the room and the next thing everyone knew something big and hairy filled the room entangling everybody there.&nbsp;&nbsp; It wasn&#039;t hard for them to figure out what it was even before the light faded and all they could see was long black strands of hair all over the place.<br /><br />\t&quot;That was interesting,&quot; stated Dan not expecting something like this in his wildest dreams to ever happen along with a ton of other oddities he encountered since his first day with Team Matrix.<br /><br />\t&quot;Yeah,&quot; added Jack with more annoyance in his voice.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; You trapped them and us as well.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Now you know how I feel,&quot; stated Rex.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; But I&#039;m sorry for your loss Fonz.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;It&#039;s alright,&quot; replied Fonz.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;I&#039;ve got plenty more where that came from.&nbsp;&nbsp;I&#039;ll be back with a fro in no time.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;That&#039;s all fine and dandy,&quot; commented Jack.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; But how do we get out of here now?&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Wait for Flint to come get us,&quot; admitted Fonz seeing how much of a folly this had been.<br /><br />\t&quot;At least it&#039;s soft,&quot; joked Rex.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot; What kind of shampoo and conditioner you use on this thing?&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;That&#039;s a trade secret,&quot; replied Fonz.<br /><br /><br />\tBack above deck Flint and Hiryuu were continuing their fight with Hiryuu flinging stars at Flint who was blocking them with any part of the ship he could tear off to use as a shield.&nbsp;&nbsp;Their fight had grown into a battle of endurance as Flint&#039;s seasickness was threatening to force him to his knees.&nbsp;&nbsp;Hiryuu was slowing down as well, Flint&#039;s attack taking more of a toll on him than he expected.&nbsp;&nbsp; His burns were making it hard to attack.&nbsp;&nbsp; Finally, they reached their limits simultaneously and fell to their knees unable to continue.<br /><br />\t&quot;What say we split anything we find,&quot; suggested Hiryuu gasping for breath.<br /><br />\t&quot;Sounds good to me,&quot; panted Flint.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;I&#039;m willing to accept a tie.&nbsp;&nbsp; Now if I recall the rest of our team needs our help.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;That might be a problem,&quot; replied Hiryuu.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;I can&#039;t even get up now.&quot;<br /><br />\t&quot;Would a bigger problem fix that?&quot; asked Flint nervously and staring fearfully behind him.<br /><br />\t&quot;I&#039;m almost afraid to ask,&quot; stated Hiryuu as he turned to look and saw the monstrous tsunami coming down on the ship.<br /><br />\tThere was nothing anybody could do but watch as it crashed down on the ship with the force of a meteor.&nbsp;&nbsp; The ship was torn apart instantly and only the wreckage surfaced.&nbsp;&nbsp; There was no sight of anybody on board.</span>",
