And for somebody who not only appreciates bottom-heavy dragons and 90s-style animation but also gets commissions inspired by them as much as he does, imagine how I felt when he asked me to do a reference sheet for DTZ! Being a naturally-born-furry 90s kid myself, I gotta say it was kind of an honor. ^^ In addition, he specifically asked me to do it in the same style that I did Yotie’s, another aficionado of the television era of animation, wherein they’re parts of an animation studio. It was fun to revisit that.
But something else that we have in common is our idea of who DTZ is! If you’ve ever watched the episode of Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers from which he originates, DTZ is a shapeshifting alien who splits away from his crew and lands on Earth because he’s tired of the responsibility of an invader and just wants to have fun! He meets Dale, in whom he sees a kindred spirit, but only until DTZ’s comrades locate him, at which point DTZ decides it’s more beneficial to send Dale back in his stead and take Dale’s place on Earth. So not only is DTZ a slacker, but he’s kind of a selfish dick! Normally, that’s something worth condemning. But when it’s a leering, cocky, girthy dragon who’s the dick, some people may see that and go, “Hot.”
I’ve mentioned before in earlier pieces of DTZ that for the hedonistic, Earth can either be Heaven or Hell! Heaven in that there is no end to the amount of deviant indulgences one can find, and Hell for all the trouble one can find oneself in for succumbing to temptation. Granted, being a shapeshifter changes the game a bit… and I don’t know about you, but walking in my home and seeing a rotund, slovenly, scaly beast taking up my entire couch watching TV, thick tail slumped lazily over the edge, one claw gripping the remote while the other idle hand acts as the devil’s plaything by fondling his saggy genitals as if it was an entirely autonomous action he himself was unaware of… I’d be more inclined to ask the lazy leviathan if there’s anywhere on his disgusting body in need of scratching he can’t be bothered to take care of himself!
Not that I wouldn’t EVER want any degenerate dragon of mine to leave that spot; there’s so much out in the world to see! There’s dark alleys to lurk and snatch people into, teratophiles to fulfill the dreams of, forests full of fun critters to transform into and fuck… and that’s all before DTZ even begins to get imaginative! As soon as DTZ learns how fun being nasty can be, I’d want him to share that nastiness with anyone and everyone he can! Hey, hey, GET IN LINE.
Come to think of it, this all kinda sounds familiar… do I have a type?
