  "description": "Last week, two things happened.\n1) I went back and re-read an old Guild Wars 2-based fan fiction short story I'd written about a couple Charr characters of mine. I haven't touched the game in years, but I'm still pleased with how the story came out so they were hanging around in my brain.\n2) The UK general election happened. The Conservative party won, by quite a large margin. The implications of this are varied, but from my own personal perspective pretty grim. I have a lot of people I care about who are shocked, horrified, and frightened by the result and what it means both for them and the country as a whole.\n\nIn the Guild Wars 2 lore, at least the last time I checked in, which was going on ten years ago now or something, the Flame Legion used to control the entire Charr civilisation before their fascist theocracy was overthrown and the other Legions rose to power and began moving the species toward a brighter and more sensible future. Pictured here, my characters Karkev Thunderpaw and Rhiroo Sparkpaw have found themselves in the middle of a massive ambush by a Flame Legion remnant band. They're exhausted, they've already lost a lot of comrades, but they're not going to lose any more and they're not going to give up.\n\nThey're about as fed up with hatred, racism, fascism, xenophobia, and exploitation of the marginalised by the powerful as I am.
