Do you know which way I have to go?'' he asked as she reached the bottom floor, blushing a little.\n\n\"Oh, I know you, Lire. I-I mean... Well...I've been...kinda a fan of yours...''\n\n\"So those cameras I saw behind rocks and bushes weren't a hallucination like Sans told me! They're yours!'' Lire said as he scratched his head.\n\n\"Y-Yeah... Um, but it's fine. My name is Alphys. Nice to meet you. I've noticed how friendly you are with monsters... I need to reach the barrier so I can figure out a way to cross it peacefully. I have no interest in killing anyone... You guys are nice.''\n\nAlphys' face turned into a look of hesitation. She sighed, letting her breasts bounce a little as she adjusted the front of her coat. Lire blushed a bit at the gleam of her breast skin.\n\n\"Listen... Um... You...aren't ready for Asgore. And frankly...with you being this nice...you never will be. He'll chew you up and spit you out. He doesn't have MERCY for anyone, especially an outsider like yourself. No amount of talking will change that. Why not stay here and become my lab assistant? We'd have many great conversations...and experiments... I wouldn't mind you being...um...overly friendly with me... I'm sure you can have a fun time...behind me...'' she said as her eyes darted nervously.\n\n\"You remind me of someone else I know... She wanted me to avoid the trouble in this world and stay with her. And I told her the same thing I'm gonna tell you. I'm not afraid of confronting someone with the intent of killing me.''\n\nAlphys sighed in annoyance, walking forward towards a washroom. She opened the door, pointing inside.\n\n\"Fine. And yes, I know you said that to Toriel. Remember, I have eyes everywhere. But ok. I want to believe you'll be able to handle your own hide, but I don't. So...here are my terms,'' she said as she pulled out a remote, pressing a button.\n\nBoth doors that lead out of the lab clicked, locking up.\n\n\"You can't leave now. But, I will allow you to prove yourself. I have left a device in my underground lab. If you can get through there and bring it back to me...I'll unlock the door.''\n\nLire gave her a look of determination as he walked towards the washroom, seeing the elevator in front of him.\n\n\"Very well. I'll be back,'' he said as she looked shocked by his abruptness.\n\n\"W-Wait! You don't even know what the device is! Or where it's located! Or what's down there!'' she said in frustration.\n\n\"Something important...probably in the back...and monsters that want to kill me. Got it. Anything else?'' Lire said as he pressed the elevator button, making the doors open.\n\n\"Ugh... It looks like a tablet. Everything else is right. But...you'll want to be careful. These monsters don't play around.''\n\n\"Alright. I'll be back soon. Nice to meet you by the way, Alphys!'' Lire said as he smiled at her while the doors closed.\n\nAs the elevator began lowering, Alphys snickered a bit as she took out her phone, dialing a number. She held it up to her ear, and in a couple of seconds, the receiver picked up.\n\n\"Hey, it's Alphys. Your little superstar is heading into the underground lab right now. Yeah, he was just as naive as ever... Ugh...you were right. Asgore would have talked him into lowering his guard, killing him on the spot. Oh? Don't worry. He won't be killed down there. I promise. But...I just hope he values his...DETERMINATION...'' she said, giggling nervously.\n\nMeanwhile, Lire rode the elevator for a couple of seconds before it stopped, having the door open. As Lire stepped out of the shaft, an eerie air plagued the dark corridor. Not a sound could be heard in the rooms in front of him.\n\n{Jeez...this place is pretty creepy. But...I know I can find her tablet!} Lire thought as he walked forward.\n\nHe walked into another room, seeing a panel with some words on it. They looked like lab entries. As he looked down the hall, multiple panels could be seen. As he walked and read, he saw the story of monsters being experimented on with DETERMINATION. His eyes analyzed the information...and grew more nervous and concerned as he went on. He saw a door in front of him, as well as a space in the wall with a red key inside a slot. He shrugged as he opened the door, reaching a room with multiple beds. \n\n\"Woah... Alphys did this kind of stuff... I guess she cares about her fellow monsters... Though...this sounds pretty dangerous to test on random ones...'' Lire said to himself.\n\n\"H...Hung...ry...'' an eerie voice said.\n\n\"Huh...? Who's there...?'' Lire said as he looked around.\n\nHe didn't see anyone there, but he felt a presence inside. He walked to one of the beds, seeing a yellow key under it.\n\n{Another key... Hmm...} he thought as he walked next to the bed, reaching under to grab it. \n\nAs he grabbed it, he felt something slimy touch his hand. He saw a tentacle touching his paw, making his eyes widen. When he looked up over the bed, he saw a gray, globby mass of creature's faces. One looked like a bird, while another looked like a weird face. Lire shot back, snatching the key as the creature flipped the bed angrily.\n\n\"W-What the heck is this thing!?'' Lire said unconfidently.\n\nThe creature looked pleased with his answer.\n\n\"You'll be with us shortly,'' it said as a tentacle shot out rapidly, encasing Lire's SOUL.\n\nLire didn't have a chance to react as he felt it sucking his SOUL. He grunted as he fell to one knee from the impact. Another tentacle shot to his forehead, attaching and beginning to inject something into him. My...n...no...!} Lire thought as his body radiated a gold light weakly, invigorating him. \n\nThe creature reacted in confusion as Lire pulled his face away, letting the tentacles on his face pop off. He slowly rose to his feet, panting a little as he grabbed the key. \n\n\"No... I won't...give you my...DETERMINATION!!!'' Lire yelled as he shined brightly, disintegrating the tentacle on his SOUL, causing it to relax.\n\nThe creature backed away in amazement as it wiggled.\n\n\"So...much...DETERMINATION! Give! Give!'' it said, shooting large tentacles at him.\n\nWith one finger, Lire blocked every single tentacle, making the creature unsure of its victory.\n\n\"No. I won't give it to you,'' Lire said as the creature whimpered, backing away.\n\n\"Oh well,'' it said as it ran away, slipping into a ventilation shaft.\n\nLire panted a little as his aura disappeared. He was invigorated from his shout, sighing in relief.\n\n\"It wanted my... Ergh... Whatever. I need to find that tablet.''\n\nHe saw a door in the upper room, walking into it and entering the hall. He saw more panels, as well as a fog that shrouded his vision a bit. It also smelled...a bit musky. Lire sniffed the air as he walked int another door, entering a narrow hall. He saw a bathtub ahead of him, and a dark, wavy figure behind the curtain. Lire gulped as he approached, securing his key in his pocket. As he approached, it continued to wave. As he gripped the curtain, he saw nothing there.\n\n\"Huh...? I guess I was just imagining it...'' Lire said as he eyed a green key in the tub. \"Ah, another key!''\n\nHe grabbed it, pocketing it quickly. Suddenly, however, something made a sound in the drain. He looked closer, and a glob of gray substance, similar to the creature from earlier, shot out of the drain, latching around Lire's head. He grunted and muffled with his face submerged in the gooey substance. He tried pulling against it, but it was too sticky to pull off. He felt that sucking feeling again as his energy felt attacked.\n\n{Rest... Mama Alphys will take care of you...just like she takes care of us...} it said in a childlike tone his head.\n\n{M-Mama...Alphys...!? I need to hurry...} Lire said as he began running down the hall.\n\nHe got to a part of the room where a large, goat head-shaped machine was in the middle of the room. It looked disabled and rusty. A panel next to it said that it was the DT Extraction Machine. \n\n\"DT... That must be...DETERMINATION! But...extraction!? I thought monsters were injected with it... Where did Alphys get the stuff anyway...?''\n\nSuddenly, the machine made a noise and began emitting a sweet, lulling tune. The waves of sound radiated through the fog, sounding like a female humming.\n\n\"Hmm... Mmm... Give Mama Alphys all your DETERMINATION, little souls... Relax and let my pets encapsulate you... Surrender to my melody...and the spirals...''\n\nLire felt even dizzier as the tune continued. More goo began to form behind him as footsteps could be heard. \n\n\"M...Melody...so...lovely...'' Lire said as he noticed the eye sockets in the machine begin to radiate rainbow-colored spirals.\n\nLire gritted his teeth as his aura came back. But his eyes began to mimic the spirals slowly. He couldn't move. The sound of the voice lulling him, as well as the hypnotic gaze from the machine, was making him docile. He felt a hand touch his crotch, and he looked down slowly, seeing Alphys stroking him with one hand while holding the small goo creature from the washroom.
