While Cadence was off on an important negotiation with the Bahaymian government officials, Shining took his daughter to swim in the large, clear oceans and dive within its depths. Flashing a water visibility spell on them both, they took to the waves and dove deep into the warm, crystal clear ocean, scattering schools of colourful fish as they submerged, Shining holding his daughter's hand as he cut through the water with ease.
Soon they reached the ocean floor and began exploring the reefs, weaving past the coral as Flurry played with the schools of fish, waving at them and bubbling playfully. Shining then showed Flurry a cave in which they both entered curiously and swam a ways up, it seemed to stretch under a huge stretch of cliffside and have a exit a long ways up the cave. At that point, Flurry was starting to strain from holding her breath for so long and swam to her father, signalling them to surface. He smiled and wrapped an arm around her, swimming towards the entrance.
However, a large wave shifted a piece of cliffside as it broke off, landing in the water with a large splash. Shining noticed the large piece of rock and landing into the water and grabbed his daughter close, the piece of cliff embedding into the sand and shifting the current as they were tossed about, Flurry holding onto his dad as tight as she could as they flipped backwards. As the current subsided, they noticed the rock had blocked off their exit. Shining tried to shift it with his bare hands, to no avail, then using his magic but it exerted energy which he needed to stay underwater.
Flurry held onto his dad and panicked, thinking they are trapped under here with no escape, Shining comforting and hugging his upset daughter. However, he noticed as he swam up a bit a light at the end of the cavern. It seemed like a very long swim but if he were to carry her daughter and swim as fast as he could, they might have a chance. He gave his daughter a breath of his air as they locked lips briefly, helping her to calm down as he signalled her to climb onto his back.
As the young filly wrapped her hands around his collarbone, the stallion checked she was holding on tight and pushed off the rock, taking off like a shot as he pumped his arms and legs and deftly cut through the water, Flurry holding on as hard as she could, kicking her legs to help. The two were short on air, but it wasn't going to stop them from escaping, he was sure of that. He could hear his daughter struggle to hold her breath as they swam deeper into the cave, tightening his resolve and kicking harder.
The cave was getting brighter, the exit was nearing as Flurry was nearing her breaking point, Shining used his strength to swim with all his might and get them out of the cave.
"Don't worry, honey. I'll get us out of this cave, just hold on!"
