"writing": " The pleasant scent of soft blue fur awoke Colby as he pressed his nose into the back of Smooch’s neck, wrapping her in his arm from behind in a tight squeeze. For a few minutes, he almost forgot what today was; all he could think about was how he never wanted to leave this bed. But unlike the first time he’d slept in Smooch’s bed upon first arriving in Pawston, this morning was far different. For him, this feeling in his heart couldn’t be further from that pain he’d felt that first night under these covers. Because against all odds, Colby felt truly happy again. He felt loved again.\n Love.\n That was when Colby finally remembered - today was…\n ‘Today’s our wedding,’ he whispered, squeezing Smooch even tighter. \n “Mhh… Colby… it’s hard to breathe…” he heard a soft grumble in return.\n “Oh, sorry,” he replied, loosening his grip. ‘I just can’t believe today’s finally the day.”\n “The day…?” Smooch repeated inquisitively, her mind still a dreamy blur as she arched her back in a stretch before turning to face him. Then, as she remembered, her stomach felt an unexpected churn.\n ‘Our wedding.’\n Smooch grabbed Colby’s paw in a tight deathgrip, taking out her stress on his palm.\n “Hey,” Colby exhaled, nuzzling her affectionately. “It’s okay to be nervous. I’m a little nervous too.”\n Smooch said nothing, simply letting out a breath to try to regain her composure. \n ‘Everythin’s okay’, she thought. ‘I’m ready for this. Getting… remarried. Kernel is gone. He’d… he’d want me to find someone new... right?’ \n For as many years as Smooch had lived, nothing could have ever really prepared her for a day like this. For any wedded couple, ‘to death do you part’ was usually a given; after marriage, most would like to assume that they’d peacefully pass away alongside their spouse in their sleep at an old age after a long and fulfilled life together. Sadly, that wasn’t the case for Smooch Pooch. But even now, she couldn’t deny that deep in her heart, she still loved Kernel. That wasn’t about to change. In her heart, she didn’t want to part with him just yet. Because, if he were still watching over her from somewhere up in the heavens above… what would he really think of her moving on? Would he feel betrayed? Heartbroken? And when it was her time to go to ‘the great farm upstate’, would he even want to see her again? \n Finally fully-awake, these burning questions weighed heavily on her mind. \n Unaware of Smooch’s internal turmoil, Colby simply smiled as he kissed her neck several more times before finally rolling out of bed.\n “I wanna make us sausages this morning, does that sound good? Just sausages, like the first morning I ever stayed here.” Colby grinned before disappearing into the hall without waiting for a response. \n Smooch simply laid in bed, now alone with only her thoughts. \n\n It felt to Smooch like it was just a mere blink of her eyes before she suddenly found herself standing behind the silk curtain at the entrance of the wedding aisle as Maw Barker, her Maid of Honor, was brushing the fur on the sides of her face. Today was June 20th - the last day of spring - and their ceremony was being held outside in a grassy patch of open field by the river near the Party Tree. The weather was perfect on this beautiful day, but that was hardly a surprise to any; after all, it was rare not to have a sunny day in Pawston. Although they had considered inviting the entire town at first, in the end they decided it should be a small and simple affair instead, with only Smooch’s parents and in-laws, the Ol’ Yellers, Lady Lydia, Hambonio and his family, and the Barkers in attendance. \n “Smooch? Everything okay?” Maw asked, tilting her head. She noticed that the blue terrier was breathing fairly heavily, like she was struggling for air. “Your collar’s not too tight, is it?”\n “N-no, I’m just… I dunno,” her voice cracked as she stared at herself in the mirror, her own reflection looking back at her. The way she looked in this lacy white collar and veil… it brought back vivid memories. Wonderful memories, yet painful ones all the same. What Smooch had once considered the best day of her life now had a kind of deep-rooted sting to it that she couldn’t describe if she tried. \n Of course she was happy with Colby. Of course she didn’t want to live a life without him. But what if something bad happened again? What if she got too attached, and then lost him, just like she had lost Kernel? She couldn’t possibly stand the idea of suffering another heartbreak like that. What if…\n\n What if this was all a big mistake?\n\n Maw turned away to peel Smooch’s shed fur off the brush. \n “You’re going to do great. Just remember your vows, and you’ll be-”\n When Maw turned back around, Smooch was gone.\n “...Okay.”\n\n Meanwhile, Colby awaited at the altar anxiously, each moment feeling almost as long to him as the time he’d spent in the void. Although he was excited, that wasn’t to say he wasn’t having his own minor doubts about this; this would be his second marriage as well, just like Smooch. What if danger somehow returned? What if the ones he loved got dragged into his mess all over again? What if, despite his best efforts, he would fail to protect them from harm?\n It wouldn’t be the first time. \n But then, he recalled something that someone he loved had once told him, many lifetimes ago. \n ‘You don’t have to carry the weight of the entire world on your shoulders. Let yourself depend on us, just like we depend on you. Together, we can face any storm that comes at us. Because that’s the strength of unity.’\n ‘Unity,’ he remembered. To be together with the ones you love is always far better than to be alone. He’d been alone for so long, but now, to imagine himself now without Smooch, without Scooch… it felt impossible to him. He had long since accepted that he could never go back to his old life. But when he considered the idea now, if he were ever somehow given the choice to happily rejoin his old family, leaving Smooch behind forever - he knew he would rather stay here. Pawston was his home now, and he wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with the Pooches. That was all he needed. That was his new destiny. \n Suddenly, Maw appeared from behind the end of the aisle. \n “Excuse us for the wait, everyone, we’re having some… technical difficulties,” she said, trying to put on her best facade of confidence to avoid any rumors from the attendees before she disappeared behind the curtain once more. \n Sensing something was wrong, Cheddar Biscuit left her seat. \n “I’ll be right back,” she told Gerald, who was sitting beside her. She snuck out of the pews, leaving the ceremony to find the missing bride. \n Colby exhaled as he stood in place, keeping calm but now more nervous than ever. \n\n After confirming with Maw that she was nowhere to be found, Cheddar’s head turned left and right as she searched for Smooch, scanning the area for the blue terrier. \n “She couldn’t have gotten that far,” she whispered to herself, determined to ensure that today’s event would end happily for everyone. Cheddar Biscuit looked around for a bit as she kept a brisk running pace, knowing that each moment Smooch was gone meant the further away she could potentially be. She’d considered getting Scooch’s help to track her down with his skilled nose, but she didn’t want to cause him any worry. \n Cheddar approached Smooch’s police car to investigate, picking up her distinct scent from it. She closed her eyes and concentrated hard, trying to pinpoint the direction that Smooch might be in. Although her nose wasn’t as sensitive as Scooch’s, she could still use it to find someone if she really tried; she was a dog too, after all. \n The beagador’s nose twitched slightly as she faced the nearby river, and she began immediately heading in that direction. Within minutes, Cheddar’s eyes caught a glimpse of a familiar furry blue figure sitting downstream in a curled position at the water’s edge. \n “Smooch?” Cheddar asked as she approached. “What’s going on? Everyone’s starting to worry.”\n Smooch sighed.\n “I… I don’t know if I can do this.” \n Cheddar scowled. \n “Well you’d better know, because a certain someone is waiting for you back at that altar. Someone who loves you more than anything in the whole wide world. Do you know just how lucky that makes you?!”\nSmooch sniffled but remained silent, listening to every word Cheddar said as she continued. \n “I still have dreams about him sometimes, you know. It’s not every night anymore like it used to be, but… if the Colby in my dreams is anything like the Colby that you know and love, then I know that marrying you would make him the happiest dog in the world. He deserves nothing less. And I think you know that.”\n “I dunno, Cheddar. It's just... it feels like everythin’s happenin’ so fast.” Smooch watched the water quickly flowing by like the passage of time. “What if I'm not enough? What if I mess everythin’ up? What if I… I lose him?”\n “The only way you could mess up is if you call this whole thing off,” Cheddar said as she clenched her paws, angered that Smooch would even consider throwing away what she had with Colby. “And what do you mean, ‘lose him’? You’re sitting here all alone, having a pity-party while the dog you love is just dying to spend the rest of his life with you! So unless you get up off your sorry tail this minute and do what you came here to do in the first place, I’d say if you lose him, it’ll be your own darn fault! With all due respect, Smooch, you’re acting so… so… silly!”\n Cheddar took out her clown horn and honked it in a deep tone at Smooch like a drill sergeant.\n “Angry honk!”\n Having taken everything Cheddar had said to heart, Smooch chuckled softly and wiped her eyes as she stood, giving the flustered Cheddar a tight hug. \n “Y’know…yer right. I sure am actin’ silly, and that’s puttin’ it kindly. Thanks fer talkin’ some sense into me, Cheddar Biscuit.”\n Cheddar gave her a hug in return, though it was short-lived. \n “Heartwarming moments can wait, we need to hurry back now. Someone’s been patiently waiting for you.”\n\n With everything finally settled, Smooch now found herself weeping softly with nothing but pure happiness in her heart as she walked down the aisle with her father at her side and holding a bouquet of blue Forget-Me-Nots in her paws. \n Smooch’s dad gave her a proud embrace once they reached the end of the procession, and with that the ceremony finally began as Mayor Sniffington, the licensed officiant, began to speak.\n “Thank you all for coming. We’re gathered here today to celebrate Smooch Pooch and Colby’s eternal love for each other as they join together in marriage - a bond forged not only in joyous moments, but also in the challenges that life may bring. It is a promise to stand by each other's side through thick and thin, to share in each other's dreams and aspirations, and to create a life together built on love and understanding.” \n Colby looked into Smooch’s eyes, feeling a warmth radiating in his chest as she gazed back into his. \n “Smooch and Colby, your journey to this moment has been unique and beautiful. You’ve both seen your share of hardship and loss, but today, you stand before your loved ones, ready to embark on a new chapter of your lives. Marriage is a journey of discovery, where every day brings new opportunities to express love and kindness, to be patient and understanding, and to support each other's dreams.”\n Smooch thought back on what Colby had done for her - without him, she likely never would’ve reconnected with her old bandmates and rekindled her passion for singing. She would never forget that. \n “May your love be a beacon of hope and inspiration, and may you not only find strength in each other during times of challenge, but also celebrate together during times of triumph. Let us today witness the beauty of your commitment and the creation of a shared destiny. May the love you have for each other continue to grow, bringing you a lifetime of cherished memories.” The mayor gestured to the teary-eyed couple standing before her. “You may now speak your vows for one another.”\n The two turned to face one another, gently holding each other’s paws in their own. After an anxious swallow to gather himself, Colby spoke first.\n “You’ve brought so much joy into my life, Smooch. I can’t imagine my life without you in it. You taught me how to be happy again, bringing color back into my life when it was just black and white. I promise to always be loyal, to be honest, and to do everything in my power to make you happy as my wife. You’re where I belong. You’re my home, and I promise I’ll always protect my home. Actually, no. Not just a promise… a guarantee.” Colby took a moment to capture this moment forever, taking in his bride’s radiant glow. \n “You are my universe, Smooch Pooch. I love you.”\n Smooch needed a moment to wipe her tears before she could bring herself to recite her vows in response. \n “I never thought in a million years that I’d ever be strong enough to be up here again. Some dogs think I’m strong, or tough, but… I ain’t ever felt it. That is… not ‘til I met you, Colby,” Smooch said, earning a tearful smile from him. However, Smooch’s vows then deviated a bit from what she had originally planned. “Marriage is about honesty, and I need to be honest with you right now more than ever. While you were up here, waitin’ so patiently for me - and lookin’ as handsome as ever, can I just say - well, I… I ran away.”\n Cheddar and Maw knew this already, but a few light gasps could be heard from the others in the audience. \n “I ran away, because… I was scared. I’m scared of feelin’ like I can live ‘happily ever after’. Because I felt it before, and… ‘ever after’ came and went a lot faster than I thought it would. I know I say ‘I know everythin’’ a lot, but… truth is, the amount of all the things I don’t know terrifies me. I dunno what the future will bring, or where our united destinies will lead us. But the only thing that terrifies me more than not knowing, is the thought of not being by your side all the way there. A very special dog helped me remember that.”\n Smooch shot a glance over to Cheddar Biscuit with a grateful smile before turning back to her groom.\n “So while I can’t promise a happily ever after, I can promise you that I’ll be there for you. That no matter what, you will always have me. No matter what, you will never be alone. And when I am strong, it’ll be because of you, Colby. Because when I’m with you, I feel like I can do anythin’. When you hold me in yer arms, I… I…”\n Smooch choked up for a moment, overwhelmed with emotion.\n “I just know that no matter what, I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. And to think, when I first ran you over with my car that day, I never woulda guessed I’d be meetin’ the love of my life.”\nA mixture of both light laughs and sobs could be heard in the audience as Smooch made a joke to successfully lighten the mood.\n “I love you, Colby.”\n Once the vows were concluded, Mayor Sniffington continued with the final portion of the ceremony.\n “Do you, Colby, take Smooch to be your wedded wife? To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for as long as you li-” \n\n “I do,” Colby said eagerly before the mayor could even finish her sentence. \n\n “And do you, Smooch Pooch, take Colby to be your wedded husband? To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for as long as you live?”\n\n “I do,” Smooch answered in reply, those two words now ringing true without any lingering doubts. \n\n “And now, the bride and groom would like to do something a little different to pledge their love to each other,” Mayor Sniffington announced, handing them back the rings they had given her prior to the ceremony.\n “Actually, there’s someone else that I’d like to invite up here for just a moment.” Colby turned his head to Scooch, taking out a third ring. “Scooch, could you come join us please?”\n Scooch was a little surprised and confused, as they hadn’t done anything like this during the rehearsals, but the little blue terrier approached Colby without hesitation all the same.\n Colby got down on one knee, holding out the ring. \n “Today, I’m not just marrying your mom, but I’m also becoming your dad. I want to give you this ring to show my commitment to you.”\n Colby gently un-tied the red bandanna around Scooch’s neck, sliding both ends through the ring before sliding it up and tying it again as tears of joy welled up in both their eyes.\n “I promise to always take care of you, to protect you, and no matter what, I’ll always be on your side. I can’t wait to raise you as my son and see the kind of dog you’ll grow up to become. I love you, Scooch. My son.” \n Scooch said nothing, simply clenching his eyes tightly shut and leaning his head into Colby’s chest as he loudly sobbed into it. He couldn’t remember ever having a dad growing up, as he’d lost his when he was too young to form memories; but now, today, he finally had what he’d always been longing for. \n A father. \n “It’s okay, buddy,” Colby whispered as he held Scooch gently, petting his back as he struggled to hold back from bawling equally loudly. But seeing as there was an audience, he was able to somehow hold himself back - if only just barely. \n With one last pat on the back from his new dad, Scooch finally regained his composure enough to wipe his tears and return to the side so the ceremony could be concluded. \n “Smooch Pooch,” Colby said, “I give you this ring with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever. It’s a symbol of infinity, and my infinite love.”\nColby held Smooch’s paw, slipping the small golden metal band on her middle finger. \n “Colby,” Smooch began to repeat the vow as she put the matching ring on his finger as well. “I give you this ring with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever. It’s a symbol of infinity, and my infinite love.”\n Mayor Sniffington smiled as she concluded the ceremony.\n “By the power vested in me by the state of Mastiffchewsits, I now pronounce you husband and wife!”\n As Colby leaned down and gave Smooch a smooch on the lips to seal their union, the audience cheered in celebration. \n Today, Smooch Pooch and Colby Pooch were officially married.\n\n “Are you still sure about takin’ my last name?” Smooch asked as the two of them were finally alone, flying high above the ground in a hot-air balloon over hundreds of acres of cornfields to their honeymoon getaway. “It’s not even my maiden-name, y’know. You’d technically be takin’ Kernel’s last name.”\n “I know, and I’m perfectly fine with that.” Colby answered with a serene smile, feeling the warmth of the evening sun and the gentle breeze brush against the yellow fur on his face. “I never really picked a new last name for myself, and ‘Colby Colburn’ just doesn’t sound quite right to me. So I think taking the name ‘Pooch’ is a good way for me to honor Kernel’s memory.”\n “Y’know… I think he’d’ve really liked you,” Smooch said after a brief silence, resting her paw on his. “All things considerin’, that is.”\n “That’s all I can really hope for,” Colby replied, looking down over the edge of the basket they were floating in. “I know I never got to meet him, but I still try my best to be the kind of dog he’d approve of you being with.”\n The two closed their eyes and were silent again for some time, simply taking in the silent stillness of the world around them. Scooch was spending the weekend with the Barkers, so Colby and Smooch had the next three days all to themselves with no worries or responsibilities. And after the kind of energy the Barkers brought to the wedding reception, this silence was very much appreciated by the both of them. \n “Hey Smooch… look down there.”\n Smooch opened her eyes again, and as she looked down over the basket, what she saw made her jaw drop. \n Windmills, possibly hundreds - no, thousands of them dotted the countryside below.\n “Oh… my… Dog.”\n “I figured you’d enjoy this,” Colby chuckled, admiring the look of child-like excitement on Smooch’s face. \n “Did… did you do this?” Smooch asked, her eyes wide as she took in the sight of a nearly unfathomable amount of windmills all in one place. \n “What, put all these windmills here?” Colby chuckled, “No, no, but I did plan for us to fly over them. I passed through them on my road-trip with the Ol’ Yellers back to Pawston, so I figured you might like to see this from the best possible view.”\n “Th-this is incredible! There’s an open-trestle post mill! And there’s a smock mill! And there’s a tower mill! Oh, and look at that one! That’s a-” Smooch suddenly stopped herself, looking away in embarrassment as she cleared her throat. “S-sorry, I was ‘bout to ramble again.”\n “Are you kidding?” Colby asked, resting his paw on her back. “I love when you go on and on about windmills, I could listen to it all day. I feel like I’ve already told you this before.”\n “I-I know, it’s just… Colby?” Smooch looked over at her new husband, taking a small step closer to his side. \n “Hm?” Colby looked back at her, noticing a slight change in her disposition. \n “What did I ever do to deserve a man like you?”\n Colby blushed, taken aback by the sudden question. Although they were now married, he suddenly felt butterflies practically swarming in his stomach, not unlike the ones he felt in the first few days he’d gotten to know her. As the orange evening sun shone on Smooch’s blue face, Colby swore he saw a glistening glow all around her just like he had on their first date. And although they were mostly hidden under her canine jowls, the faint glossy shine of her dark blue lips looked more kissable to him than ever. \n “You didn’t have to do anything.” Colby’s lips trembled as he reached out and held Smooch’s face in his paws, leaning in close to her. Their lips were tantalizingly-close, but Colby enjoyed the flustered look on Smooch’s face far too much to satisfy her just yet. “Because to me, you’re… everything.”\n As the fur around their mouths ever so slightly brushed up against one another, Colby and Smooch could feel the sweet and gentle breath of their spouse against their own. It was only now that the reality truly began to sink in - that they were married. Smooch was now his wife. Colby was now her husband. And for the first time in years, nothing had ever felt quite so right. \n Smooch was the first to make a move, pressing her lips firmly but sensually into Colby’s. Colby returned it with equal enthusiasm, stroking his fingers through the silky fur on Smooch’s cheeks as he politely licked at her lips to request entry. Smooch let out a breathy sigh as she invited him in, feeling as though she were on cloud nine when Colby’s tongue greeted hers. It wasn’t anything new, per se, as they’d kissed hundreds of times like this as a couple. But now that they were officially married, something about this kiss felt particularly different than usual; it gave them the kind of high they’d felt during their first kiss among the fireflies that fateful night. \n In this one kiss, Colby and Smooch could feel a culmination of their past, present, and future; the pain they’d suffered, the love they felt for each other in this very moment, and the coming years they’d spend in each other’s loving company. Colby imagined himself as an old dog, with an older but still just as lovely and adorable Smooch still by his side. And ideally, in this future, Colby imagined not only a grown-up Scooch, but a child of his and Smooch’s as well. \n ‘Tonight…’ Colby thought as they finally broke their long kiss, giving her a seductive look. \n ‘Tonight, I’ll ask her again.’ \n\n When they finally arrived at their destination, Colby held Smooch’s paw as he led her to their honeymoon weekend rental home. It was a cozy-looking two-story cabin at the edge of a lake just on the edge of the massive windmill farm they’d flown over, complete with a dock and a rowboat.\n “This is amazin’,” Smooch commented as she paused and looked around in awe at the beautiful scenery, “Could we just live here?”\n “Well, I don’t know about that,” Colby chuckled, suddenly sweeping her off her feet and carrying her bridal-style with ease; she gave out a surprised bark at first, but quickly settled into it. “But I’m glad you like it.”\n He took her inside, secretly finding himself increasingly eager to get to the best part of any honeymoon. \n\n After a quick walkthrough of the cabin to get familiarized with where everything was, Colby carried Smooch to the final stop for them to finally settle in for the night after the long and eventful day they’d had. Their bedroom was just as rustic as the rest of the house, its walls lined with wooden logs and the king-sized bed in the middle seemingly hand-crafted to match. Across from the bed was a minifridge, as well as a large flat-screen television mounted to the wall for them to watch as they relaxed.\n But at this moment, relaxing was one of the last things on their minds. \n “Sit,” Colby commanded politely but assertively as he set her on the edge of the bed. \n “My my, gettin’ right to the point, ain’t we?” Smooch’s lips curled into a giddy smile as a reddish blush grew on her face, subtly adjusting her thighs just a little further apart for her husband. \n “Well… kinda,” Colby replied, taking something out from behind his back as Smooch looked at him curiously. What he pulled out was a clear jar of some kind of liquid, which sloshed around inside with a strangely unique sound, and two small cups. To her, it looked like nothing more than ordinary water. “But first, I’ve been saving this as a surprise specifically for tonight.”\n “What is that?” Smooch asked, wondering what made this apparent water so special.\n “This is something I made myself in my free time, though it took a lot of tries to finally get it right. Do you remember when I first mentioned something called ‘alcohol’ when we first met?” Colby asked, setting the cups down on the nearby nightstand.\n “Yeah, I recall you seemed a little disappointed ‘cause I never heard of it,” Smooch recalled.\n “Sure, but only a little. It’s not something I was ever dependent on, but it definitely would’ve helped me take the edge off a little after everything that I’d been through,” Colby paused for a moment as his memories briefly took him back to that empty plane of outerversal existence - until he shook his head, moving on from the subject. “Anyway, after lots of trial-and-error, I finally got something that’s safe to drink. Relatively-speaking, that is.”\n “Relatively-speakin’?” Smooch raised an eyebrow. “Care to elaborate?”\n “Well, let’s just say drinking too much of it can be really… bad.” Colby rubbed the back of his head, giving a nervous laugh. “And if it’s made incorrectly, even drinking a little bit can be worse. B-but I wanted to make sure this was completely safe, and I’ve tested it myself. As long as we drink it responsibly, I think tonight’s gonna be a lot of fun. Trust me.”\n “Well, if you’re sure it’s safe… I trust you, Colby. Alright, fix me up a glass. Only a little bit, though.”\n “Believe me, a little bit is all it’ll take to get the fun goin’.” Colby replied with a grin as he unknowingly slipped into a slightly Southern accent, eager to see what a drunk Smooch looked like. “Oh! I almost forgot to mention, this is called ‘moonshine’. And get this, it’s made from good ol’ corn.”\n “Corn! Well now it’s gotta be good,” Smooch chuckled jokingly, though now genuinely interested to try it for herself. \n However, the moment Colby finally opened the jar, Smooch suddenly felt a gagging reflex well up in her chest as her sensitive dog nose picked up on the aroma that pierced the room with a bitter burn. \n “What in the blazes?! Why does it smell like… that?” She asked with a regretful cough, covering her nose. \n “That’s just how alcohol is, hun’,” Colby answered as he poured a small shot’s worth in each glass, handing her one. “You really don’t have to do this if you change your mind, I won’t force you into it.”\n “No, no, I wanna try this, really.” Smooch gulped as she swirled the liquid around in the glass, trying to hype herself up for the experience. “...But I won’t lie, I’m a little nervous. You’re sure this is safe?”\n “I drank a little of it already to be sure of it. I wouldn’t let you drink this stuff if I thought it might have any chance of hurting you.” Colby rubbed her arm supportively. “But just to warn you, you might start to feel a little… ‘funny’, after a few drinks. You’ll see what I mean when we get to it. It’s best to just drink it all at once, kinda like plunging into really cold water. But it’ll be fun, as long as we know our limits.”\n “I’m still not sure what you mean, but… I feel safer doing this with you.” Smooch gave Colby a quick kiss and looked down at the glass in her paw with bated breath. “Well… here goes nothin’, I guess. Bottoms-up?”\n “Bottom’s-up.” Colby clinked his glass against hers. “And Smooch?”\n “Hm?” Smooch looked up at Colby again, and was met with one more kiss before they finally took the plunge. \n “I just wanna say, for all the roads I’ve walked down in this life, I’m so grateful that in the end, destiny led me to you.” Colby gently held her paw in his, stroking the back of it under his thumb. \n “To destiny.” Smooch toasted softly as she raised her glass and smiled, holding her breath so as to not be overwhelmed by the smell of alcohol. \n “To destiny.” Colby raised his glass as well. \n\n They both hesitated for a bit, taking several deep breaths to mentally prepare. Then, in one swift and synchronized motion, they threw their heads back and drank it all down in one gulp. \n\n Unsurprisingly, they both had a harsh reaction to the moonshine running down their throats as it coating their insides with an icy burn, holding onto each other for support as they shuddered and coughed viscerally.\n “Oh my DOG! My tongue feels like it’s on fire! Is that normal?” Smooch gave her thoughts between quivering breaths, feeling like her insides were both boiling and freezing at the same time. “I can feel it burnin’ like a wildfire in my chest, holy smokes! And humans actually drink this stuff for fun?!”\n “Oh yeah, that’s- heugh, that’s moonshine, alright.” Colby nodded in confirmation amid nauseous gags of his own; although he was more accustomed to the taste, that didn’t mean it hurt any less going down. “This is known for being one of the strongest alcohols, so you did really well for your first time.”\n “Hold on, you couldn’t’a started me off with somethin’ a little, I dunno, simpler?!” Smooch asked harshly, her body still recovering from the stinging sensation on her tongue. \n “It’s not like I’m an expert on alcohol or anything,” Colby clutched his chest as he felt it slide down into his stomach, involuntarily shaking his head repeatedly as his body fought to reject it. “I just knew that moonshine was made from corn and went with that. I thought it might be fitting.”\n “Well… pour me another then, I can take it,” Smooch said, having finally recovered from the initial shock and seemingly gained some newfound bravery. \n “Okay, if you insist, but just one more for now. It’ll take a few minutes for it to really kick in,” Colby said as he poured them each another shot. “Remember, this is really strong stuff.”\n “Psh, this ain’t nothin’,” Smooch took the glass from Colby’s paw, already feeling a little overzealous. “Down the hatch, that’s what I say.”\n Colby couldn’t help but feed off Smooch’s brazen confidence, and as they took their second shot together, he could already tell that this was going to be a very fun honeymoon. \n\n “Oh wow… I think I’m startin’ to feel it now, Colby…” Smooch held her paw against her head, sensing a pleasant tingle in her brain. She let out a dazed giggle as she laid back on the bed. “Is this that funny feelin’ you was tellin’ me ‘bout?”\n “Hehe, yeah, feels pretty good, right?” Colby poured two more shots, just to have them ready for when their buzz began to wear off. \n “It sure does…” Smooch grinned as she spread her legs and undid her collar, resting the back of her head on her palms. “But I know somethin’ that’ll make it feel even better.”\n Without a word, Colby knew exactly what she meant. As he looked at his bride laid before him, he tried to think of how he wanted to go about this. This was a special night, and he wanted to take this opportunity to get a little ‘experimental’. Try new things. Push a few boundaries. \n He let out a soft growl under his breath as he allowed his more dominant side to take over, grabbing Smooch’s thick thighs and squeezing them with his fingers. His paws moved inwards to her plump canine mound, gently squeezing it with his index fingers and thumbs to truly appreciate its swollen girth. \n “C-Colby… ah…” Smooch wanted to protest in embarrassment, but the moonshine had lulled her into such an intense relaxation that she didn’t care what Colby did. She knew he would never do anything to make her feel self-conscious about her body - even though she didn’t consider herself beautiful by any means, in the bedroom, Colby had always treated her as nothing less than a queen. \n Without even thinking about it, Smooch let out an airy huff as she grabbed the back of her knees and lifted her legs as high as she physically could, making sure that Colby knew just how desperately she wanted him in no uncertain terms. \n Colby continued squeezing, licking his lips and watching in awe as her sweet nectar trickled out like fresh honey. He spread it open with his thumbs, admiring the pink hue of her insides that were enclosed by the glistening blackess of the puffy walls surrounding it. He had seen it plenty of times now over the last year, but he realized he hadn’t really taken the time to fully take in and appreciate the visual beauty of it until now. \n Finally knowing now just what he wanted to try, Colby suddenly changed things up by assertively grabbing Smooch and spinning her around in such a way that her head dipped backwards just over the edge of the bed. With his canine masculinity now more than ready to ‘go dog go’, he wordlessly pressed his hips into Smooch’s wet snout to make his desires known to her.\n She held his lower back as she deeply inhaled, taking in his scent. She wasn’t sure if it was the alcohol or the fact that he was her husband now, but something about Colby’s natural musk somehow smelled even more alluring than usual. Her eyes naturally rolled up into her head as she opened her mouth and stuck out her tongue, coating his eagerness with her warm breaths before finally giving it a long lick down the entire length. \n Once he knew Smooch was all-in, Colby slowly eased his way into her comfortably inviting mouth as he returned his focus to her arousal. Her scent was overwhelming, yet deeply intoxicating - and Colby couldn’t get enough. As he held her thighs in place while gently moving his hips back and forth, he dragged his tongue along her slick opening to get a taste of her desire. One lick led to another, and then another, until finally Colby couldn’t take it anymore, burying his tongue within her and sealing it shut with his lips in a lewd kiss. \n The sensation of his tongue caused Smooch to ticklishly flail her legs a bit as she continued to pleasure Colby with her own, eventually squeezing her thighs around his head in a tight grip and forcing his head into her pelvis, locking him in place. \n Luckily for Colby, this was exactly what he was hoping for. \n As his wet nose pressed firmly against Smooch’s sweaty rim, the delicious taste of one hole combined with the natural musk of another created an erotic mixture of flavors in Colby’s mouth that made him salivate even more than he already was. And with that, it was time to move on to the next step of his plan; he grabbed Smooch’s waist and rolled onto his back, completely reversing their positions on the bed. \n “Oho, so this is what ya wanted, huh?” Smooch cooed with a slurred drawl as she took a moment to breathe, the moonshine now having completely muddled her brain into intoxication. “You like when I sit on yer face?”\n “Mhm!” Colby let out a muffled grunt of approval as he gave two enthusiastic thumbs-up. \n “Hm, well that’s good… ‘cause so do I…” Smooch moaned as she pressed the full weight of her body down on Colby’s muzzle, and a slight whine of pure ecstasy escaped from his lungs as she resumed returning the favor on his throbbing bone. She didn’t bother asking him if he was uncomfortable or in any pain, because she knew that if he was, he could easily let her know with a few taps on her behind. \n Besides, this was her wedding night - for once, she was allowed to be a little selfish. \n Colby felt like he was in heaven as he was completely smothered under Smooch’s perfect rear, never wanting this moment to end. He savored every drop of his wife’s sweetness, alternating his tongue from one entrance to the next to give each equal attention. The moonshine that fogged his mind into a blurry daze made the experience all the more pleasurable as it eliminated any and all thoughts or cares other than the pure carnal pleasure he felt in this moment. That, and the pure love he felt for Smooch. \n As he fixated on his intense love for his new wife, Colby dug his fingers into the fur on her lower back. And although he didn’t intend to, he began to lightly cry as his emotions were heightened by the alcohol in his veins; even so, he never stopped using his tongue to satisfy her even for a second. If anything, the emotional state that the moonshine had put him in had made him even more aroused by their passionate union. \n In a matter of seconds, Smooch started to feel more emotional in just the same way, tears of joy and love trickling down her furry blue cheeks as she swallowed Colby’s length down to the hilt. \n It wasn’t long until, bombarded by warm feelings of marital affection, Colby and Smooch both began to feel that much-awaited pressure building deep in their loins. As Colby began to thrust his hips into Smooch’s muzzle, so too did Smooch quicken her gyrating movements on Colby’s. \n Soon, a harmonious duet of bliss filled the bedroom as the newlyweds consummated their marriage. \n\n After several minutes of coming down from their afterglow, Colby drunkenly crawled over Smooch and gave her a clumsy kiss on the lips as he rubbed her side. \n “Hey… Smooch…” \n “Wassat now?” Smooch asked, still feeling rather dizzy from her euphoria as well as the alcohol. \n “Smooch… Smoooch… you got such a funny name, y’know?” Colby chuckled, but immediately backtracked. “Not, not funny, cute, tha’s wha’ I meant. Yer name is adorbable. Smooch, like a kiss. ‘Cause I always wanna kiss you so mush.”\n Colby followed up with several more kisses on her lips, which trailed off to her cheek and down her neck.\n “Heh, well I think yer name is cute too, Colby. Even if iss not yer real name.” Smooch gave him an extremely tight hug, relishing in his tender kisses on her fur. \n “Oh yeah, I had sumthin’ I wanted to ask ya,” Colby suddenly paused, putting on a serious face - at least, as serious of a face as he could, given his current condition. “D’you think you’d be ready to… um… have a…”\nSmooch simply looked up at him, looking a little confused as to where he was going with this.\n “A puppy? With me?”\n Smooch was silent for a time, thinking it over carefully. \n “Is this somethin’ you really want?” She asked.\n “Yes,” Colby responded without hesitation, stroking her face. “But I don’ want you to feel pressured into it. I want you to want it.”\n “Thank you, Colby. That really means a lot. Then, if I’m bein’ honest… no. I’m still not ready. Not yet, anyways.”\n “Oh… okay.” Colby looked downwards, visibly disappointed. Truthfully, he was hoping that tonight of all nights she might finally be willing to take that final step. \n “I’m sorry, Colby… but I do have some good news,” Smooch continued, trying to cheer Colby up. “This happens to be a safe time o’ the year fer me anyways, so… fer our honeymoon, you get to finish inside as mush as you want.”\n Colby looked back up at her, his face lighting up a little. \n “...As mush as I want?”\n “As mush as ya want. I insist.”\n “Well… I guess I do like the sound o’ that,” Colby smiled again, already going in for another round.\n “Hol’ on, before we go at it again, gimme another one o’ them moonlight-thingies.” Smooch pointed over to the jar.\n “Moonshinies,” Colby corrected her, albeit incorrectly. “But this is the las’ one fer tonight, ‘kay? We wan’ it to las’... the whole honeymoon.\n He stumbled over to the jar, carefully pouring them each one more small shot’s worth - but accidentally spilling a bit over the sides. He then sauntered over to the minifridge and took out two water bottles for when they inevitably got thirsty, as well as for diluting the alcohol out of their systems when they were spent. \n When he returned, they took their third shot of moonshine together, followed by another round of pained shudders and coughs. With plenty of alcohol already in their systems, it didn’t take long at all for them to feel the effects of what they had just added to it; both Smooch and Colby felt an almost primal urge welling up within them, like they were transforming into ravenous wolves rather than humble dogs. But instead of a bloodlust for prey, all they felt was an insatiable lust for each other’s bodies. \n Colby was the first to attack, pinning Smooch to the bed by her wrists and fiercely penetrating her mouth with his tongue. Smooch wasn’t one to give in, however, as she wrapped her legs around his waist and pressed Colby into her with a surprisingly powerful lock in place. With one smooth motion almost faster than he could keep up with, Colby was forced to plunge down to the hilt by Smooch herself. Although he was on top and appeared to be the dominant one in this position, Colby suddenly felt as if he were at Smooch’s whim as her legs were like an inescapable trap around his lower back. Not that he minded - it had barely been an hour, and everything about this honeymoon was already as exciting as he’d hoped. \n Smooch held the back of Colby’s head with her paws and firmly locked him into their passionate kiss, encouraging him to rock his hips into hers without restraint. From then, everything quickly became a fuzzy blur of yellows and blues as they allowed the moonshine to do its work, their bodies moving in whatever way felt the most natural to them. Their paws, their hips, and their lips all worked together in perfect sync as they did their best to express their love for one another. \n Eventually, Colby had pinned Smooch to the bed flat on her stomach, lifting her rear end up in the air at just the right angle as he pressed his hips into her with the kind of dominance that he couldn't deny he rather enjoyed.\n “Heh… heheh,” he chuckled as he paused for a moment, having thought of something he’d never considered before. \n “Wha’s… wha’s so funny, huh?” Smooch asked drunkenly, looking back at him sternly. For a moment, she wondered if he was poking fun at the shape of her middle-aged butt. “If yer makin’ fun o’ me or sumthin’, I’ll bite ya.”\n “No, you look as bootyful- HA, I mean beautiful as always, Smooshy-pooshy,” Colby sluggishly replied, as he was still feeling quite drunk as well. “But I was jus’ wondering, now that I thinkin’ ‘bout it… this position we’re in now, do y’all still call it ‘doggystyle’ in this world, or just ‘style’?\n “...Jus’ shut up and keep fuckin’ me, Colby.”\n\n The night went on, and Colby took full-advantage of Smooch’s honeymoon offer. However, with both of them completely spent as they finally came down from their inebriated state, the two could hardly believe their eyes as the sunrise started to peek through the nearby window. \n “Were we really up all night?” Smooch blinked in disbelief as she cuddled into Colby’s side in exhaustion, stroking his stomach with her paw.\n “Sure looks like it.” Colby smiled proudly, giving his wife a kiss on the forehead. “But it was a fun night though, right?”\n “It sure was. That moonshine stuff tastes terrible, and it’s givin’ me a bit of a headache now, but you sure weren’t lyin’ when you said it’d be a good time.” Smooch snickered, only vaguely remembering the passionate blur of the night before. “Think you’ll ever share it with the rest of the world?”\n “Fuck no, this was only for you and you alone.” Colby shook his head immediately before resting it against Smooch’s as he finally felt a wall of tiredness hitting him. “I already destroyed everything I used to make it, so this was pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Just one more reason why we should drink the rest sparingly over the honeymoon. No, this world’s too perfect to have something like alcohol ruin it. Trust me, it’s way more trouble than it’s worth.”\n “Fair, fair.” Smooch closed her eyes and began to bury her face into her husband’s chest, hugging him firmly in her arms as she whispered, “...and Colby?”\n “Hm?” Colby hummed, snuggling against Smooch’s thick bodily warmth as he began to drift off.\n “...Please, don’t stop askin’ me for a puppy. I know I want one with you someday. Just… wait for me. Don’t stop trying. Don’t… give up… on me.”\n Smooch’s words trailed off into snores, and as Colby brushed her head with his paw while he closed his eyes to the rising sun, Colby made a silent vow to honor her request.\n\n ‘Give up on you, Smooch? I’d rather die.’",
"writing_bbcode_parsed": "<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The pleasant scent of soft blue fur awoke Colby as he pressed his nose into the back of Smooch&rsquo;s neck, wrapping her in his arm from behind in a tight squeeze. For a few minutes, he almost forgot what today was; all he could think about was how he never wanted to leave this bed. But unlike the first time he&rsquo;d slept in Smooch&rsquo;s bed upon first arriving in Pawston, this morning was far different. For him, this feeling in his heart couldn&rsquo;t be further from that pain he&rsquo;d felt that first night under these covers. Because against all odds, Colby felt truly happy again. He felt loved again.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Love.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;That was when Colby finally remembered - today was&hellip;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&lsquo;Today&rsquo;s our wedding,&rsquo;</em> he whispered, squeezing Smooch even tighter. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Mhh&hellip; Colby&hellip; it&rsquo;s hard to breathe&hellip;&rdquo; he heard a soft grumble in return.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Oh, sorry,&rdquo; he replied, loosening his grip. &lsquo;I just can&rsquo;t believe today&rsquo;s finally the day.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;The day&hellip;?&rdquo; Smooch repeated inquisitively, her mind still a dreamy blur as she arched her back in a stretch before turning to face him. Then, as she remembered, her stomach felt an unexpected churn.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&lsquo;Our wedding.&rsquo;</em><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch grabbed Colby&rsquo;s paw in a tight deathgrip, taking out her stress on his palm.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Hey,&rdquo; Colby exhaled, nuzzling her affectionately. &ldquo; It&rsquo;s okay to be nervous. I&rsquo;m a little nervous too.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch said nothing, simply letting out a breath to try to regain her composure. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&lsquo;</em><em>Everythin&rsquo;s</em><em> okay&rsquo;</em>, she thought. <em>&lsquo;I&rsquo;m ready for this. Getting&hellip; remarried. Kernel is gone. He&rsquo;d&hellip; he&rsquo;d want me to find someone new... right?&rsquo; </em><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;For as many years as Smooch had lived, nothing could have ever really prepared her for a day like this. For any wedded couple, &lsquo;to death do you part&rsquo; was usually a given; after marriage, most would like to assume that they&rsquo;d peacefully pass away alongside their spouse in their sleep at an old age after a long and fulfilled life together. Sadly, that wasn&rsquo;t the case for Smooch Pooch. But even now, she couldn&rsquo;t deny that deep in her heart, she still loved Kernel. That wasn&rsquo;t about to change. In her heart, she didn&rsquo;t <em>want</em> to part with him just yet. Because, if he were still watching over her from somewhere up in the heavens above&hellip; what would he <em>really</em> think of her moving on? Would he feel betrayed? Heartbroken? And when it was <em>her</em> time to go to &lsquo;the great farm upstate&rsquo;, would he even <em>want</em> to see her again? <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Finally fully-awake, these burning questions weighed heavily on her mind. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Unaware of Smooch&rsquo;s internal turmoil, Colby simply smiled as he kissed her neck several more times before finally rolling out of bed.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I wanna make us sausages this morning, does that sound good? <em>Just</em> sausages, like the first morning I ever stayed here.&rdquo; Colby grinned before disappearing into the hall without waiting for a response. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch simply laid in bed, now alone with only her thoughts. <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It felt to Smooch like it was just a mere blink of her eyes before she suddenly found herself standing behind the silk curtain at the entrance of the wedding aisle as Maw Barker, her Maid of Honor, was brushing the fur on the sides of her face. Today was June 20th - the last day of spring - and their ceremony was being held outside in a grassy patch of open field by the river near the Party Tree. The weather was perfect on this beautiful day, but that was hardly a surprise to any; after all, it was rare <em>not</em> to have a sunny day in Pawston. Although they had considered inviting the entire town at first, in the end they decided it should be a small and simple affair instead, with only Smooch&rsquo;s parents and in-laws, the Ol&rsquo; Yellers, Lady Lydia, Hambonio and his family, and the Barkers in attendance. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Smooch? Everything okay?&rdquo; Maw asked, tilting her head. She noticed that the blue terrier was breathing fairly heavily, like she was struggling for air. &ldquo;Your collar&rsquo;s not too tight, is it?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;N-no, I&rsquo;m just&hellip; I dunno,&rdquo; her voice cracked as she stared at herself in the mirror, her own reflection looking back at her. The way she looked in this lacy white collar and veil&hellip; it brought back vivid memories. Wonderful memories, yet painful ones all the same. What Smooch had once considered the best day of her life now had a kind of deep-rooted sting to it that she couldn&rsquo;t describe if she tried. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Of <em>course</em> she was happy with Colby. Of <em>course</em> she didn&rsquo;t want to live a life without him. But what if something bad happened again? What if she got too attached, and then lost him, just like she had lost Kernel? She couldn&rsquo;t possibly stand the idea of suffering another heartbreak like that. What if&hellip;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;What if this was all a big mistake?<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maw turned away to peel Smooch&rsquo;s shed fur off the brush. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;You&rsquo;re going to do great. Just remember your vows, and you&rsquo;ll be-&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When Maw turned back around, Smooch was gone.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;...Okay.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Meanwhile, Colby awaited at the altar anxiously, each moment feeling almost as long to him as the time he&rsquo;d spent in the void. Although he was excited, that wasn&rsquo;t to say he wasn&rsquo;t having his own minor doubts about this; this would be his second marriage as well, just like Smooch. What if danger somehow returned? What if the ones he loved got dragged into his mess all over again? What if, despite his best efforts, he would fail to protect them from harm?<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It wouldn&rsquo;t be the first time. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;But then, he recalled something that someone he loved had once told him, many lifetimes ago. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&lsquo;You don&rsquo;t have to carry the weight of the entire world on your shoulders. Let yourself depend on us, just like we depend on you. Together, we can face any storm that comes at us. Because that&rsquo;s the strength of unity.&rsquo;</em><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&lsquo;Unity,&rsquo;</em> he remembered. To be together with the ones you love is always far better than to be alone. He&rsquo;d been alone for so long, but now, to imagine himself now without Smooch, without Scooch&hellip; it felt impossible to him. That was his <em>new</em> destiny. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Suddenly, Maw appeared from behind the end of the aisle. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Excuse us for the wait, everyone, we&rsquo;re having some&hellip; technical difficulties,&rdquo; she said, trying to put on her best facade of confidence to avoid any rumors from the attendees before she disappeared behind the curtain once more. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Sensing something was wrong, Cheddar Biscuit left her seat. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll be right back,&rdquo; she told Gerald, who was sitting beside her. She snuck out of the pews, leaving the ceremony to find the missing bride. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby exhaled as he stood in place, keeping calm but now more nervous than ever. <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;After confirming with Maw that she was nowhere to be found, Cheddar&rsquo;s head turned left and right as she searched for Smooch, scanning the area for the blue terrier. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;She couldn&rsquo;t have gotten that far,&rdquo; she whispered to herself, determined to ensure that today&rsquo;s event would end happily for everyone. Cheddar Biscuit looked around for a bit as she kept a brisk running pace, knowing that each moment Smooch was gone meant the further away she could potentially be. She&rsquo;d considered getting Scooch&rsquo;s help to track her down with his skilled nose, but she didn&rsquo;t want to cause him any worry. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cheddar approached Smooch&rsquo;s police car to investigate, picking up her distinct scent from it. She closed her eyes and concentrated hard, trying to pinpoint the direction that Smooch might be in. Although her nose wasn&rsquo;t as sensitive as Scooch&rsquo;s, she could still use it to find someone if she really tried; she was a dog too, after all. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The beagador&rsquo;s nose twitched slightly as she faced the nearby river, and she began immediately heading in that direction. Within minutes, Cheddar&rsquo;s eyes caught a glimpse of a familiar furry blue figure sitting downstream in a curled position at the water&rsquo;s edge. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Smooch?&rdquo; Cheddar asked as she approached. &ldquo; What&rsquo;s going on? Everyone&rsquo;s starting to worry.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch sighed.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I&hellip; I don&rsquo;t know if I can do this.&rdquo; <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cheddar scowled. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Well you&rsquo;d <em>better</em> know, because a certain someone is waiting for you back at that altar. Someone who loves you more than anything in the whole wide world. Do you know just how <em>lucky</em> that makes you?!&rdquo;<br />Smooch sniffled but remained silent, listening to every word Cheddar said as she continued. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I still have dreams about him sometimes, you know. It&rsquo;s not every night anymore like it used to be, but&hellip; if the Colby in my dreams is anything like the Colby that <em>you</em> know and love, then I know that marrying you would make him the happiest dog in the world. He deserves nothing less. And I think you know that.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I dunno, Cheddar. It&#039;s just... it feels like everythin&rsquo;s happenin&rsquo; so fast.&rdquo; Smooch watched the water quickly flowing by like the passage of time. &ldquo; What if I&#039;m not enough? What if I mess everythin&rsquo; up? What if I&hellip; I lose him?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;The only way you could mess up is if you call this whole thing off,&rdquo; Cheddar said as she clenched her paws, angered that Smooch would even <em>consider</em> throwing away what she had with Colby. &ldquo; And what do you mean, &lsquo;lose him&rsquo;? You&rsquo;re sitting here all alone, having a pity-party while the dog you love is just dying to spend the rest of his life with you! So unless you get up off your sorry tail this minute and do what you came here to do in the first place, I&rsquo;d say if you lose him, it&rsquo;ll be your own darn fault! With all due respect, Smooch, you&rsquo;re acting so&hellip; so&hellip; <em>silly!</em>&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cheddar took out her clown horn and honked it in a deep tone at Smooch like a drill sergeant.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Angry honk!&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Having taken everything Cheddar had said to heart, Smooch chuckled softly and wiped her eyes as she stood, giving the flustered Cheddar a tight hug. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Y&rsquo;know&hellip;yer right. I sure am actin&rsquo; silly, and that&rsquo;s puttin&rsquo; it kindly. Thanks fer talkin&rsquo; some sense into me, Cheddar Biscuit.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cheddar gave her a hug in return, though it was short-lived. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Heartwarming moments can wait, we need to hurry back now. Someone&rsquo;s been patiently waiting for you.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;With everything finally settled, Smooch now found herself weeping softly with nothing but pure happiness in her heart as she walked down the aisle with her father at her side and holding a bouquet of blue Forget-Me-Nots in her paws. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch&rsquo;s dad gave her a proud embrace once they reached the end of the procession, and with that the ceremony finally began as Mayor Sniffington, the licensed officiant, began to speak.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Thank you all for coming. We&rsquo;re gathered here today to celebrate Smooch Pooch and Colby&rsquo;s eternal love for each other as they join together in marriage - a bond forged not only in joyous moments, but also in the challenges that life may bring. It is a promise to stand by each other&#039;s side through thick and thin, to share in each other&#039;s dreams and aspirations, and to create a life together built on love and understanding.&rdquo; <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby looked into Smooch&rsquo;s eyes, feeling a warmth radiating in his chest as she gazed back into his. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Smooch and Colby, your journey to this moment has been unique and beautiful. You&rsquo;ve both seen your share of hardship and loss, but today, you stand before your loved ones, ready to embark on a new chapter of your lives. Marriage is a journey of discovery, where every day brings new opportunities to express love and kindness, to be patient and understanding, and to support each other&#039;s dreams.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch thought back on what Colby had done for her - without him, she likely never would&rsquo;ve reconnected with her old bandmates and rekindled her passion for singing. She would never forget that. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;May your love be a beacon of hope and inspiration, and may you not only find strength in each other during times of challenge, but also celebrate together during times of triumph. Let us today witness the beauty of your commitment and the creation of a shared destiny. May the love you have for each other continue to grow, bringing you a lifetime of cherished memories.&rdquo; The mayor gestured to the teary-eyed couple standing before her. &ldquo; You may now speak your vows for one another.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The two turned to face one another, gently holding each other&rsquo;s paws in their own. After an anxious swallow to gather himself, Colby spoke first.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;You&rsquo;ve brought so much joy into my life, Smooch. I can&rsquo;t imagine my life without you in it. You taught me how to be happy again, bringing color back into my life when it was just black and white. I promise to always be loyal, to be honest, and to do everything in my power to make you happy as my wife. You&rsquo;re where I belong. You&rsquo;re my home, and I promise I&rsquo;ll always protect my home. Actually, no. Not just a promise&hellip; a guarantee.&rdquo; Colby took a moment to capture this moment forever, taking in his bride&rsquo;s radiant glow. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;You are my universe, Smooch Pooch. I love you.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch needed a moment to wipe her tears before she could bring herself to recite her vows in response. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I never thought in a million years that I&rsquo;d ever be strong enough to be up here again. Some dogs think I&rsquo;m strong, or tough, but&hellip; I ain&rsquo;t ever felt it. That is&hellip; not &lsquo;til I met you, Colby,&rdquo; Smooch said, earning a tearful smile from him. However, Smooch&rsquo;s vows then deviated a bit from what she had originally planned. &ldquo;Marriage is about honesty, and I need to be honest with you right now more than ever. While you were up here, waitin&rsquo; so patiently for me - and lookin&rsquo; as handsome as ever, can I just say - well, I&hellip; I ran away.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cheddar and Maw knew this already, but a few light gasps could be heard from the others in the audience. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I ran away, because&hellip; I was scared. I&rsquo;m scared of feelin&rsquo; like I can live &lsquo;happily ever after&rsquo;. Because I felt it before, and&hellip; &lsquo;ever after&rsquo; came and went a lot faster than I thought it would. I know I say &lsquo;I know everythin&rsquo;&rsquo; a lot, but&hellip; truth is, the amount of all the things I don&rsquo;t know <em>terrifies</em> me. I dunno what the future will bring, or where our united destinies will lead us. But the only thing that terrifies me more than not knowing, is the thought of not being by your side all the way there. A very special dog helped me remember that.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch shot a glance over to Cheddar Biscuit with a grateful smile before turning back to her groom.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;So while I can&rsquo;t promise a happily ever after, I <em>can</em> promise you that I&rsquo;ll be there for you. That no matter what, you will always have me. No matter what, you will never be alone. And when I <em>am</em> strong, it&rsquo;ll be because of you, Colby. Because when I&rsquo;m with you, I feel like I can do anythin&rsquo;. When you hold me in yer arms, I&hellip; I&hellip;&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch choked up for a moment, overwhelmed with emotion.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I just know that no matter what, I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. And to think, when I first ran you over with my car that day, I never woulda guessed I&rsquo;d be meetin&rsquo; the love of my life.&rdquo;<br />A mixture of both light laughs and sobs could be heard in the audience as Smooch made a joke to successfully lighten the mood.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I love you, Colby.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Once the vows were concluded, Mayor Sniffington continued with the final portion of the ceremony.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Do you, Colby, take Smooch to be your wedded wife? To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for as long as you li-&rdquo; <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I do,&rdquo; Colby said eagerly before the mayor could even finish her sentence. <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;And do you, Smooch Pooch, take Colby to be your wedded husband? To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for as long as you live?&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I do,&rdquo; Smooch answered in reply, those two words now ringing true without any lingering doubts. <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;And now, the bride and groom would like to do something a little different to pledge their love to each other,&rdquo; Mayor Sniffington announced, handing them back the rings they had given her prior to the ceremony.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Actually, there&rsquo;s someone else that I&rsquo;d like to invite up here for just a moment.&rdquo; Colby turned his head to Scooch, taking out a third ring. &ldquo;Scooch, could you come join us please?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Scooch was a little surprised and confused, as they hadn&rsquo;t done anything like this during the rehearsals, but the little blue terrier approached Colby without hesitation all the same.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby got down on one knee, holding out the ring. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Today, I&rsquo;m not just marrying your mom, but I&rsquo;m also becoming your dad. I want to give you this ring to show my commitment to you.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby gently un-tied the red bandanna around Scooch&rsquo;s neck, sliding both ends through the ring before sliding it up and tying it again as tears of joy welled up in both their eyes.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I promise to always take care of you, to protect you, and no matter what, I&rsquo;ll always be on your side. I can&rsquo;t wait to raise you as my son and see the kind of dog you&rsquo;ll grow up to become. I love you, Scooch. My son.&rdquo; <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Scooch said nothing, simply clenching his eyes tightly shut and leaning his head into Colby&rsquo;s chest as he loudly sobbed into it. He couldn&rsquo;t remember ever having a dad growing up, as he&rsquo;d lost his when he was too young to form memories; but now, today, he finally had what he&rsquo;d always been longing for. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A father. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;It&rsquo;s okay, buddy,&rdquo; Colby whispered as he held Scooch gently, petting his back as he struggled to hold back from bawling equally loudly. But seeing as there was an audience, he was able to somehow hold himself back - if only just barely. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;With one last pat on the back from his new dad, Scooch finally regained his composure enough to wipe his tears and return to the side so the ceremony could be concluded. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Smooch Pooch,&rdquo; Colby said, &ldquo;I give you this ring with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever. It&rsquo;s a symbol of infinity, and my infinite love.&rdquo;<br />Colby held Smooch&rsquo;s paw, slipping the small golden metal band on her middle finger. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Colby,&rdquo; Smooch began to repeat the vow as she put the matching ring on his finger as well. &ldquo;I give you this ring with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever. It&rsquo;s a symbol of infinity, and my infinite love.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Mayor Sniffington smiled as she concluded the ceremony.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;By the power vested in me by the state of Mastiffchewsits, I now pronounce you husband and wife!&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;As Colby leaned down and gave Smooch a smooch on the lips to seal their union, the audience cheered in celebration. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Today, Smooch Pooch and Colby Pooch were officially married.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Are you still sure about takin&rsquo; my last name?&rdquo; Smooch asked as the two of them were finally alone, flying high above the ground in a hot-air balloon over hundreds of acres of cornfields to their honeymoon getaway. &ldquo; It&rsquo;s not even my maiden-name, y&rsquo;know. You&rsquo;d technically be takin&rsquo; <em>Kernel&rsquo;s</em> last name.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I know, and I&rsquo;m perfectly fine with that.&rdquo; Colby answered with a serene smile, feeling the warmth of the evening sun and the gentle breeze brush against the yellow fur on his face. &ldquo;I never really picked a new last name for myself, and &lsquo;Colby Colburn&rsquo; just doesn&rsquo;t sound quite right to me. So I think taking the name &lsquo;Pooch&rsquo; is a good way for me to honor Kernel&rsquo;s memory.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Y&rsquo;know&hellip; I think he&rsquo;d&rsquo;ve really liked you,&rdquo; Smooch said after a brief silence, resting her paw on his. &ldquo; All things considerin&rsquo;, that is.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;That&rsquo;s all I can really hope for,&rdquo; Colby replied, looking down over the edge of the basket they were floating in. &ldquo;I know I never got to meet him, but I still try my best to be the kind of dog he&rsquo;d approve of you being with.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The two closed their eyes and were silent again for some time, simply taking in the silent stillness of the world around them. Scooch was spending the weekend with the Barkers, so Colby and Smooch had the next three days all to themselves with no worries or responsibilities. And after the kind of energy the Barkers brought to the wedding reception, this silence was very much appreciated by the both of them. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Hey Smooch&hellip; look down there.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch opened her eyes again, and as she looked down over the basket, what she saw made her jaw drop. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Windmills, possibly hundreds - no, <em>thousands</em> of them dotted the countryside below.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Oh&hellip; my&hellip; Dog.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I figured you&rsquo;d enjoy this,&rdquo; Colby chuckled, admiring the look of child-like excitement on Smooch&rsquo;s face. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Did&hellip; did <em>you</em> do this?&rdquo; Smooch asked, her eyes wide as she took in the sight of a nearly unfathomable amount of windmills all in one place. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;What, put all these windmills here?&rdquo; Colby chuckled, &ldquo; No, no, but I did plan for us to fly over them. I passed through them on my road-trip with the Ol&rsquo; Yellers back to Pawston, so I figured you might like to see this from the best possible view.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Th-this is incredible! There&rsquo;s an open-trestle post mill! And there&rsquo;s a smock mill! And there&rsquo;s a tower mill! Oh, and look at <em>that</em> one! That&rsquo;s a-&rdquo; Smooch suddenly stopped herself, looking away in embarrassment as she cleared her throat. &ldquo;S-sorry, I was &lsquo;bout to ramble again.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Are you kidding?&rdquo; Colby asked, resting his paw on her back. &ldquo;I <em>love</em> when you go on and on about windmills, I could listen to it all day. I feel like I&rsquo;ve already told you this before.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I-I know, it&rsquo;s just&hellip; Colby?&rdquo; Smooch looked over at her new husband, taking a small step closer to his side. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Hm?&rdquo; Colby looked back at her, noticing a slight change in her disposition. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;What did I ever do to deserve a man like you?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby blushed, taken aback by the sudden question. Although they were now married, he suddenly felt butterflies practically swarming in his stomach, not unlike the ones he felt in the first few days he&rsquo;d gotten to know her. As the orange evening sun shone on Smooch&rsquo;s blue face, Colby swore he saw a glistening glow all around her just like he had on their first date. And although they were mostly hidden under her canine jowls, the faint glossy shine of her dark blue lips looked more kissable to him than ever. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;You didn&rsquo;t have to <em>do</em> anything.&rdquo; Colby&rsquo;s lips trembled as he reached out and held Smooch&rsquo;s face in his paws, leaning in close to her. Their lips were tantalizingly-close, but Colby enjoyed the flustered look on Smooch&rsquo;s face far too much to satisfy her just yet. &ldquo;Because to me, you&rsquo;re&hellip; <em>everything.</em>&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;As the fur around their mouths ever so slightly brushed up against one another, Colby and Smooch could feel the sweet and gentle breath of their spouse against their own. It was only now that the reality truly began to sink in - that they were <em>married</em>. Smooch was now his wife. Colby was now her husband. And for the first time in years, nothing had ever felt quite so right. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch was the first to make a move, pressing her lips firmly but sensually into Colby&rsquo;s. Colby returned it with equal enthusiasm, stroking his fingers through the silky fur on Smooch&rsquo;s cheeks as he politely licked at her lips to request entry. Smooch let out a breathy sigh as she invited him in, feeling as though she were on cloud nine when Colby&rsquo;s tongue greeted hers. It wasn&rsquo;t anything new, per se, as they&rsquo;d kissed hundreds of times like this as a couple. But now that they were officially married, something about this kiss felt particularly different than usual; it gave them the kind of high they&rsquo;d felt during their first kiss among the fireflies that fateful night. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In this one kiss, Colby and Smooch could feel a culmination of their past, present, and future; the pain they&rsquo;d suffered, the love they felt for each other in this very moment, and the coming years they&rsquo;d spend in each other&rsquo;s loving company. Colby imagined himself as an old dog, with an older but still just as lovely and adorable Smooch still by his side. And ideally, in this future, Colby imagined not only a grown-up Scooch, but a child of his and Smooch&rsquo;s as well. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&lsquo;Tonight&hellip;&rsquo;</em> Colby thought as they finally broke their long kiss, giving her a seductive look. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&lsquo;Tonight, I&rsquo;ll ask her again.&rsquo; </em><br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When they finally arrived at their destination, Colby held Smooch&rsquo;s paw as he led her to their honeymoon weekend rental home. It was a cozy-looking two-story cabin at the edge of a lake just on the edge of the massive windmill farm they&rsquo;d flown over, complete with a dock and a rowboat.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;This is <em>amazin&rsquo;,</em>&rdquo; Smooch commented as she paused and looked around in awe at the beautiful scenery, &ldquo;Could we just <em>live</em> here?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Well, I don&rsquo;t know about <em>that,</em>&rdquo; Colby chuckled, suddenly sweeping her off her feet and carrying her bridal-style with ease; she gave out a surprised bark at first, but quickly settled into it. &ldquo; But I&rsquo;m glad you like it.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;He took her inside, secretly finding himself increasingly eager to get to the best part of any honeymoon. <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;After a quick walkthrough of the cabin to get familiarized with where everything was, Colby carried Smooch to the final stop for them to finally settle in for the night after the long and eventful day they&rsquo;d had. Their bedroom was just as rustic as the rest of the house, its walls lined with wooden logs and the king-sized bed in the middle seemingly hand-crafted to match. Across from the bed was a minifridge, as well as a large flat-screen television mounted to the wall for them to watch as they relaxed.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;But at this moment, relaxing was one of the <em>last</em> things on their minds. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Sit,&rdquo; Colby commanded politely but assertively as he set her on the edge of the bed. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;My my, gettin&rsquo; right to the point, ain&rsquo;t we?&rdquo; Smooch&rsquo;s lips curled into a giddy smile as a reddish blush grew on her face, subtly adjusting her thighs just a little further apart for her husband. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Well&hellip; kinda,&rdquo; Colby replied, taking something out from behind his back as Smooch looked at him curiously. What he pulled out was a clear jar of some kind of liquid, which sloshed around inside with a strangely unique sound, and two small cups. To her, it looked like nothing more than ordinary water. &ldquo; But first, I&rsquo;ve been saving this as a surprise specifically for tonight.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;What is that?&rdquo; Smooch asked, wondering what made this apparent water so special.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;This is something I made myself in my free time, though it took a lot of tries to finally get it right. Do you remember when I first mentioned something called &lsquo;alcohol&rsquo; when we first met?&rdquo; Colby asked, setting the cups down on the nearby nightstand.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Yeah, I recall you seemed a little disappointed &lsquo;cause I never heard of it,&rdquo; Smooch recalled.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Sure, but only a little. It&rsquo;s not something I was ever dependent on, but it definitely would&rsquo;ve helped me take the edge off a little after everything that I&rsquo;d been through,&rdquo; Colby paused for a moment as his memories briefly took him back to that empty plane of outerversal existence - until he shook his head, moving on from the subject. &ldquo;Anyway, after lots of trial-and-error, I finally got something that&rsquo;s safe to drink. Relatively-speaking, that is.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Relatively-speakin&rsquo;?&rdquo; Smooch raised an eyebrow. &ldquo;Care to elaborate?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Well, let&rsquo;s just say drinking too much of it can be really&hellip; bad.&rdquo; Colby rubbed the back of his head, giving a nervous laugh. &ldquo; And if it&rsquo;s made incorrectly, even drinking a little bit can be worse. B-but I wanted to make sure this was completely safe, and I&rsquo;ve tested it myself. As long as we drink it responsibly, I think tonight&rsquo;s gonna be a lot of fun. Trust me.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Well, if you&rsquo;re sure it&rsquo;s safe&hellip; I trust you, Colby. Alright, fix me up a glass. Only a little bit, though.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Believe me, a little bit is all it&rsquo;ll take to get the fun goin&rsquo;.&rdquo; Colby replied with a grin as he unknowingly slipped into a slightly Southern accent, eager to see what a drunk Smooch looked like. &ldquo;Oh! I almost forgot to mention, this is called &lsquo;moonshine&rsquo;. And get this, it&rsquo;s made from good ol&rsquo; corn.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Corn! Well now it&rsquo;s <em>gotta</em> be good,&rdquo; Smooch chuckled jokingly, though now genuinely interested to try it for herself. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;However, the moment Colby finally opened the jar, Smooch suddenly felt a gagging reflex well up in her chest as her sensitive dog nose picked up on the aroma that pierced the room with a bitter burn. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;What in the blazes?! Why does it smell like&hellip; <em>that?</em>&rdquo; She asked with a regretful cough, covering her nose. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;That&rsquo;s just how alcohol is, hun&rsquo;,&rdquo; Colby answered as he poured a small shot&rsquo;s worth in each glass, handing her one. &ldquo; You really don&rsquo;t have to do this if you change your mind, I won&rsquo;t force you into it.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;No, no, I wanna try this, really.&rdquo; Smooch gulped as she swirled the liquid around in the glass, trying to hype herself up for the experience. &ldquo;...But I won&rsquo;t lie, I&rsquo;m a little nervous. You&rsquo;re <em>sure</em> this is safe?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I drank a little of it already to be sure of it. I wouldn&rsquo;t let you drink this stuff if I thought it might have any chance of hurting you.&rdquo; Colby rubbed her arm supportively. &ldquo; But just to warn you, you might start to feel a little&hellip; &lsquo;funny&rsquo;, after a few drinks. You&rsquo;ll see what I mean when we get to it. It&rsquo;s best to just drink it all at once, kinda like plunging into really cold water. But it&rsquo;ll be fun, as long as we know our limits.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I&rsquo;m still not sure what you mean, but&hellip; I feel safer doing this with you.&rdquo; Smooch gave Colby a quick kiss and looked down at the glass in her paw with bated breath. &ldquo;Well&hellip; here goes nothin&rsquo;, I guess. Bottoms-up?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Bottom&rsquo;s-up.&rdquo; Colby clinked his glass against hers. &ldquo; And Smooch?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Hm?&rdquo; Smooch looked up at Colby again, and was met with one more kiss before they finally took the plunge. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I just wanna say, for all the roads I&rsquo;ve walked down in this life, I&rsquo;m so grateful that in the end, destiny led me to you.&rdquo; Colby gently held her paw in his, stroking the back of it under his thumb. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;To destiny.&rdquo; Smooch toasted softly as she raised her glass and smiled, holding her breath so as to not be overwhelmed by the smell of alcohol. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;To destiny.&rdquo; Colby raised his glass as well. <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;They both hesitated for a bit, taking several deep breaths to mentally prepare. Then, in one swift and synchronized motion, they threw their heads back and drank it all down in one gulp. <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Unsurprisingly, they both had a harsh reaction to the moonshine running down their throats as it coating their insides with an icy burn, holding onto each other for support as they shuddered and coughed viscerally.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Oh my <em>DOG!</em> My tongue feels like it&rsquo;s on fire! Is that normal?&rdquo; Smooch gave her thoughts between quivering breaths, feeling like her insides were both boiling and freezing at the same time. &ldquo;I can feel it burnin&rsquo; like a wildfire in my chest, holy <em>smokes!</em> And humans actually drink this stuff for <em>fun?!&rdquo;</em><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Oh yeah, that&rsquo;s- heugh, that&rsquo;s moonshine, alright.&rdquo; Colby nodded in confirmation amid nauseous gags of his own; although he was more accustomed to the taste, that didn&rsquo;t mean it hurt any less going down. &ldquo; This is known for being one of the strongest alcohols, so you did really well for your first time.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Hold on, you couldn&rsquo;t&rsquo;a started me off with somethin&rsquo; a little, I dunno, simpler?!&rdquo; Smooch asked harshly, her body still recovering from the stinging sensation on her tongue. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;It&rsquo;s not like I&rsquo;m an expert on alcohol or anything,&rdquo; Colby clutched his chest as he felt it slide down into his stomach, involuntarily shaking his head repeatedly as his body fought to reject it. &ldquo;I just knew that moonshine was made from corn and went with that. I thought it might be fitting.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Well&hellip; pour me another then, I can take it,&rdquo; Smooch said, having finally recovered from the initial shock and seemingly gained some newfound bravery. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Okay, if you insist, but just <em>one more</em> for now. It&rsquo;ll take a few minutes for it to really kick in,&rdquo; Colby said as he poured them each another shot. &ldquo;Remember, this is really strong stuff.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Psh, this ain&rsquo;t nothin&rsquo;,&rdquo; Smooch took the glass from Colby&rsquo;s paw, already feeling a little overzealous. &ldquo;Down the hatch, that&rsquo;s what <em>I</em> say.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby couldn&rsquo;t help but feed off Smooch&rsquo;s brazen confidence, and as they took their second shot together, he could already tell that this was going to be a <em>very</em> fun honeymoon. <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Oh wow&hellip; I think I&rsquo;m startin&rsquo; to feel it now, Colby&hellip;&rdquo; Smooch held her paw against her head, sensing a pleasant tingle in her brain. She let out a dazed giggle as she laid back on the bed. &ldquo; Is this that funny feelin&rsquo; you was tellin&rsquo; me &lsquo;bout?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Hehe, yeah, feels pretty good, right?&rdquo; Colby poured two more shots, just to have them ready for when their buzz began to wear off. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;It sure does&hellip;&rdquo; Smooch grinned as she spread her legs and undid her collar, resting the back of her head on her palms. &ldquo; But I know somethin&rsquo; that&rsquo;ll make it feel even better.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Without a word, Colby knew exactly what she meant. As he looked at his bride laid before him, he tried to think of how he wanted to go about this. This was a special night, and he wanted to take this opportunity to get a little &lsquo;experimental&rsquo;. Try new things. Push a few boundaries. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;He let out a soft growl under his breath as he allowed his more dominant side to take over, grabbing Smooch&rsquo;s thick thighs and squeezing them with his fingers. His paws moved inwards to her plump canine mound, gently squeezing it with his index fingers and thumbs to truly appreciate its swollen girth. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;C-Colby&hellip; ah&hellip;&rdquo; Smooch wanted to protest in embarrassment, but the moonshine had lulled her into such an intense relaxation that she didn&rsquo;t care what Colby did. She knew he would never do anything to make her feel self-conscious about her body - even though she didn&rsquo;t consider herself beautiful by any means, in the bedroom, Colby had always treated her as nothing less than a queen. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Without even thinking about it, Smooch let out an airy huff as she grabbed the back of her knees and lifted her legs as high as she physically could, making sure that Colby knew just how desperately she wanted him in no uncertain terms.&nbsp;&nbsp; <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby continued squeezing, licking his lips and watching in awe as her sweet nectar trickled out like fresh honey. He spread it open with his thumbs, admiring the pink hue of her insides that were enclosed by the glistening blackess of the puffy walls surrounding it. He had seen it plenty of times now over the last year, but he realized he hadn&rsquo;t really taken the time to fully take in and appreciate the visual beauty of it until now. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Finally knowing now just what he wanted to try, Colby suddenly changed things up by assertively grabbing Smooch and spinning her around in such a way that her head dipped backwards just over the edge of the bed. With his canine masculinity now more than ready to &lsquo;go dog go&rsquo;, he wordlessly pressed his hips into Smooch&rsquo;s wet snout to make his desires known to her.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She held his lower back as she deeply inhaled, taking in his scent. She wasn&rsquo;t sure if it was the alcohol or the fact that he was her husband now, but something about Colby&rsquo;s natural musk somehow smelled even more alluring than usual. Her eyes naturally rolled up into her head as she opened her mouth and stuck out her tongue, coating his eagerness with her warm breaths before finally giving it a long lick down the entire length. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Once he knew Smooch was all-in, Colby slowly eased his way into her comfortably inviting mouth as he returned his focus to her arousal. Her scent was overwhelming, yet deeply intoxicating - and Colby couldn&rsquo;t get enough. As he held her thighs in place while gently moving his hips back and forth, he dragged his tongue along her slick opening to get a taste of her desire. One lick led to another, and then another, until finally Colby couldn&rsquo;t take it anymore, burying his tongue within her and sealing it shut with his lips in a lewd kiss. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The sensation of his tongue caused Smooch to ticklishly flail her legs a bit as she continued to pleasure Colby with her own, eventually squeezing her thighs around his head in a tight grip and forcing his head into her pelvis, locking him in place. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Luckily for Colby, this was exactly what he was hoping for. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;As his wet nose pressed firmly against Smooch&rsquo;s sweaty rim, the delicious taste of one hole combined with the natural musk of another created an erotic mixture of flavors in Colby&rsquo;s mouth that made him salivate even more than he already was. And with that, it was time to move on to the next step of his plan; he grabbed Smooch&rsquo;s waist and rolled onto his back, completely reversing their positions on the bed. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Oho, so <em>this</em> is what ya wanted, huh?&rdquo; Smooch cooed with a slurred drawl as she took a moment to breathe, the moonshine now having completely muddled her brain into intoxication. &ldquo; You like when I <em>sit</em> on yer face?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&ldquo;Mhm!&rdquo;</em> Colby let out a muffled grunt of approval as he gave two enthusiastic thumbs-up. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Hm, well that&rsquo;s good&hellip; &lsquo;cause so do I&hellip;&rdquo; Smooch moaned as she pressed the full weight of her body down on Colby&rsquo;s muzzle, and a slight whine of pure ecstasy escaped from his lungs as she resumed returning the favor on his throbbing bone. She didn&rsquo;t bother asking him if he was uncomfortable or in any pain, because she knew that if he was, he could easily let her know with a few taps on her behind. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Besides, this was her wedding night - for once, she was allowed to be a little selfish. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby felt like he was in heaven as he was completely smothered under Smooch&rsquo;s perfect rear, never wanting this moment to end. He savored every drop of his wife&rsquo;s sweetness, alternating his tongue from one entrance to the next to give each equal attention. The moonshine that fogged his mind into a blurry daze made the experience all the more pleasurable as it eliminated any and all thoughts or cares other than the pure carnal pleasure he felt in this moment. That, and the pure love he felt for Smooch. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;As he fixated on his intense love for his new wife, Colby dug his fingers into the fur on her lower back. And although he didn&rsquo;t intend to, he began to lightly cry as his emotions were heightened by the alcohol in his veins; even so, he never stopped using his tongue to satisfy her even for a second. If anything, the emotional state that the moonshine had put him in had made him even more aroused by their passionate union. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In a matter of seconds, Smooch started to feel more emotional in just the same way, tears of joy and love trickling down her furry blue cheeks as she swallowed Colby&rsquo;s length down to the hilt. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It wasn&rsquo;t long until, bombarded by warm feelings of marital affection, Colby and Smooch both began to feel that much-awaited pressure building deep in their loins. As Colby began to thrust his hips into Smooch&rsquo;s muzzle, so too did Smooch quicken her gyrating movements on Colby&rsquo;s. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Soon, a harmonious duet of bliss filled the bedroom as the newlyweds consummated their marriage. <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;After several minutes of coming down from their afterglow, Colby drunkenly crawled over Smooch and gave her a clumsy kiss on the lips as he rubbed her side. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Hey&hellip; Smooch&hellip;&rdquo; <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Wassat now?&rdquo; Smooch asked, still feeling rather dizzy from her euphoria as well as the alcohol. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Smooch&hellip; <em>Smoooch&hellip;</em> you got such a funny name, y&rsquo;know?&rdquo; Colby chuckled, but immediately backtracked. &ldquo; Not, not funny, <em>cute,</em> tha&rsquo;s wha&rsquo; I meant. Yer name is adorbable. Smooch, like a <em>kiss.</em> &lsquo;Cause I always wanna kiss you so mush.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby followed up with several more kisses on her lips, which trailed off to her cheek and down her neck.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Heh, well I think yer name is cute too, Colby. Even if iss not yer real name.&rdquo; Smooch gave him an extremely tight hug, relishing in his tender kisses on her fur. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Oh yeah, I had sumthin&rsquo; I wanted to ask ya,&rdquo; Colby suddenly paused, putting on a serious face - at least, as serious of a face as he could, given his current condition. &ldquo;D&rsquo;you think you&rsquo;d be ready to&hellip; um&hellip; have a&hellip;&rdquo;<br />Smooch simply looked up at him, looking a little confused as to where he was going with this.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;A puppy? With me?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch was silent for a time, thinking it over carefully. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Is this somethin&rsquo; you really want?&rdquo; She asked.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Yes,&rdquo; Colby responded without hesitation, stroking her face. &ldquo; But I don&rsquo; want you to feel pressured into it. I want you to want it.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Thank you, Colby. That really means a lot. Then, if I&rsquo;m bein&rsquo; honest&hellip; no. I&rsquo;m still not ready. Not yet, anyways.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Oh&hellip; okay.&rdquo; Colby looked downwards, visibly disappointed. Truthfully, he was hoping that tonight of all nights she might finally be willing to take that final step. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I&rsquo;m sorry, Colby&hellip; but I do have some good news,&rdquo; Smooch continued, trying to cheer Colby up. &ldquo; This happens to be a safe time o&rsquo; the year fer me anyways, so&hellip; fer our honeymoon, you get to finish inside as mush as you want.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby looked back up at her, his face lighting up a little. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;...As mush as I want?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;As <em>mush</em> as ya want. I <em>insist.</em>&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Well&hellip; I guess I do like the sound o&rsquo; that,&rdquo; Colby smiled again, already going in for another round.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Hol&rsquo; on, before we go at it again, gimme another one o&rsquo; them moonlight-thingies.&rdquo; Smooch pointed over to the jar.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Moonshinies,&rdquo; Colby corrected her, albeit incorrectly. &ldquo; But this is the <em>las&rsquo;</em> one fer tonight, &lsquo;kay? We wan&rsquo; it to las&rsquo;... the whole honeymoon.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;He stumbled over to the jar, carefully pouring them each one more small shot&rsquo;s worth - but accidentally spilling a bit over the sides. He then sauntered over to the minifridge and took out two water bottles for when they inevitably got thirsty, as well as for diluting the alcohol out of their systems when they were spent. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When he returned, they took their third shot of moonshine together, followed by another round of pained shudders and coughs. With plenty of alcohol already in their systems, it didn&rsquo;t take long at all for them to feel the effects of what they had just added to it; both Smooch and Colby felt an almost primal urge welling up within them, like they were transforming into ravenous wolves rather than humble dogs. But instead of a bloodlust for prey, all they felt was an insatiable lust for each other&rsquo;s bodies. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Colby was the first to attack, pinning Smooch to the bed by her wrists and fiercely penetrating her mouth with his tongue. Smooch wasn&rsquo;t one to give in, however, as she wrapped her legs around his waist and pressed Colby into her with a surprisingly powerful lock in place. With one smooth motion almost faster than he could keep up with, Colby was forced to plunge down to the hilt by Smooch herself. Although he was on top and appeared to be the dominant one in this position, Colby suddenly felt as if he were at Smooch&rsquo;s whim as her legs were like an inescapable trap around his lower back. Not that he minded - it had barely been an hour, and&nbsp;&nbsp;everything about this honeymoon was already as exciting as he&rsquo;d hoped. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch held the back of Colby&rsquo;s head with her paws and firmly locked him into their passionate kiss, encouraging him to rock his hips into hers without restraint. From then, everything quickly became a fuzzy blur of yellows and blues as they allowed the moonshine to do its work, their bodies moving in whatever way felt the most natural to them. Their paws, their hips, and their lips all worked together in perfect sync as they did their best to express their love for one another. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Eventually, Colby had pinned Smooch to the bed flat on her stomach, lifting her rear end up in the air at just the right angle as he pressed his hips into her with the kind of dominance that he couldn&#039;t deny he rather enjoyed.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Heh&hellip; heheh,&rdquo; he chuckled as he paused for a moment, having thought of something he&rsquo;d never considered before. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Wha&rsquo;s&hellip; wha&rsquo;s so funny, huh?&rdquo; Smooch asked drunkenly, looking back at him sternly. For a moment, she wondered if he was poking fun at the shape of her middle-aged butt. &ldquo; If yer makin&rsquo; fun o&rsquo; me or sumthin&rsquo;, I&rsquo;ll bite ya.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;No, you look as bootyful- HA, I mean beautiful as always, Smooshy-pooshy,&rdquo; Colby sluggishly replied, as he was still feeling quite drunk as well. &ldquo; But I was jus&rsquo; wondering, now that I thinkin&rsquo; &lsquo;bout it&hellip; this position we&rsquo;re in now, do y&rsquo;all still call it &lsquo;doggystyle&rsquo; in this world, or just &lsquo;style&rsquo;?<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;...Jus&rsquo; shut up and keep fuckin&rsquo; me, Colby.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The night went on, and Colby took full-advantage of Smooch&rsquo;s honeymoon offer. However, with both of them completely spent as they finally came down from their inebriated state, the two could hardly believe their eyes as the sunrise started to peek through the nearby window. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Were we really up <em>all night?&rdquo;</em> Smooch blinked in disbelief as she cuddled into Colby&rsquo;s side in exhaustion, stroking his stomach with her paw.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Sure looks like it.&rdquo; Colby smiled proudly, giving his wife a kiss on the forehead. &ldquo; But it was a fun night though, right?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;It sure was. That moonshine stuff tastes terrible, and it&rsquo;s givin&rsquo; me a bit of a headache now, but you sure weren&rsquo;t lyin&rsquo; when you said it&rsquo;d be a good time.&rdquo; Smooch snickered, only vaguely remembering the passionate blur of the night before. &ldquo;Think you&rsquo;ll ever share it with the rest of the world?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&ldquo;Fuck</em> no, this was only for you and you alone.&rdquo; Colby shook his head immediately before resting it against Smooch&rsquo;s as he finally felt a wall of tiredness hitting him. &ldquo;I already destroyed everything I used to make it, so this was pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Just one more reason why we should drink the rest sparingly over the honeymoon. No, this world&rsquo;s too perfect to have something like alcohol ruin it. Trust me, it&rsquo;s way more trouble than it&rsquo;s worth.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Fair, fair.&rdquo; Smooch closed her eyes and began to bury her face into her husband&rsquo;s chest, hugging him firmly in her arms as she whispered, &ldquo;...and Colby?&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Hm?&rdquo; Colby hummed, snuggling against Smooch&rsquo;s thick bodily warmth as he began to drift off.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;...Please, don&rsquo;t stop askin&rsquo; me for a puppy. I know I want one with you someday. Just&hellip; wait for me. Don&rsquo;t stop trying. Don&rsquo;t&hellip; give up&hellip; on me.&rdquo;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooch&rsquo;s words trailed off into snores, and as Colby brushed her head with his paw while he closed his eyes to the rising sun, Colby made a silent vow to honor her request.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&lsquo;Give up on </em><strong><em>you,</em></strong><em> Smooch? I&rsquo;d rather die.&rsquo;</em></span>",
