  "description": "21- Dice\n\nDifferent faces of the same block can be frequently frustrating. You roll and roll and roll in the hopes of acquiring the desired permutation of fate to settle in your favor. But fate is fickle. And ante is finding himself tested in ways he never though possible before. \n\nHe heard of the tales from other lords of uniquely durable spirits. Ones where no matter how many times you dominate them, no matter how many times you break their spirit. they always come back. They are a rare delicacy for Naga Lords because such spirits are precious. \n\nBecause they are [i]durable.\n\n[/i]Eight. Times.\n\nEight times he played craps with Kyra, and Eight times she lost her soul to him. Yet No matter how many souls he collected from her, she would always come back the next day. ready to gamble again. \n\nHe made her a trashy bimbo. He made her a tradwife. He made her a call girl. a punk. A seductive college professor. Yet every time she went to bed, she reset. \n\n\nHe stared at a stack of tokens, using her own soul tokens as the collateral for the bets she just kept losing. She was even losing on purpose. At first there was excitement at the potential of infinite soul energy from someone. but the more he played, the more he realized the tokens had no energy to them. no power that he gained. Literally hollow and pointless. He played against her because he was curious. Would she break for good this time? would she yield proper this time? It was maddening. but exciting. \n\nHe rolled the dice in his hand, ruby gems that she swooned over. Eyes little glazed jewels savoring every delicate rattle of the plastic.  the clear red surface see through as the clack clack clacking left her dazed and peaceful. He stared back. his eyes boring into the back of her brain like he hungered to etch his legacy across her bust. \n\nWhat scared him a little was not that she was such a durable soul. but each failed attempt at permanence made his hunger grow. This mouse was unattainable in pactweave. and he ached to see her fall over and over. If not to claim her properly, then to better witness this phenomena in all its permutations. \n\nPerhaps one roll of her mind will settle on the iteration he is looking for. \n\n\n\n-----\nMore of a sketch this time around but this was what Sabri drew the first time I described Ante to her and she fell in love with the concept. \n\nArtwork by Sabri",
