"description": "Spoilers ahead - you've been warned before reading! Since the design was laid down for Jake Thumpings to be Taylor's confirmed second and final love partner, but also to have Liam McHowl be the one to get her pregnant for story plot and character arc reasons - the framework was made to ultimately lead us to this point by the end of the series: A rare case of a leading female protagonist in a big fantasy novel series being involved in a healthy poly relationship. When book 3 drops next year, you can see more building blocks being set for the future of this eventual outcome for Taylor and Ahya's love life. Liam may be the daddy of her future pups and a part-time lover by the end of the series, but Jake becomes the father of responsibility for those pups and Taylor/Ahya's full-time lover - but during those infrequent instances when Liam is around to dote on Taylor, Ahya and his kids, the four of them waste no time in taking advantage of the opportunity, not that any of them mind!\n\n----\n\n\"Thanks for hearing me out on this.\" Liam exhaled with relief after having the two of them slip into the bedroom behind him, shutting the door.
