"writing": "\t\t\t\t Fall of the Clans\n\nThe night was silent. Nothing but the sound of crickets filled the air. A great contrast from earlier, where the sound of warriors could be heard for miles. Training for battle, but battle for what? That's why they were sent to spy on the fox clan.\n\nTormund waited patiently, hiding in the leaves. But the little grey wolf's patience was starting to run out! At least watching the foxes provided some entertainment. Now that they were turning to their beds, it was boring, but he knew better than to complain and compromise their position. Especially with the Clan's Shadow.\n\nShadow was the name given to the leader of the scout caste in every clan. It was an honor to be chosen to accompany him on a mission of this importance! Shadow Quaylar kept his eyes focused on the village, the black wolf blended perfectly into his surroundings. Sometimes Tor had to look twice to realize he was still there. Even now his focus never wavered waiting for the return of Korro, his other apprentice.\n\nKorro was a few years older than Tormund, and had more experience than him, which is why the Shadow Master allowed him to get closer to the village. As much as Tor disliked Korro for the attention he got from Quaylar, he didn't want anything bad to happen to him. It would upset his master.\n\nQuaylar was always careful not to let any emotion show, but after nearly a year of training from him he was able to pick out the small signs that every person showed. Such as their scent, and Quaylar was on edge.\n\n It all started with the disappearance of the rabbit clan. They were supposed to trade some valuable spices with them on the day after the full moon, but they never showed. After five days with no word, the Chieftain sent a small party to discover what was wrong.\n\nThey returned with horrible news. The rabbit clan had been completely wiped out. Their people slaughtered. Korro had gone with them, and the brown wolf reported that the Rabbit Chieftain's amulet was missing. This was an act of war. And it was their mission to find out who started it.\n\nThey started with the obvious, the Bear Clan. Their Chieftain was always hungry for battle, but they didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Then the Otters, Stags, finally the foxes. And here they saw them crafting weapons, running drills, brewing poisons.\n\n``Stay sharp, Tormund.'' Quaylar said.\n\nTormund broke his train of thought and focused back on the Fox Clan. That's when he heard movement. Korro appeared in a nearby tree. With grace worthy of any shadow he leapt down in front of Quaylar.\n\n``Speak, Korro.''\n\n``Shadow,'' Korro said. ``I overheard the Fox Chieftain. He plans to destroy all the other clans and expand the fox territory throughout all the lands.''\n\nAs much as Tormund wanted to listen in he knew what his job was, to keep lookout. Still that didn't stop him from listening in.\n\n``He poisoned the river that the Rabbit Clan drinks from. And plans to do similar tactics to weaken the other clans. The bears are next.''\n\n``And you're are certain the rabbits have been completely wiped out?'' Quaylar asked.\n\n``He had the Chieftains amulet, also apparently his apprentice killed young Kitan, as well.''\n\nTormund jerked his head towards the two. He couldn't believe Kitan was dead. He had met the young rabbit during the yearly clan gathering and the two became fast friends. When they told him they didn't find his body among the dead it gave him hope that he had escaped. Now his heart was filled with despair.\n\n``It's time to go. We must alert the Chieftain immediately.'' Quaylar said. \n\nTormund got up from his position and joined the other two wolves. They then raced into the night heading back to their clan. As usual Tormund fell behind the two. His little legs couldn't keep up, but the fact that he hadn't totally lost sight of them proved that he was getting faster. At least until he tripped.\n\nWith a loud yelp he landed on the ground as something tangled across his legs. ``Ooooouch. I hope Quaylar didn't see that.'' He said as he picked himself up, but before he could he was dragged back into the forest!\n\nHe had to stifle his cry. He pulled out his knife to cut whatever it was that pulled him further into the forest. But whatever this was around his leg, it wouldn't cut.\n\n``What is this?'' Tormund cried. When it finally stopped pulling him he noticed that it seemed to get larger and tighter. It was a shadow! And it was wrapping around his body!\n\nJust as the shadow had finished wrapping around his head he was suddenly free. Quaylar and Korro were there, and clenched tightly in his hand was a knife glowing with a blue light. A magic dagger.\n\n``Going after a child, have the foxes truly sunk so low?'' Quaylar growled.\n\n``This is war, mutt.'' A voice from the shadows said. ``And in war there are no rules.'' Suddenly, all the shadows melted away and they were surrounded by several foxes. But the tallest one was decorated in runes and had a talisman around his neck.\n\n``Their Shadow is a Caster?'' Korro hissed.\n\n``Yes, well I do have an affinity for magic, I just feel more at home with the shadows.'' The fox said. ``Now, will you surrender quietly or will you resist?\n\nQuaylar answered by throwing smoke pellets onto the ground. Both the foxes and wolves moved. Tormund knew what to do, he had been trained for this. Their master would hold the other foxes off, while he and Korro separated to get back to the clan. If either one of them could make it back alive, they could stop the foxes.\n\nTormund kept moving. He took the route through the forest, while Korro took the one through the river. He wasn't as fast as the other wolf, but he knew his way around the woods. He would make it. That's when the ground erupted beneath him.\n\nHe was thrown a good distance and his leg was injured, but other than that he was alright.\n\n``Wow, you're quick on your feet.'' A voice in the trees spoke. Tormund looked up to see a young fox kit hanging from the trees. The kit jumped down a good few feet from him, it was then that Tormund noticed the amulet around his neck.\n\n``That amulet...''\n\n``Oh this,'' The kit said as he raised his latest prize. ``I got it from some dumb bunny who thought he could kill my chieftain.''\n\n``You... you're Hakan's apprentice.'' Tormund concluded.\n\n``That's right. The future ruler of the Vulpine Empire, Jorik.'' The kit said with a smug grin.\n\n``I thought you were training with the warrior caste.'' Tormund said. ``What are you doing with the scouts?'' \n\n``I am, but I train with the scouts, too. The way I see it, the more skills I have, the better prepared I'll be.'' Jorik said as he pulled a knife from his loincloth. \n\n``You murdered my friend, Kitan. Why are you attacking the clans!?'' Tormund said as he pulled out his own knife.\n\n``A species has to expand or die. It's as simple as that. And the one who strikes first wins.'' With that Jorik lunged at the fox.\n\nTormund leaned backwards and just as the kit was on top of him he pushed his legs upward and watched the kit hurl behind him. Tormund sprung up and attacked the downed kit, swiping his knife at the kit's back.\n\nJorik hissed out loud as he grasped his back. Tormund didn't let up, he jumped upon the kit's back attempting to stab him. But Jorik grabbed him by his head and pulled him off his back.\n\nAs Tormund groaned in pain after landing on his back, Jorik took the opportunity to pummel the downed wolf. Tormund was helpless as the young kit's fist rained down on him, left and right. When he was done, Jorik dragged the young pup to where his knife laid on the ground. Tormund tried in vain to get the kit's paw off of his head fur, but Jorik was strong, no doubt due to his training from the warrior caste.\n\n``I'll hang your head next to the bunny's. Two trophies in one month.'' Jorik said.\n\nTormund began to panic and frantically tried to escape. Jorik could sense the wolf panicking, but it didn't matter now. He had reached the knife and now he was about to finish it.\n\n``Alright, time to finish this--'' Jorik was cut off as rolled backwards, twisting the kit's arm, and then performed a somersault and landed a few feet from the kit.\n\nJorik growled at the wolf pup. ``Nice trick, but that still won't...'' Jorik looked down at his paws and saw that they were tied together, by Tormund's loincloth! ``How did you do that!?''\n\nTormund, who now stood naked, didn't waste time. He lunged for the knife and grabbed it before Jorik could. He then passed Jorik and sliced at his side. Jorik began pulling at his bindings, he would lose if he couldn't get his paws free.\n\nThat's when he spotted the other knife on the ground and made a break for it. ``Oh no, you don't!'' Tormund yelled. Putting his scout training to the test he used a sprinting technique taught to him by his master and crossed the distance between him and the fox in one leap.\n\n``Ack!!'' Jorik shouted as Tormund landed on his back. The young wolf then began to try and bind the kit's legs as well, of course the only thing he had to use, was Jorik's loincloth.\n\nJorik, sensing what the wolf was about to do, began to flail around until he knocked the pup off of him. While his feet remained free, Tormund had succeeded in removing his loincloth.\n\n``Maybe I'll keep this as a trophy.'' Tormund taunted as he held the kit's loincloth in front of him. Jorik could only growl as he was still bound. He had to find a way to get his paws free!\n\nOnce again, Tormund attacked, and Jorik was once again forced on the defensive. He sprang from side to side, doing his best to avoid the young wolf, but eventually Tormund caught on to his movements. Jorik feinted one direction and then jumped to where the fox was heading. Jorik was caught!\n\nTormund pinned Jorik on his back as he landed on top of the kit. ``Now it's your turn to die!'' Tormund plunged the knife down towards the kits skull!\n\nBut Jorik raised his bound hands just in time. His wrist were cut, but the loincloth was torn as well! ``Not today, dog!'' Raising his knee upward. Jorik struck Tormund's fragile pup makers!\n\nTormund gasped as he fell off the kit, shielding his balls. Meanwhile, Jorik tore on his bindings with his teeth until he was finally free. He then went over to Tormund and pulled his legs apart and stomped on the defenseless orbs!\n\nTormund's cries echoed throughout the woods, Jorik took great pleasure in the pup's pain. Dragging the pup by his legs over to the knife, Jorik savored the look of pain on Tormund's face as he was still moaning. That's when he plunged the knife into the pup's throat.\n\nTormund's eyes widened in horror as he felt the cold steel slip into his body. As he stared into Jorik's eyes. He tried to utter some word of defiance, something to get under the kit's fur. But the only thing that came out was his own blood.\n\n``And the other clans will fall just as you and the rabbits.'' Jorik said as the young pup died. Another kill to his growing list.\n\n``Chieftain!'' Korro busted into the Chieftain's tent, ungracefully throwing himself to the floor. ``The foxes are preparing for war!''\n\nThe Wolf Chieftain rose from his chair. His two sons following close behind. ``Korro. Where is my Shadow, and your fellow apprentice.''\n\nKorro grimaced at the words. ``Our Shadow engaged with the shadow of the foxes and his scouts, I fear the worst. As for Tormund, I don't know. I hoped--''\n\n``What do you mean, you don't know.'' One of the pups shouted. ``He just started his apprenticeship, you should have been watching his back!''\n\n``Quiet, boy!'' The Chieftain shouted. His son began to pout silently, while his brother tried to comfort him. He knew his son had feelings for the young scout. But now wasn't the time for that. It was time for war.\n\n",

He had reached the knife and now he was about to finish it.<br /><br />``Alright, time to finish this--&#039;&#039; Jorik was cut off as rolled backwards, twisting the kit&#039;s arm, and then performed a somersault and landed a few feet from the kit.<br /><br />Jorik growled at the wolf pup. ``Nice trick, but that still won&#039;t...&#039;&#039; Jorik looked down at his paws and saw that they were tied together, by Tormund&#039;s loincloth! ``How did you do that!?&#039;&#039;<br /><br />Tormund, who now stood naked, didn&#039;t waste time. He lunged for the knife and grabbed it before Jorik could. He then passed Jorik and sliced at his side. Jorik began pulling at his bindings, he would lose if he couldn&#039;t get his paws free.<br /><br />That&#039;s when he spotted the other knife on the ground and made a break for it. ``Oh no, you don&#039;t!&#039;&#039; Tormund yelled. Putting his scout training to the test he used a sprinting technique taught to him by his master and crossed the distance between him and the fox in one leap.<br /><br />``Ack!!&#039;&#039; Jorik shouted as Tormund landed on his back. The young wolf then began to try and bind the kit&#039;s legs as well, of course the only thing he had to use, was Jorik&#039;s loincloth.<br /><br />Jorik, sensing what the wolf was about to do, began to flail around until he knocked the pup off of him. While his feet remained free, Tormund had succeeded in removing his loincloth.<br /><br />``Maybe I&#039;ll keep this as a trophy.&#039;&#039; Tormund taunted as he held the kit&#039;s loincloth in front of him. Jorik could only growl as he was still bound. He had to find a way to get his paws free!<br /><br />Once again, Tormund attacked, and Jorik was once again forced on the defensive. He sprang from side to side, doing his best to avoid the young wolf, but eventually Tormund caught on to his movements. Jorik feinted one direction and then jumped to where the fox was heading. Jorik was caught!<br /><br />Tormund pinned Jorik on his back as he landed on top of the kit. ``Now it&#039;s your turn to die!&#039;&#039; Tormund plunged the knife down towards the kits skull!<br /><br />But Jorik raised his bound hands just in time. His wrist were cut, but the loincloth was torn as well! ``Not today, dog!&#039;&#039; Raising his knee upward. Jorik struck Tormund&#039;s fragile pup makers!<br /><br />Tormund gasped as he fell off the kit, shielding his balls. Meanwhile, Jorik tore on his bindings with his teeth until he was finally free. He then went over to Tormund and pulled his legs apart and stomped on the defenseless orbs!<br /><br />Tormund&#039;s cries echoed throughout the woods, Jorik took great pleasure in the pup&#039;s pain. Dragging the pup by his legs over to the knife, Jorik savored the look of pain on Tormund&#039;s face as he was still moaning. That&#039;s when he plunged the knife into the pup&#039;s throat.<br /><br />Tormund&#039;s eyes widened in horror as he felt the cold steel slip into his body. As he stared into Jorik&#039;s eyes. He tried to utter some word of defiance, something to get under the kit&#039;s fur. But the only thing that came out was his own blood.<br /><br />``And the other clans will fall just as you and the rabbits.&#039;&#039; Jorik said as the young pup died. Another kill to his growing list.<br /><br />``Chieftain!&#039;&#039; Korro busted into the Chieftain&#039;s tent, ungracefully throwing himself to the floor. ``The foxes are preparing for war!&#039;&#039;<br /><br />The Wolf Chieftain rose from his chair. His two sons following close behind. ``Korro. Where is my Shadow, and your fellow apprentice.&#039;&#039;<br /><br />Korro grimaced at the words. ``Our Shadow engaged with the shadow of the foxes and his scouts, I fear the worst. As for Tormund, I don&#039;t know. I hoped--&#039;&#039;<br /><br />``What do you mean, you don&#039;t know.&#039;&#039; One of the pups shouted. ``He just started his apprenticeship, you should have been watching his back!&#039;&#039;<br /><br />``Quiet, boy!&#039;&#039; The Chieftain shouted. His son began to pout silently, while his brother tried to comfort him. He knew his son had feelings for the young scout. But now wasn&#039;t the time for that. It was time for war.<br /><br /></span>",
