Cynane is a Khezu. Khezu are one of the few monster species who are naturally a hermaphrodite. Her pudge and wrinkles serve to keep in body heat, so even naked, she is more likely to suffer overheating than ever catching a chill. All hunter monsters generally forego clothing due to their transformations being destructive to anything they wear and the body scars dotting Cynane's body showcase this in full, despie her hide being durable enough to take the punishment most human armor can deal with.
Cynane has a phantom recessive trait that has given her an off-white head of hair; something hunter monsters normally don't have and is a throwback to their human roots.
Cynane is energetic, kind, somewhat of a loudmouth, and quite the glutton; frequently stashing extra food on herself, often in the umbrella-like maw of her tail. While she lacks the ability to generate electricity or fly in her humanoid form, her neck has no bones in it and still retains the elastic capability Khezu's are known for., as well as retaining gecko like pads on her hands and feet enabling her to climb sheer surfaces and ceilings. Despite being blind, her abilities are not hindered in the slightest and will give most sight capable foes a severe challenge.

Cynane had been patrolling the outskirts of the frigid desert locations of the home island of the hunter monsters. She had heard that some of the smaller hunter monsters had gone missing and intended to find out why. Armed with only a Ravager Blade, the nude Khezu tracked the unknown assailant into a cavern that gave a fair few confusing sonar images, but also gave a very distinct smell of bodies and some sort of arthropod. Very soon afterwards,she was set upon by a Shrouded Nerscylla, a natural predator of Khezu. This would have been a problem if Cynane was a normal Khezu. Instead, she used her honed skills to track the spider and fought it like a human; out thinking it. Still, Shrouded Nerscylla are not to be trifled with and even with her skill, she took a hard slice to her head, adding another scar to her body. That only fueled her combat anger and with a few more mighty swings, the spider had been felled.
Afterwards, as she removed a few key parts of the spider, Cynane heard something. In the web, she found a small Remobra girl.
Ferra, as she recounted her name, didn't recall much other than the fact that she woke up "on a strange glass bed", then she was attacked by the Nerscylla. Cynane took the young lass with her back to the mainland with the announcement of the slain spider. As a result, Cynane was given permission to enter the hunter trials to become an official hunter.
Ferra was granted nerscylla armor and provided support for Cynane while Cynane did the hard hitting during the hunting that took place to make her armor that would obscure her form to the humans.
Once that was done, they were granted clearance to head to the hunters guild.

Ferra is soft spoken and is technically one of the G1 human hybrids that were imperfect, hence her hermaphrodite body structure. Her monster form doubles as transport for Cynane in and out of zones without Cynane needing to form shift and risk being spotted. She tends to serve as the calm, collected one of the duo.
