Fernview Boarding School is home to cubs from kindergarten to high school. Any cub with parents that are too rich and too busy to bother dealing with them, end up sent to Fernview. The teachers and counselors may as well be surrogate parents, as they spend more time with the children than actual parents, who tend to only see the children during holidays, vacations, and family events.

Fernview has strict academic and physical standards, at least compared to public school. High quality food and easy access to public sports and outdoor activities encourages children to enjoy being healthy, and personalized counseling and training programs give children the skills to know how to apply to jobs and colleges. Fernview has a 99% graduation rate and many of its students go on to be surprisingly successful and well-adjusted for the most part.

Perhaps surprisingly for such a strict school, though, they are very progressive. The school does have a uniform code--but students can choose pants, shorts, or skirts, regardless  of gender or sexual orientation. Sexual education classes include lengthy education about safe sex, as well as further confirmation that no sexual orientation should be seen as 'wrong'.  Students who harass others based on religion, species, gender, or sexual orientation face severe consequences and lengthy counseling.

Birth control is freely available at the nurse's office, provided without judgment or comment. Options range from condoms, to birth control pills, to even sugary soda drinks with birth control medicine in them to be more appealing to the very young cubs.

Though separation from their parents is not traditionally seen as the way children should be raised, Fernview has its merits. The close proximity to other students helps the children to build a strong network of friendships that will last their entire lives. They also develop good coping and conflict resolution skills, having to often deal with their classmates without mommy and daddy coming in to solve the disputes for them. 

Extracurricular activities such as theater, sports, camping, and orchestra give the children ample opportunities to create wonderful memories. One memory in particular is shared by almost all students in Fernview, regardless of species, or what social circles they run in: The Senior Send-Off Party.

The Senior Send-Off is a huge party that happens toward the end of every year. It's not an 'official' party like the Promenade, nor is it a formal event, but it's a tradition that students have enjoyed for generations. Many staff of Fernview were students in the school and remember what it was like for themselves, gladly turning a blind eye to questionable events that may be happening so that the students can build the sorts of memories that they themselves cherish.

The seniors are given access to the banquet hall, as well as several of the smaller, connected rooms. There's food of all sorts and alcohol. Though technically only those 18+ are allowed to drink, and the staff is legally obligated to discipline any underage student that drinks, there are no staff present at the party. As long as the students don't run their mouths, anybody can have a little beer.

Unlike more formal parties like the promenade, ALL students are allowed in the Senior Send-Off. And it's not a secret what happens there: Sex. Lots and lots of sex.

Seniors make it a goal to have sex with as many undergraduates as they can, and anybody that attends the party is fair game. While it's mostly adolescent students that bother to attend, at least a few youngsters show up each year as well. Perhaps drawn by curiosity, or perhaps the excitement of getting to do something 'naughty', perhaps the thrill of a party where there's alcohol and no adults (that alone is a big draw in a strict boarding school!) or even the flattering feeling of having an older student pay attention to them. And for seniors who may have some rather deviant tastes, this is also one of the few times that having sex with a much-too-young cub would not be at all taboo.

The Senior Send-Off is how most students of Fernview lose their virginity. The reasons are myriad. For some cubs, it's because they know that it's a sort of guaranteed score. They needn't work to build a relationship, simply show up to find a roomful of horny seniors looking to fuck as many undergraduates as they can in one night. For some, it feels like a safe way to get to know their freshly budding bodies, a sort of safe and anonymous to explore sex--after all, the seniors are about to graduate, so they never need to worry about meeting their one-time lovers in the hallways again and having an awkward situation. For other cubs, it's the result of simply caving into peer pressure.

Whatever the reason, cubs of all ages end up at the Senior Send-Off, and not a single one escapes without participating in the seniors' games.

Now, to be fair, most cubs who go are EXCITED to be there. But there are a few who were just curious, or didn't know what they were getting into, or were practically dragged there by a friend. Peer pressure in a boarding school can be a hell of a thing, when you know that you're going to be answering to your classmates every day for the rest of your school career. Though sexual education classes and school policy strongly encourage tolerance, many students will cave regardless to avoid a perception that their friends are judging them.

Most seniors are good about it. If a cub shows reluctance to play along, they'll usually either go find a more willing fuckbuddy, or gently coax the cub along to get a more positive reaction.

Unfortunately, when alcohol and libido intertwine, that coaxing can be perhaps a little more forceful than is acceptable. And in some cases, some seniors might simply decide that they don't care about consent at all. After all, everybody knows what the Senior Send-Off is about, so any cub that comes to the party is basically seen as a volunteer!

Needless to say, there are at least a few cases of rape per year... and not a single one gets reported, for any number of reasons. There's peer pressure, friends insisting that if you didn't enjoy the party, there's something weird about you. There's alcohol--not only does alcohol make it difficult for a student to remember who raped them, but it makes reporting the incident very difficult, as it would require the student to confess that they were drinking. For many students, the fear of discipline that will involve their parents is enough to shut their mouths. And lastly, it's very, very difficult to convince anybody that it actually happened. The strong tradition of the Senior Send-Off is such that most people just assume consent is given the moment one enters the banquet hall!

Still, the vast majority of students will remember the Senior Send-Off as one of the biggest highlights of their childhood, from their first visit as a young cub, to their final hurrah as a graduating senior. Even the students that had a less-than-pleasant first time usually do return again a few years later, and find a way to replace those negative memories with more positive ones.
