pic from [iconname]Isil[/iconname] (thank you so much for doing this) of Dali going through a radical bi-lateral orchiectomy. Don't worry, he's not feeling a thing, he's under general anesthesia, he'll be back up and around, albeit carefully within a week. The reason for the surgery being suspected cancer.\n\nI commissioned this pic because this is the same surgery I went through in 2011. Overall it wasn't too awful, thankfully I'll never have to worry about testicular cancer ever again, although not quite how I'd like to avoid it. \n\nI'll touch this story up at a later date (ie fix typos, maybe add detail as to how things have been since etc), here it is as posted on my xtube acct:\n\nSince so many people seem interested in the story of my becoming a eunuch here\"s the info on that:\nIn Jan of 2011 I was working on moving from a mobile home to a larger apartment. I was packing boxes/totes and moving things around. During my lifting of one of the totes I got an extreme pain in my groin on the same day I was scheduled to look at the apartment. It was a debilitating pain and it left me unable to walk for a couple hours. Being somewhat a fool I decided to wait out the pain because I thought it may have been a pulled muscle. The pain was intense enough that I crawled to bed, and tried my best to find a comfortable position. I was unable to achieve any comfort laying but eventually the pain subsided enough that I could get around, albeit with some degree of pain depending on how much I moved. I simply brushed it off thinking I may have pulled a groin muscle and went to go check out the new apartment (nice place, moved into it) That was that until about mid-March. A dull ache started to appear around the middle of the month in my left testicle, only slight discomfort at first, but it grew increasingly stronger so I became concerned, I did a web search and found a website explaining the testicular self exam (cancer check). I palpated the left testicle but aside from discomfort, I found nothing wrong. Then I moved onto the right testicle and found a distinct solid mass on the bottom half of the testicle, the testicle was nearly completely numb and was hard like a rubber bouncing ball. At this time I was going through a financial bad spot at that time tho so I couldn\"t afford to goto the doctor and get it checked at that time. (The mobile home I moved from had to be disposed of since nobody was going to take it, which was costing me about 500$/mo in lot rent/utilities and my vehicle crapped out requiring me to take out a loan for a new one. I ended up paying a guy 1000$ to come dispose of the home which left me in a rather deep financial hole) so it wasn\"t until mid July that I was able to see a doctor. By then, the pain in the left testicle had continued to get worst, I was taking 2 aspirin and 4 aleve every day just to get by. The doctor palpated the testicles and came back with a similar result that I found and sent me off to get an ultrasound done the next day. The ultrasound came and went and I didn\"t hear anything about it until almost 2 weeks later when my doctor\"s office called me and told me they identified 4 masses in the testicles and referred me to a urologist which the nearest appointment was near the end of July. The urologist palpated the testicles and reviewed the ultrasound then broke the news to me that in 95% of testicular masses, cancer is present and he advised that I undergo surgical biopsy. Now given my mother\"s history with cancer, and all the problems she encountered BECAUSE of a biopsy (caused cells to spread when the biopsy was performed) I was leery of having the procedure done. So I informed the urologist that I would need to think about it and I would get back with him. From there I started researching the hell out of testicular cancer and the biopsy method proposed. I was relieved to find out that testicular cancer has a high cure rate, but I was a little offset at the treatment should cancer be found (testicle removal). The research I did on the biopsy (Frozen section biopsy) lead me to a report of a guy that HAD testicular cancer, but because the area in a biopsy is so small, there\"s about a 4% chance of error and in this guy the cancer was missed during his biopsy, resulting in them putting the testicle back in and the cancer spreading further requiring additional surgeries etc. I had a vacation a few days after the urologist visit, an 1100 mile trip to visit my mother who I hadn\"t seen in 4 years, and had no intention of canceling come hell or high water. I had a lot of time to think about it during the drive to visit my mother and eventually made the decision that I didn\"t trust the biopsy enough to go through with it, having reviewed my options, I decided to have the urologist remove the testicles and go on testosterone therapy. Around 800-900 miles into my trip, I was in some podunk town in the middle of GA when my car picked up a flat(Small piece of metal in the shoulder of the tire right where the tire flexes so it couldn\"t be repaired). While I was waiting for the tire to be replaced I gave the urologist a call and informed him of my decision. I scheduled the surgery for early September mid-work week (that way I could split the lost time over 2 pay periods somewhat softening the financial hit since I had no vacation time left) He wasn\"t happy that I was delaying the surgery that far, but had little choice in the matter so he told me his office would mail me the paperwork for the surgery. My vacation went very well, I informed my mother of the situation and my decision just to clear the air about it. We spent some good time together and I really didn\"t want to leave, but since I had the surgery pending I had to. :/ Fast forward to the day of the surgery, I was a complete nervous wreck, it was not only my first surgery, but I would be losing both testicles as well. I reviewed the paperwork they had me sign and it listed the biopsy as the procedure, I told them I did not want the biopsy done, and the urologist asked me if I was absolutely sure of the decision I was making. I told him about my research and results of that one biopsy, and that I didn\"t want to take the chance of EVER having to go through this again. He said ok, signed off on some paperwork and went to prepare. The nurses came in to take my vitals etc, my blood pressure was up to 160/120 I was so strung out, so they gave me a \"Happy shot\" whatever that was, it supposedly calms you down and makes you feel happy, it also has a side effect of amnesia, the last thing I remember was wheeling out of the small holding room to go to the OR feeling like I was drunk (everything was kinda wavy). The surgery went well with no complications, I woke up about 2 hours after the surgery, feeling nauseous and fighting to stay awake through the anesthesia. I remember reaching down and feeling my empty sac and kinda telling myself something like \"this nightmare is over..\" I had a followup with the urologist 4 days later where he inspected the 2 inguinal incisions made during the surgery (the inguinal method was done since cutting the scrotum triggers a drainage into the lymphatic system and that could cause the spread of cancer) Everything looked OK save for a piece of the stitch sticking out (which took 4 weeks to dissolve and finally fall away during a shower. He said the pathology revealed a bunch of fibrous scar tissue but no cancer was detected in the full pathology. I was VERY relieved to hear that. During the visit he prescribed me Testosterone Cypionate 200mg 1cc every 2 weeks. I\"ve been on that dosage ever since, it\"s ok, but lately, I\"ve come to notice a few issues with it. The first being that since it\"s intramuscular the muscle aches for 2-3 days after the shot, after the ache, then the testosterone seems to kick in, last about a week, then fade away, leaving me a few days before the next shot, so I get like 1 good week and 1 bad week. I have another appointment with the Urologist in a few days, I\"m thinking of switching to one of the gel testosterones since I\"ve heard that the daily rub on offers a more stable delivery as opposed to the ups and downs of the needle. But I\"m not sure if my insurance will cover it. I need to get more info from the Urologist on that matter. As for the official diagnosis, I can go back now on my health insurance website and it lists the root cause of the problem as \"785.4: GANGRENE death and decay of body tissue, often occurring in a limb, caused by insufficient blood supply and usually following injury or disease.\" So I kinda think that it may be related to the \"groin pull\" I had back in January leading me to believe that the pull may have actually been testicular torsion that caused the whole problem. Overall things aren\"t bad, save for the ups and downs of the testosterone therapy everything is normal. The only thing that\"s really different is I can\"t have kids, but it\"s not like gay guys have kids anyway :)\n\nSorry if I got a little long winded, it\"s kinda hard to explain it :D","description_bbcode_parsed":"<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>New pic from [iconname]Isil[/iconname] (thank you so much for doing this) of Dali going through a radical bi-lateral orchiectomy.
