Once back in town Dakka got enough time to think of all that had happened. Yet one thing was still resting on his shoulder. For the exchange of getting help and staying in the party he did agree to work at Rokuke’s place for a day or two… The few days he spent having to deal with the mundane stuff like getting his gear repaired and handing in quests really cooled him off on the whole idea. Still, he was a woof of his word, or so he wanted himself to be… a man was not supposed to go back on his word after all, and he believed himself to be a man… or well, aspired to be one at least… So eventually he did find his way to the tailhouse the barbarian invited him to work at.
Finding it wasn’t hard, he knew the owner’s scent very intimately by now… but finding the courage to go in there was more of an issue. Eventually after spending a good hour spinning in circles with his resolve, he saw a familiar face. Goric, the bard pup that would play his lute at the local inn and the pawdventuring guild. A small exchange between them made it clear that the other pup was indeed working in the tailhouse part time, as a taiilraiser. Unlike Dakka he didn’t seem hesitant at all, if anything he was pulling the woof with him into the establishment.
The familiar face was enough to help him step over the hurdle and finally let himself be dragged in. Goric quickly gave a wave and went off to one of the reception desks where the workers just nodded him in. Dakka realized that he must be a regular here… but now it was his turn, so he too followed toward reception desk to explain his intents…
To the woof’s surprise he found out that he didn’t really have to work as a tailraiser there. They sure made it clear that he would be perfect for the job, but that they could also use him as a cup pup, to just walk around and serve drinks, food and be of general help to the patrons. This unexpected option made him much more eager to “sign” (press his inked paw on) the paper that he couldn’t read after which he was shown where he would work, some basic rules, where things were, how to offer patrons drinks, how to ask if they needed anything else and the dress code which was fairly simple to remember, as he was just to be naked.
It all made him fairly confident that he could do it, once work started though, he was noticeably less so. He was helpful alright, working his best to run around with a flagon of ale and top off anyone who was waving him their way. But… it all made him feel so strangely hot and confused. The sight, the scent, the sounds of it all. He wasn’t sure what to think of it, seeing them be so dominating and just… manly? There were women and other pups too, but his eyes always darted toward the patrons and their manhoods despite his shame and best efforts to look away. It didn’t help that quite a few of them noticed. It usually followed with whistling or just fondling before the cup pup could scoot off with an excuse that more patrons needed ale. Before long his small pricky showed exactly how he felt.
By the time he stumbled onto the otter who invited him his inner state was already a tangle of feelings he didn’t understand, yet when he saw Rokuke having his way with that bard pup he felt his body tingle. The moans of the fox sounded so familiar, not long ago it was him who was moaning very much the same… it all came flooding back to him and he had this strange thought that maybe he was glancing at everyone because he wished to be in place of those other pups...
Rokuke grinned. What was this strange and complicated mess of feelings that the little wolf felt was very simple and obvious to everyone else. A single look told the otter all he needed to know and he knew that the pup would earn him some coin before the night. All he needed to do was push him just a tiny bit more.
