"description": "Day 10\n\nSuccess! I have convinced one of the natives to take the camera on one of their dives and show me the swim into these caves. The Yoshi I convinced was very helpful, he didn't speak my language but he understood my request and offered to take the camera down while diving with his family. Sure enough, when he returned, I retrieved the photos and was amazed at what he snapped!\n\nOf all the photos he took of the sprawling cave interiors and flora dotting the rocky walls, one photo stood out to me in particular. It was a snap of a female Yoshi swimming with a child, the young boy pointing at the camera with a surprised, yet excited expression as the mother turned to look. I was amazed at how the young boy, who looked no older than seven was able to make the dive into these caves, even if he was riding his mother's back. It kind of put my skills at swimming to shame, as even if he wasn't swimming himself, this child was able to stay underwater much longer than I ever could.\n\nAnother shock was the sighting of a Birdo, which I think is the same one I spotted holding that Yoshi's hand on Day 4. Again, I was unaware that Birdos were native to Yoshi Island, but as I saw her later this evening, she definitely lived amongst the natives as one of their own, so I'm guessing that other species do live on this island, and I am intrigued to learn more.\n\nHowever, for as helpful as the native was for snapping these marvelous pictures, he did stop taking them when approaching this strange statue in the cave. I do not know why he did this, but I shall ask about it later if possible. If it is a sacred place past the statue, I shall not pry further, but curiosity is going to keep me awake all night.\n\n- Prof. Kolorado",
