"description": "6. CAMERA SETTINGS AND POST-EDITING\n\nWhile writing this, I realized that I forgot to take any sort of example renders for good camera settings, so I'm hoping that I can explain it well enough in text. Now there are a fair amount that I also feel are beneficial, but the main three that are best to focus on when starting out(in my opinion) are focalDistance, aperture, and toneMapScale.\nAlso, in order for these settings to work properly, you will need to create an animation set for your camera. To do this, simply click the + button to add a new element, and then select Create Animationn Set for Existing Element. Then, you should be able to select your camera as an option, which you should do. Once that's done, you now will be able to access your camera's controls the same way you'd access your character model's controls. If you need to change the camera's position after doing this, additionally, make sure that your camera is first selected in the Animation Set editor, and then proceed to move it as normal within the viewport.\n\nfocalDistance & aperture\nI've paired these two together as they both work in tandem to create the same effect. You can use these settings to add a camera blur, specifically to blur out your background. focalDistance controls the distance(where your blur gradually starts), and aperture controls how blurry it is. I won't go over how exactly to use these as it's a bit complex to write out, however you likely will be able to easily look on YouTube how to use these settings properly.\n\ntoneMapScale\nRemember when we talked about lighting? Well, this is a light setting, but this setting actually controls the lighting of the entire map! Be careful when you use this, however, as it not only will darken the map but will also cause your added light sources to appear darker as well. make sure to adjust accordingly, or adjust this setting first before adding your lights.\n\n--------------------------------------------\n\nOK, now let's discuss post-editing. This is something that I like to do after creating my render to add some finishing touches to the picture, and add/fix some minor things that SFM can't quite do. I encourage you to play around on your own with your preferred image editor, and try various enhancements & effects to see what you like best. Also, feel free to try my trick of painting over model tears; It isn't perfect, but it can at least help.\n\nAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND that's about all I have to write. Hopefully these help you out, whether you're new or experienced. Have fun!",
