"writing": " Racing their way through alleys choked with litter and trash a light brown otter kit followed by a younger black and yellow fox pushed passed chain link fences as they dashed for the safety of numbers. Peering up at crumbling roof tops and down shadowy side walks the run away boys watched their backs for any pursers trailing them. Seeing nether cop nor foe Rokuke pulled the hanging metal door above a freight dock up holding it to let Austin scamper under first. With a final glance the preteen otter roiled underneath and shoved the door down slapping the bolt lock on the hing to secure it before turning to find the others.\n\n Padding up the stairs to the old employee break room the pair of out of breath cubs slumped into the roiling chairs as a dirty blond german shepherd pup entered looking concerned.\n\n “You guys o.k.?” Kyle asked as he filled a couple of red solo cups with water handing them over, “Where's Juan? What happened?”\n\n “We got jumped at the store,” Rokuke gasped out as he caught his breath grimacing at the memory, “Juan tackled Cain in front of a cop car and they both got hit. They got taken to the hospital, we got to get there before Foxie does!”\n\n “Are you sure Foxie went after Juan and didn't follow you here?” Kyle asked the eleven year old canine looking out the window nervously, “Who else was with Foxie?”\n\n “Jared and Derek,” Austin breathed after downing his cup looking over at Kevin apologetically as the white bunny entered with Andy in tow.\n\n As the rest of the run away cubs entered the room taking seats to start the war conference Jason looked over the group noting the fear and anticipation that radiated from his rescuers. Kevin took over the questioning appearing more concerned for the safety of the missing wolf pup while Andy paced around looking more and more frustrated talons popping in and out of his paws. Gin the youngest looked around nervously wanting to help but Kyle kept hushing him as the rest came up with a plan.\n\n “We can't assume Foxie didn't send Jared and Derek after you Rokuke,” The white bunny said to the light brown otter, “We better relocate in case you've been followed.”\n\n “What about Juan?” The otter asked miserably, “I won't leave him to be dissected by some under grad at the hospital. I caught which one they're taking him too, I'm going after him.”\n\n “You won't go allow,” Andy said as Rokuke balled his paws into fists. “You, Austin, and me will head over to the hospital to retrieve him.”\n\n “While your at that the rest of us will break camp here and head over to old car factory,” Kevin said setting the rest of the group their own mission, “And we'll leave a surprise here for Foxie if he shows.”\n\n The cubs started to break up heading to their resting spots to gather their meager personal affects stuffing clothes, food, and toys into back packs and duffel bags. Watching at a distance Jason felt as if he was in the way not having any thing particular useful to offer at the moment. Noticing Kyle staring out the window as if in a trance the little hybrid kit approached to voice an offer of assistance.\n\n “Is there anything I can do to help?” The small white arctic fox raccoon hybrid asked.\n\n Jumping a bit at the interruption the german shepherd turned around to smile at the latest addition to the group. Motioning him closer Kyle looked around shrugging as Gin trotted passed with an arm full of shorts and underwear.\n\n “Not sure kido, its a real mess at the moment,” The dirty blond canine said glancing around at the others, “You think you can control your power, use it on demand?”\n\n “I think so,” The kit said nervously recalling the strange sensation of watching Foxie standing still in the basement motionless and helpless as he pulled Andy out of the laboratory, “Will it help?”\n\n “Well if Andy's really going to infiltrate the hospital without everybody finding out about us, you'd be the best bet. If you got full control why don't you go with him?”\n\n “O.k. I'll ask him.” Jason nodded turning around looking for the sandy colored ferret that had freed him from the company.\n\n Turning back to the window Kyle glanced outside peering at the adjacent warehouse roof narrowing his eyes. Across the gap between building shadows appeared to shift and move disappearing every time the canine focused on their origin. Closing the shades the run away pup headed down stairs sniffing the wind as the other cubs finished they're own preparations nodding to Andy as Jason joined his group. Watching protectively from the second floor Kevin and Gin waved good bye as their friends made their way down the alleyway towards the hospital turning to their own assignment once they were safely away.\n\n Walking around the abandoned building Kevin lead Gin about pointing to metal cat walks, assembly belts, over head flood lights, and anything else important to the structural stability of the warehouse stopping at each one. Staring at the metal frame work of the machinery in front of him the little gray wolf pup with white marking concentrated hard as his tongue of flame came to life. Green light consolidated under trusses, steel anchors, lead bolts of rafter beams becoming fussed with each piece glowing lightly as they passed by. Marching along the upper floor Kyle kept a look out the hairs on his back raised and ears pinned back as the tension built slowly to a boiling point.\n\n Down below marching up to the office entrance illuminated in the soft yellow glow of the last working street lamp a gray muscular dragoon fox hybrid approached the warehouse. Alone and unarmed in any way Foxie glanced up smiling at Kyle as the germen shepherd growled baring his teeth. Bolting to the edge of the stairs the pup barked out a warning to Kevin and Gin just as the dim twilight out side started to turn back to bright orange light with a rushing roar.\n\n Blowing back into the building upon hot billowing flames the metal doors flow over the rabbit and wolf's head as Kevin tackled Gin to the ground. Whimpering in the arms of the soot covered bunny the puppy clung to Kevin as the imposing doctor strode into the warehouse brushing off debris from his shoulder. Pounding down the stairs Kyle activated his own flame above his head reaching out with his paws to extinguish the raging fire as the rabbit and wolf scrambled away from the entrance. Shoving Gin into the german shepherd's arms Kevin turned towards Foxie anger burning in his blue eyes.\n\n “Take him and run,” The white bunny yelled as he extended his arms tongue of flame erupting over head, “I'll hold him off! Gin you know what to do once your clear!”\n\n “But what about you!” The little wolf cub whined reaching over Kyle's back as the canine took off with his charge, “No! We can't leave him!”\n\n “Hush pup!” The german shepherd barked bolting for the emergency exit slamming through the doors, “You have your part to play as he has his own! Don't mess it up!”\n\n Approaching the glaring bunny at a nonchalant pace Foxie stopped shaking his head sadly as the younger cubs escaped out the back. In front of the dragon Kevin's fur rustled as whips of howling wind surrounded the cub lifting him three feet off the ground and sending papers and loose tools flying. Covering his eyes with one paw the doctor ducked as a roiling chair whipped by him.\n\n “You know that's not going to be enough Kevin,” Foxie said in a stern tone, “Come quietly, I promise I won't let Dr. Andrews near you again. You know I don't like to hurt you cubs.”\n\n “If your conscious is so conflicted you'd be helping us,” The rabbit hissed floating higher above the doctor, “You're all the same, we're just tools and toys for you.”\n\n “That's not true Kevin,” Crouching the dragon eyed the large paneled sky lights, glass panes still held in one piece, “I really am trying to help you, even if you hate me I know this is better for you.”\n\n “Shove it!” Kevin barked lifting his arms to the fragile panes of glass before dragging them down his flame burning brighter as the winds howled and rush out of the sky.\n\n Shattering into a thousand jagged shards the glass crashed down picked up by the burst of air and hurtled at tremendous velocity at the invading dragon. Opening his jaw wide Foxie inhaled as his power channeled through his body erupting out in a gout of white hot flames from his maw. Sailing into the fireball the flying glass exploded like shrapnel bursting out in all directions covering the floor in sparkling dust. Hiding in his vortex of wind Kevin reflexively covered his eyes as the dust blew past him deflected by the air currents keeping him aloft.\n\n As he was recovering from the countered attack Kevin opened his eyes in time to stare at the plastic wheels of a office chair hurtling into his face knocking him out of the air to tumble to the ground unceremoniously. Curling into a ball the little white rabbit gasped in pain as he heard the heavy foot steps of the doctor approaching. Glancing up as the dragon raised a fallen beam of metal over his head the bunny called forth the wind sending him roiling away as the improvised weapon slammed into the ground he had been occupying. Dragging himself up by the rails of the stairs Kevin whimpered as Foxie closed in on him resting the metal bar on his shoulder.\n\n “The easy way or the hard way Kevin,” The doctor said lifting the bar high over the injured cub, “Your choice kido.”\n\n Hugging his ribs as he looked up at the dragon the little rabbit noticed the small balls of green lights Gin left behind turn red and start to glow brighter. Chuckling the white bunny covered in black soot and trickling blood from his maw summoned one last burst of air.\n\n “I'll take none of the above...” Kevin smiled wobbling a bit as Foxie looked disappointingly down at him.\n\n High above in the rafters the red lights expanded and exploded blowing away the structural supports they were attached to before the final blow could fall. Glancing up as tin panels and re-bar started to rain down the dragon turned on his heels dashing for the front door and escape. Reaching out with his power one more time the white bunny shot off at a wild trajectory as a pile of rubble slammed down into the space he left behind. Falling through a window Kevin landed in a dumpster curling up as he watched the build collapsed and imploded in on itself raining dust and metal into the alleys surrounding it leaving no trace of Foxie.\n\n***\n\n Stumbling as the street rumbled under their feet Kyle watched as Gin's tongue of flame winked out and the billowing debris of the abandoned warehouse filled the sky. Opening his eyes once the thunder clap had passed the little wolf pup looked up at the german shepherd nervously.\n\n “There, I brought it down,” The cub said ears swiveling as he strained to pick up any sound of Kevin running towards them, “Can we go back for him now?”\n\n “No,” The older canine said taking a hold of the pup's paw and heading down the maze of back streets and alleyways, “The plan is to meet Kevin and the others at the new hide out. You remember where it is right?”\n\n “Yeah,” Gin said as he followed still looking back now and then, “The old car factory by the river. Rokuke showed me the way, I remember.”\n\n “Good,” Kyle said as he lead on keeping an eye on the roof tops over head, “It important to remember, just in case we get separated.”\n\n The pair of canines moved on quietly staying in the shadows and avoiding the open roads of the main streets. Slinking along Gin kept a tight grip on Kyle's paw as his imagination started to run wild creating phantoms out of the shadows that reached out for him. Yipping softly the little pup screwed up his eyes opening them slowly to dispel the ghosts.\n\n “You think Jared and Derek are out there too?” Gin asked recalling the older cubs and their own scary powers. “Is it true Jared can control others with his mind?”\n\n “No, he can only plant suggestions,” Kyle reassured the pup, “You still have to want to follow through your self, he can't control anyone directly. And if they are out there you should be quiet and not draw attention to us.”\n\n Gin placed a paw over his muzzle to keep quiet as he ran trying to think quiet too just in case Jared was around the corner. Sneaking into a poorly light parking garage Kyle lead the younger canine between the cars heading for the stair well. Peering over the hood of a mini van the german shepherd spotted a short figure with a long thick tail brushing the ground waiting in the door way. Holding a finger to his lips Kyle knelt down leaning in close to Gin to whisper the plan.\n\n “I want you to move down the row of cars and create a weapon with your light,” Kyle said as he crouched next to Gin pointing out which way to go, “Once he starts to follow you I'll jump him from behind. Then we can tag team him.”\n\n “O.k.” Gin said softly looking around the vehicle to get his bearing, “I can do that.”\n\n “On three,” The german shepherd whispered closing his eyes to concentrate, “One, two, three!”\n\n Bolting out from behind the mini van Gin took off running summoning a bright red beam of light that smacked into a window as he dashed by. Launching off of his two strong hind legs Derek shot after the little wolf pup. As Gin ran farther down the row of cars he looked back as the kangaroo passed Kyle's hiding space expecting the trap to spring. Glancing back with a emotionless stare the german shepherd stood up backing away into the shadows and disappearing from sight.\n\n “Kyle you blew it!” Gin cried skidding to a halt to turn on the approaching kangaroo and swinging his red light stick into Derek's belly. “Come back!”\n\n Grunting from the blow the sturdy kangaroo rocked back on his thick tail balling his fists together as he glared down at the little wolf cub. Launching forward with his tongue of flame burning brightly Derek punched through the up held energy stick pushing through with his enhanced strength to land a sicking crack to the top of Gin's head. Stumbling to the floor the little cub flopped on his side twitching as he looked up with fading eyes as a teenaged silver fox walked up to him knelling down to check his wounds. Falling unconscious as Jared stroked his cheek Gin could only dream of freedom as he was now captured by the company.\n\n Dodging away from the scene Kyle ran along a sky walk breaking through a locked door to run up to the roof top. Hooping over the small spaces between buildings the german shepherd ran along looking and sniffing for any followers or others down below. The young canine kept a sharp look out for Foxie turning back towards demolished warehouse intent on meeting up with the victor of that fight. Coming to a halt on the top of a old canning factory across from the pile of ruble Kyle was surprised to watch Kevin making his way down the alleyways heading for the old car factory.\n\n Frowning in disgust as he watched the broken bloody body of the dragon drag himself clear of the ruins the german shepherd turned around racing along after the fleeing rabbit. Hooping from building to building the canine soon over came his compatriot skidding to a stop as he hatched a new course of action. Running hard towards the edge of the building Kyle leaped off the roof screaming at the top of his lungs aiming for a full dumpster on the far side of the alley. Landing in a heap of twisted limbs and broken joints the canine watched as his vision faded as Kevin ran towards him, desperately digging him free before Foixe could find them. \n\n",

assignment once they were safely away.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Walking around the abandoned building Kevin lead Gin about pointing to metal cat walks, assembly belts, over head flood lights, and anything else important to the structural stability of the warehouse stopping at each one.&nbsp;&nbsp;Staring at the metal frame work of the machinery in front of him the little gray wolf pup with white marking concentrated hard as his tongue of flame came to life.&nbsp;&nbsp;Green light consolidated under trusses, steel anchors, lead bolts of rafter beams becoming fussed with each piece glowing lightly as they passed by.&nbsp;&nbsp;Marching along the upper floor Kyle kept a look out the hairs on his back raised and ears pinned back as the tension built slowly to a boiling point.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Down below marching up to the office entrance illuminated in the soft yellow glow of the last working street lamp a gray muscular dragoon fox hybrid approached the warehouse.&nbsp;&nbsp;Alone and unarmed in any way Foxie glanced up smiling at Kyle as the germen shepherd growled baring his teeth.&nbsp;&nbsp;Bolting to the edge of the stairs back into the building upon hot billowing flames the metal doors flow over the rabbit and wolf&#039;s head as Kevin tackled Gin to the ground.&nbsp;&nbsp;Whimpering in the arms of the soot covered anger burning in his blue eyes.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Take him and run,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp; The white bunny yelled as he extended his arms tongue of flame erupting over pup!&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp; The german shepherd barked bolting for the emergency exit slamming through the doors, &ldquo; You have your part to play as he has his own!&nbsp;&nbsp;Don&#039;t mess it up!&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Approaching the glaring bunny at a nonchalant pace Foxie stopped shaking his head sadly as the younger cubs escaped out the back.&nbsp;&nbsp; In front of the dragon Kevin&#039;s fur rustled as whips of howling wind surrounded the cub lifting him three feet off the ground and sending papers and loose tools flying.&nbsp;&nbsp;Covering his eyes with one paw the doctor ducked as a roiling chair whipped by him.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;You know that&#039;s not going to be enough Kevin,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;Foxie said in a stern tone, &ldquo;Come quietly, I promise I won&#039;t let Dr. Andrews near you again.&nbsp;&nbsp; You know I don&#039;t like to hurt you cubs.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;If your conscious is so conflicted you&#039;d be helping us,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp; The rabbit hissed floating higher above the doctor, &ldquo;You&#039;re all the same, we&#039;re just tools and toys for you.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;That&#039;s not true Kevin,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;Crouching the dragon eyed the large paneled sky lights, glass panes still held in one piece, &ldquo;I really am trying to help you, even if you hate me I know this is better for you.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Shove it!&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;Kevin barked lifting his arms to the fragile panes of glass before dragging them down his flame burning brighter as the winds howled and rush out of the sky.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Shattering into a thousand jagged shards the glass crashed down picked up by the burst of air and hurtled at tremendous velocity at the invading dragon.&nbsp;&nbsp;Opening his jaw wide Foxie inhaled as his&nbsp;&nbsp;power channeled through his body erupting out in a gout of white hot flames from his maw.&nbsp;&nbsp;Sailing into the fireball the flying glass exploded like shrapnel bursting out in all directions covering the floor in&nbsp;&nbsp;sparkling dust.&nbsp;&nbsp;Hiding in his vortex of wind Kevin reflexively covered his eyes as the dust blew past him deflected by the air currents keeping him aloft.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; As he was recovering from the countered attack Kevin opened his eyes in time to stare at the plastic wheels of a office chair hurtling into his face knocking him out of the air to tumble to the ground unceremoniously.&nbsp;&nbsp;Curling into a ball the little white rabbit gasped in pain as he heard the heavy foot steps of the doctor approaching.&nbsp;&nbsp;Glancing up as the dragon raised a fallen beam of metal over his head the bunny called forth the wind sending him roiling away as the improvised weapon slammed into the ground he had been occupying.&nbsp;&nbsp;Dragging himself up by the rails of the stairs Kevin whimpered as Foxie closed in on him resting the metal bar on his shoulder.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;The easy way or the hard way Kevin,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp; The doctor said lifting the bar high over the injured cub, &ldquo;Your choice kido.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Hugging his ribs as he looked up at the dragon the little rabbit noticed the small balls of green lights Gin left behind turn red and start to glow brighter.&nbsp;&nbsp;Chuckling the white bunny covered in black soot and trickling blood from his maw summoned one last burst of air.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I&#039;ll take none of the above...&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;Kevin smiled wobbling a bit as Foxie looked disappointingly down at him.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;High above in the rafters the red lights expanded and exploded blowing away the structural supports they were attached to before the final blow could fall.&nbsp;&nbsp;Glancing up as tin panels and re-bar started to rain down the dragon turned on his heels dashing for the front door and escape.&nbsp;&nbsp;Reaching out with his power one more time the white bunny shot off at a wild trajectory as a pile of rubble slammed down into the space he left behind.&nbsp;&nbsp;Falling through a window Kevin landed in a dumpster curling up as he watched the build collapsed and imploded in on itself raining dust and metal into the alleys surrounding it leaving no trace of Foxie.<br /><br /><div class='align_center'>***</div><br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Stumbling as the street rumbled under their feet Kyle watched as Gin&#039;s tongue of flame winked out and the billowing debris of the abandoned warehouse filled the sky.&nbsp;&nbsp;Opening his eyes once the thunder clap had passed the little wolf pup looked up at the german shepherd nervously.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;There, I brought it down,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp; The cub said ears swiveling as he strained to pick up any sound of Kevin running towards them, &ldquo; Can we go back for him now?&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;No,&rdquo; The older canine said taking a hold of the pup&#039;s paw and heading down the maze of back streets and alleyways, &ldquo; The plan is to meet Kevin and the others at the new hide out.&nbsp;&nbsp; You remember where it is right?&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &ldquo;Yeah,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;Gin said as he followed still looking back now and then, &ldquo; The old car factory by the river.&nbsp;&nbsp; Rokuke showed me the way, I remember.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Good,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;Kyle said as he lead on keeping an eye on the roof tops over head, &ldquo; It important to remember, just in case we get separated.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The pair of canines moved on quietly staying in the shadows and avoiding the open roads of the main streets.&nbsp;&nbsp;Slinking along Gin kept a tight grip on Kyle&#039;s paw as his imagination started to run wild creating phantoms out of the shadows that reached out for him.&nbsp;&nbsp;Yipping softly the little pup screwed up his eyes opening them slowly to dispel the ghosts.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;You think Jared and Derek are out there too?&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;Gin asked recalling the older cubs and their own scary powers.&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo; Is it true Jared can control others with his mind?&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;No, he can only plant suggestions,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;Kyle reassured the pup, &ldquo; You still have to want to follow through your self, he can&#039;t control anyone directly.&nbsp;&nbsp; And if they are out there you should be quiet and not draw attention to us.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Gin placed a paw over his muzzle to keep quiet as he ran trying to think quiet too just in case Jared was around the corner.&nbsp;&nbsp;Sneaking into a poorly light parking garage Kyle lead the younger canine between the cars heading for the stair well.&nbsp;&nbsp;Peering over the hood of a mini van the german shepherd spotted a short figure with a long thick tail brushing the ground waiting in the door way.&nbsp;&nbsp;Holding a finger to his lips Kyle knelt down leaning in close to Gin to whisper the plan.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I want you to move down the row of cars and create a weapon with your light,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;Kyle said as he crouched next to Gin pointing out which way to go, &ldquo;Once he starts to follow you I&#039;ll jump him from behind.&nbsp;&nbsp; Then we can tag team him.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;O.k.&rdquo; Gin said softly looking around the vehicle to get his bearing, &ldquo;I can do that.&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;On three,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp; The german shepherd whispered closing his eyes to concentrate, &ldquo; One, two, three!&rdquo;<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Bolting out from behind the mini van Gin took off running
