Previously on Galarian Days... Zander confesses his status as the Wolfen Knight of Galar to Sophia, who seems overwhelmed by the information, but doesn't let it get to her too much. As compensation, Zander offers her a seat in the stands as he challenges the Hammerlocke Stadium, ultimately facing and defeating Lady Cona. Said Gym Leader then gives Zander the Steel Badge, the last badge needed to challenge Wyndon Stadium... - After getting his Pokemon healed back up, Zander saw Sophia enter the Pokemon Center and approach him. "So, how does it feel to have finally completed the Gym Challenge, Zander?" "Well, Sophia," he answered, "at first, I didn't think I would get to pull off facing eight Gym Leaders after clearing eight Gym Missions and earning a medallion made of eight Gym Badges, but I have to say, it's really nice." "Good to hear!" Sophia said. "So, what do you want to do first: have some coffees with me at my employee discount to celebrate, or head out into the Wild Area to train for the Champion Cup tomorrow?" "I'd say... train for the cup. If that mocha I bought at Wyndon is any indicator, training would be interrupted halfway if I got the coffee first, if you understand my meaning." "Okay then, Wild Area first, then drinks on me!" Now that they had a plan laid out, Zander and Sophia exited the Center and made their way to the dragon's maw to leave Hammerlocke... but once they dismounted the stairs, they were witness to a crazy phenomenon: a blizzard and a sandstorm were happening at the same time, resulting in a frost storm! Not only that, but Zander suddenly felt weak and defenseless, causing him to scramble for anything he could find to make his weapons. "Come on... need weapons... where's something long and something flat... when you need one?" Sophia, however, was quick to react. She reached into her satchel and pulled out a paper plate and plastic spoon to give to Zander. He reached up to grab them, but the frost was whipping up pretty thick, so it was difficult to see. After some groping around, though, his paws found the items, and in flashes of light, Sophia found herself behind Zander with his force field around them both. "What is going on here!?" Sophia said, overwhelmed with everything happening. "Remember those Dynamiasmas I told you about back at Spikemuth?" Zander said, now that his strength was back while the force field was up. "Some of them have the power to change the enviroment around themselves, and some of them can affect everyone else negatively. And all of them can spell trouble if they're not dealt with quickly, so we need to find them, fight them, and finish them off!" "But how are we going to find them if we can't see them in all this frost?" "Maybe you can't, but my sharper senses can try!" Zander said as he looked around and listened for any monsters around the area. Suddenly, amongst the wind whipping the frost around, he heard an icy, shrill scream echoing towads the Giant's Mirror and saw a giant ball of ice summoning large hailstones that made the snow thicker! Then he heard a craggy, low roar from the Lake of Outrage and saw a golem of rectangular, stone blocks that summoned pillars of stone that made the winds blow harder with dust! "Alright, time to crush some rocks, and then some ice!" Zander said. "Hold on tight!" Sophia wrapped her arms and legs around Zander as he slung his free arm around her, then the both of them were shot towards the golem and barreled through it, causing it to roar in agony until it exploded in a cloud of tan dust! Then he landed his foot on one of the circled rocks and shot off to the iceball, where he ran right through it and made it shriek in pain until IT exploded in a cloud of ice-blue dust! With the frost storm finally subsiding, Zander and Sophia could see everything more clearly, but his weapons were still present, and when Zander lowered the force field, the weakness came back! "Are you okay, Zander?" Sophia asked as she let go. "Did taking down those Dyna-whatevers take too much out of you?" "No..." Zander said, then raised the force field back up. "There must still be some stragglers around here somewhere. Let's keep looking." Zander sauntered forward through Stony Wilderness and Bridge Field, with Sophia following close behind. Eventually the two friends crossed the bridge at the Motostoke Riverbank and saw two more Dynamiasmas: a giant black panther with a pair of black eyes hovering over it that blasted tentacles of black energy, and a royal-blue dragon with amethyst wings it used to create giant tornados! "You think you'll be ok hanging back here for a while?" Zander asked Sophia. "I think so," Sophia said, unsure if she could handle another ride like the one she got. "Good, because I want to try something, and I'll need both paws for it," Zander said before darting towards Lake Axewell first. "Nothing personal!" He kept his shield up with one arm while holding his sword out to the side with the other paw, and the sword elongated as he reached the dragon and swung, slashing it multiple times and ramming it with the force field for good measure before landing on Axew's Eye. The dragon roared in pain until it expoded in a cloud of royal blue dust! With the dragon destroyed, Zander could lower the force field again without feeling weak as before, but still weak. Knowing just what to do, he raised the shield again and shot towards the panther at Lake Miloch, using the same attack he used to take down the dragon. The panther then yowled in agony until it exploded in a cloud of black dust! Now that all the Dynamiasmas were destroyed, Zander let his weapons disappear in flashes of light, then remembered he left Sophia behind. He then left Lake Miloch and went back to the riverbank to meet up with her again. "Are there still more of those things around, or did taking down four of them wear you down?" Sophia asked sarcastically as she saw Zander panting. "Let's answer your question... with another question," Zander answered. "Is that employee discount coffee offer still on the table? Because I'd like to take you up on that." - A brisk walk to the Battle Cafe in Motostoke later. - As Zander and Sophia both sipped their mochas, (both small, as per Sophia's suggestion) Zander asked Sophia, "So, did you get to see the rest of my battle in action, or were you sidetracked again?" "Saw the whole thing," Sophia answered, "but as someone with a second perspective, I have to ask, where do you think those clouds of dust go after you destroy those monsters?" "Ah, I don't worry too much about those," Zander said. "If they are going somewhere, I figure they'd just dissipate away before they get there..." - Meanwhile, back at Rose Tower, Elle and Turner were back on the topmost floor, with Elle sitting at her desk. Suddenly, there was a "ding," and Turner extracted his phone from his pocket. "Ah, miss Elle," he said, "I've just recieved a notification that the Dynamiasmas you recently created have just been destroyed, and their remnants are on the way." "Fabulous, Turner," Elle said. "That means my grand master plan is coming closer and closer to fruition, and the Darkest Day will never return..." "I understand your contempt about the Darkest Day, miss Elle," Turner said, "but if I may be so bold as to ask, couldn't there be a way to stop it without the Dynamiasmas?" "Turner," Elle said with a sigh, "must I keep re-explaining my plan every so often?" She then took out her tablet from her desk drawer and showed Turner a slideshow as she said, "The Galar particle extraction with my Dyress Up Key, the using the particles to summon the Dynamiasmas with the Dyna Perfume, the Dynamiasmas causing havoc until that wolf-boy comes to deal with them, so that any witness will understand that anything connected to the Darkest Day is no good. This was all explained in the memo I sent to your phone the other day." "Ah, of course, miss Elle," Turner said. "You didn't lose the memo, did you, Turner?" "No, miss Elle, I simply had it filed away in my personal folder to be printed, and I plan to do so by the end of the day." "Interesting," Elle said, "but perhaps you might want to do that now, because here's what I want you to do afterwards: Prepare for the Champion's Cup!" "Right away, miss Elle," Turner said as he walked to the center of the room, but as soon as the elevator was lowered and closed, Elle suddenly got a text from Turner saying, "After this, miss Elle, would you care to join me for a 100 Poke soda?" Elle simply texted back, "Alright, fine. A quick soda to drink, but first, get that memo printed, then prepare for the Champion's Cup!" "Yes, miss Elle," was the reply. - Closed captioning sponsored in part by... (Commercial: Macro Cosmos Tech) Introducing the latest innovation from Macro Cosmos Tech: the Rotom Phone Simple!
