He took his travels to the quaint mixing pot known as Tarry Town and soon found that there was quite the concern among the locals. While no one had been harmed, there had been sightings to the east and north of a Silver Lynel who seemed interested in the town for some unknown reason. It never came to the sole bridge, but worry still bubbled among the villagers as the threat of such a beast, while mitigated after Ganon had seemingly been defeated, was still something that could spell the end of the quaint little town. Hunter decided to investigate these claims.
Over the course of five days, Hunter first kept watch from the town before adventuring to the east, making an arching pathway north, before retracing his steps and returning to the town. The entire while, he never saw this Lynel. There were only one or two old hoofprints, but nothing fresh. Hunter concluded that the Lynel must have left the area not long after the sightings.
Hunter then decided to head West as he had been patrolling the eastern coastline for some time. Catering to his adventurous spirit, he vaulted himself and his equipment off the western ridge of Tarry Town into the water, swimming through the lake until he arrived on the slightly wooded shore of the Torin Wetland. He dressed down and had set his clothing to dry, save for his bandana.
It was only after he'd been in the woods in the nude for a while that he noticed that the forest was unusually quiet. This silence and lack of birds often meant something dangerous was present, something a normal person didn't cause to happen. Now on pins and needles, Hunter took the opportunity to look around the area he was in, but only just looked around a tree and small shrub to see the large body of the Silver Lynel right before him. A deeper shock was that she was looking directly at him.
Hunter's body had the momentary lock up of freezing in place at that powerful glance, but soon he could see that the expression was not threatening but more... annoyed? As if he was merely being too loud. Once he thought that, he realized that she had to have been here since before he came ashore and was just behind these bushes the entire time he was undressing and musing to himself. If she wanted him dead, he would have been before he knew he made a mistake.
Her gaze eventually left him, letting Hunter unclench and breathe before his curiosity lead to him observing her. Her casually flicking tail revealed to him that this Lynel was female, while a further observation showed to him a rather peculiar scar where her upright torso met her lower torso, as if someone had managed to climb onto her and hack away at her. This lead him to notice that her weapons were not on her person, but a glint of sunlight revealed they were tucked by one of the trees. However, what interested Hunter the most was how this Lynel was gingerly touching a flower. An Armoranth, specifically. It was growing near a couple other flowers, and upon observing closer, several flowers were crushed and broken. Upon watching the Lynel for a while longer, he found it was not intentional as the Lynel seemed to grasp the other flowers in a gentle manner, but her size cause them to crumble at her touch, all except the incredibly durable Armoranth. She could bend it, squeeze it, and investigate it and it would not yield or break. As he watched her, she would touch it, prod a finger into the soil near the base, then lean over and sniff it before leaning back, holding a somewhat puzzled expression.
Hunter could have sworn the pattern of movements looked familiar, and after the Lynel performed it a second time, he realized it was the same pattern the Tarry Town florist did to her stock of decorative flowers. Only, this Lynel could only do so on the sole flower that could withstand her touch and seemed to be interested in this delicate hobby, but did not know how to pursue it.
Hunter now knew that she was emulating aspects of the Tarry Town life, but restricted herself to the outskirts so as to not start a fight. He also thanked his lucky stars that he didn't have his spear in hand, since it was likely she would have seen him as a threat.
He continued to observe her and pondered his options; keep looking from the bushes, flee, or... perhaps he should try to make contact with her?
