She was aiming to take her soul, but because of a bad chemical experiment, which caused a malfunction, or alter the functional role of her chromosomes, converting her cellular structures to plasmic peaks, leading to deterioration of mass, she won't feel any solid object. The chromosomal structures have converted her to a ghost, but her trace of force is not all extinguished, for they themselves can reconvert her to solid flesh and fur, depending on the condition of her parasympathetic nervous system. In other words, she has to think positive no matter what. As she takes in all her emotions and assemble them together to a reaction of ultimate motivation, she will receive a polar reaction.
