anything that comes his way. Upon coming back from his break, his team ask him if he’s all right after noticing his sudden shift in mood. His initial replies are “I’m okay,” but doesn’t hold up with the others for long. Around breaktime, the group decides to spend their lunch at a restaurant near Pawbucks. There, after being asked again, and again, Zach is forced to relay the events that have transpired within the week. As he explains, the members on his team turn to surprise, then worry and concern. \nRalph is first to speak after Zach. “Aw, I’m so sorry that happened to you, Zachy. You going to be all right?”\nZach nods. “Yeah… I’ll be fine. It’s not like she’s been a huge part of my life. That woman abandoned me when I was born.”\n“Yeah, sounded like a horrible woman,” Winnie adds. “She got what she deserved.”\n“Still,” Emma butts in. “Such a shame that she never really compensated you for everything you’ve been through. She owed you a lot.”\nZach rolls his eyes, awkwardly. “Funny you say that… The locket she gave me was high in value…”\n“And, what did you do with it?” asks Rachael. “Did you sell it?”\n“Yeah, I did… It wasn’t too damaged when I threw it on the ground, but I wish I knew that before.”\nKenny is next to talk. “So? How much did the little thing fetch? Bet you it was incredibly expensive. Does this make you rich now?”\n“I… rather not get into it. Besides, it’s private information.”\n“Whatever happened to your half-sister and her father anyway?” asks Winnie. “They go back home to that community?”\n“Pretty much… Though, Mabel said she’d love to see me again. I’m not going to hold my breath, however.”\n“Hey, Zach!” calls out a familiar voice. The gang pinpoint the source to be Jack, walking across the street and joining the gang with a cup of coffee in his grasp. “How’s it going, my boy?”\nZach quickly raises his paw and lowers it, gesturing a quick wave. “Hey, Jack. I’m okay. After everything I’ve been through, I couldn’t be any better.”\n“Hey…” The jackalope takes the vacant seat beside him and puts his paw on the fox’s shoulder. “I never told anyone this, especially to my daughter, but I’m proud of you. You’ve come a long way and you’ve made great progress.”\nZach tilts his head down. “Thanks, Jack… That means a lot to me. I wish I heard that from my mother… or even my father… if I had ones. I wish I had a family like that…”\n“You do have a family; Melissa, Echo, Firework, Cotton, Amina, and I are your family. And don’t think for one second that none of us will be there to help you, because we will. Every step of the way.” Melissa appears before them. “Ah, speak of the devil.” Igor appears, also, swooping in and landing on the table to make an entrance. “Speak of two devils.”\nZach looks to grey rabbit. “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be working?”\n“I’m on my lunch break,” Melissa tells him. “Saw you out here, and I thought I’d join you, and the crew.” The fox forms a small smile. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he quickly pivots to see the red fox with her girlfriend, along with the robot and dragon. “Echo, Firework, what are you two doing out of school?”\nFirework giggles and dances around. “Half day! Half day!” \n“Apparently, we had a half day, today,” says Echo. “I had not been informed we would be getting out early. Once I had contacted Amina, she and Nerelia picked us up and decided to bring us to Pawbucks. That is when we spotted you from afar.”\n“How are you feeling, Zach?” Amina asks. \n“Doing a bit better, actually.” The orange fox replies. “Hanging out at lunch time with my team.”\n“He recovered quite quickly,” comments Nerelia to Amina. “Was not expecting him to turn around.”\n“Yeah,” Igor agrees. “I thought you’d be overly depressed still.
