Outside in the gathering of the floor, he looks to Jack. “Hey, Jack!” The jackalope, sitting on one of the benches by the elevator and stairwell, looks up at him. “You missed the ‘best’ part of the letter!” \n“I did?” asks Jack.\n“My dead mother doesn’t want me to come to her funeral.” He occupies the spot beside the suited animal. “Her folks don’t know she had me with David and ditched me.
