There, she sees a relaxed Igor on the couch, watching television with the purple fluffball. “Didn’t know you were here.”\nThe imp looks to the rabbit. “Was I supposed to inform you I’d be here?”\n“Would’ve been nice to let one of us know.”\n“Already told your fox of a boyfriend I was crashing. He ordered me not to make any trouble while he goes to the headquarters with your other friends.”\n“He went to work? I thought he told Leon he was taking the week off.”\n“Yeah, well, it’s not my business to know about that, Toots. What is my business is to tell you he cleaned out the closet of junk with the red fox and the kids before he took them with him.”\n“Hold on… He cleaned out the whole closet?”\n“You got stuff in those big ears of yours? Course, he did! He cleared everything out of it.”\n“He cleared the whole closet? By any chance did he throw away a little, brown box?”\n“I don’t know… Maybe?” \nMelissa hurries to the closet and searches around. She takes one step back with raised arms, widened eyes, and an opened mouth. “Oh crap!” She gets out her cellphone and frantically searches for his number, then dials him. “Come on, Zach… Pick up!” There is no answer. She continues again, and again.\n“Jeez, what’s the deal with you? You’re getting all panicky for a box of junk.”\n“Um… that box was not junk… That was something very important to me…” The rabbit then heads off into the kitchen. “Zach, pick up the phone!”\n\n*** \n\nLater, Zach, Amina, Echo, and Firework make their way up to the apartment. Once inside, they are greeted by the imp, who is seated on top of the chair. \n“Hold it right there!” Igor holds his hand out and shows the palm to them. “This is the ugly patrol. I need to see some forms of I.D., now!” \n“Very funny, Igor,” Amina comments, unamused. Echo and Firework, same feelings as the red fox, walk past without a word to him, and go to the living room. Amina meets up with them. Cotton greets them with squeaks of joy. \nIgor then faces Zach, who follows behind with a paper bag in his paw. “Yo, Fox Boy. Your woman is looking for you. I think you’re in big trouble.” He snickers.\nZach stares at him with wide eyes and a mouth in the shape of a small ‘o.’ “What…?”\n“You heard me. Better answer to her. Seems like she’s waiting to give you hell.”\nThe fox’s face changes to displeasure. “All right, stop joking, Igor.”\n“Jokes? Who said anything about a joke?”\n“That’s it.” Zach chases the imp, who flies through the kitchen and by the dining area, but is stopped by the rabbit, who is seated in a chair. “Oh, hey, Baby.” \nMelissa looks at him with arms and legs crossed. “So, you cleaned out the closet and got rid of everything?”\n“Uh, yeah. Purged everything, and now we have space.”\n“Threw away the broken clock?” Zach replies with a “yes.” “Tossed out the scratched-up carpet?” Zach nods and gives the same answer. “My precious, one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable mementos from my mother who passed away when I was little?”\nZach grits his teeth with a fearful look. “Who wants burgers from Cheeseburger Castle?” Amina, the kids, and Cotton peer at him.\nMelissa stands to her feet. “Oh, well, I’d love one, if it was filled with my precious, one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable mementos.”\n“Uh… They’re cheeseburgers with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles.”\n“Wherever you threw them out, go get them, now!”\n“I can’t… I took it to the dump…” Zach sets the bag down with Melissa remaining where she is. “By now, it’s probably buried under other people’s mementos…”\nThe rabbit faces the fox quickly. “Zach, how could you throw it out?!” The kids and Amina look to see what’s going on. Igor views from the table with Cotton, lying while watching with a smile.\n“Look, what was a box doing in the closet with all the other junk?” \n“Not everything in that closet’s junk! I told you twenty times how I love all the things in that box! You never listen to me!” \n“Well, if you told me twenty times, you should know I’m not that good of a listener and have a lot of things going on… Maybe the blame isn’t mine entirely…”\n“How can you be so heartless?! Doesn’t anything have sentimental value to you?!” \n“Sentimental value? You’re talking to an orphan fox with nothing! Melissa, it was a box with burnt wood and plastic… That’s just stuff!” Cotton scoots closer to Igor, nearly hiding behind him. Echo and Firework move closely to Amina.\nMelissa pushes past him, angered. “Zach, I have told you this before! My mother worked her whole life as a toymaker before she got sick! Weak, she made a doll house for me and had it stored away until my birthday.” She turns back to him and steps up to him. “The doll house destroyed in a fire at the toy store, and all I had were those distorted wood figures and melted plastic furniture!”\nZach sighs and tilts his head. “I’m sorry… Maybe if the box had a picture of a doll house on fire, then maybe we wouldn’t be having this problem…” \n“Maybe all of that stuff didn’t get tossed out,” says Echo. \n“Yeah…” Zach takes notice of something. “Wait, what’s that under the table?” He bends down and picks it up, holding it in his paw. “It’s one of the pieces from the box! See? It didn’t all get lost.” His grasp clamps down on the wooden piece, crushing the weakened wood to sawdust, sprinkling all over the floor. “Uh… Oops…”\nMelissa’s eyebrows are deeper into her eyes than before. “I hate you!” The phone starts to ring in between her words. “This is the worst thing you’ve ever done! It’s like you killed my mother all over again!”\n“I’m going to get that.” says Amina. “No one say anything bad.” She heads over to answer the phone. \n“Come on,” Igor spurts. “Keep going, you two! This is good!” Both turn to him and order him to shut up before facing each other again.\n“Look, I’m sorry, Melissa!” Zach pleads. “I have a lot on my mind! I’m giving my kidney in a couple of days and I wasn’t thinking! I’m sorry!” Melissa growls at him. The kids hold their arms up to their mouths, unsure of what to expect. Cotton looks away and Igor’s smile grows bigger. Both sides are unsure of what will unfold next.\nThat is, when Amina lowers the phone from her head. “Um…”\n“Not now, Amina!” Melissa snaps, not looking at the other fox. “Stay out of this!”\n“Delilah just died…” Melissa’s face changes to shock in a second before she quickly turns to the red fox. The robot and dragon’s faces show the same as the rabbit’s. \nZach freezes as he looks at Amina. “W-what…?”\n“Zach…” Amina approaches the fox in the blue bandana and hands him the phone. “Your mother is dead…” Zach slowly takes the phone from her paw and puts it up to his ear. Everyone has all eyes on him now. What was once a heated yell-fest has now become dead silent. \n","writing_bbcode_parsed":"<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>Melissa opens the door and enters the apartment.
