patients to come to the hospital. Doctors, nurses, and medical assistants are overwhelmed, struggling to keep the blast victims breathing and kicking. In one room, the robot and dragon lie in two beds, unconscious still. Bandages wrap around their heads, torsos, and some limbs. Zach awaits anxiously beside Echo’s bed, watching for any sign of moment from either of the two. Melissa and Amina stand by the wall, concerned much like the orange fox. Cotton’s ears are drooped and a frown occupies his face, staring at his playmates while in the clutches of the red fox. The news on the room’s television continues its broadcast of the alleged attack on the Furton Park, and has deemed it a domestic terrorist attack. Melissa turns off the news, as to not further upset everyone. All is now quiet except for the beeping rhythm of the heart monitors and the calls from outside the room. \nThe gang turn to the door upon hearing footsteps enter and see the lion before them. “Zach…”\nZach looks up at him. “Leon… I…”\nLeon shows him the palm of his paw to stop him. “Save your breath. It isn’t your fault… You were only doing what you had to do. I just came to check and see how you and your family’s doing.”\n“The doctors said Echo and Firework will be okay… I… I don’t know how I’m doing, though… Guess I’m still shaken up about all of it. Any news on the playground bomber?” \n“If I get something, I’ll update you. However, I think I’ll leave you and your family to have time alone.” The lion turns and leaves the room. The next guest enters the room, catching the girls off guard.\n“Emma?” Melissa spurts. The warthog greets them and waves. “What are you doing here?”\n“I came to see how you guys were,” explains Emma. “I’m sorry to hear about your kids… Are they okay?”\n“They’re doing fine,” Zach tells her. “And don’t be sorry. It’s not your fault.”\n“Still, I just wish I could’ve done something.”\n“There’s no need… There’s nothing you could’ve done. You couldn’t have known about the attack before it happened.”\n“Sadly, no… But, I want to help… Any way I can… Which is why I have information regarding the attack.”\nZach puts his paw on her head and gives her a pat. “I appreciate your willingness… However, you shouldn’t ge-” He freezes when looking beyond the warthog to see a familiar figure stand in the doorway. Everyone traces his gaze and notices, too. Zach stands to meet the height of the chicken. “What do you want?! Haven’t you caused enough trouble already?!”\n“Easy, Fox,” Winnie tells him.\n“Easy?! My children are lying in bed, badly hurt, and you want me to go easy?!”\n“I’m not here to pick a fight with you, if that’s what you think. I just thought you’d want to know something…”\n“If you’re going to insult Zach again, then you’re not so lucky being here,” says Melissa. “I’m going to whoop that chicken butt of yours so hard, you won’t be sitting for weeks!”\n“Will you just listen to me?” Winnie continues. “Firstly, I want to apologize for everything I’ve done to you… It was wrong of me, and I should’ve known better…”\n“Why didn’t you?” Zach wonders. “What did I ever do to you?”\n“It’s not your fault...”\n“What is this all about?” questions Amina.\n“I know who was behind the bombing… Are you familiar with my brother? The rooster you saw back at the restaurant? He was the one who detonated the trigger after he told me to place it.”\n“What?!” The orange fox, having hearing this and become enraged, sprints toward Winnie and pushes the chicken up against the wall across, holding her against the surface while arming a fist near her. “You almost killed my children! What the hell were you thinking?!” Melissa and Amina watch on, along with Cotton.\n“I didn’t mean to!” cries the chicken, paralyzed with fear. “Rodney gave me the bag, but he didn’t tell me what was in it! When I asked what he was planning, he didn’t answer me! Told me to just follow instructions and place it by the playground! I didn’t know innocent children would get hurt! I’m sorry!”\n“My kids are lying in those hospital beds, unconscious and hurt, like all the rest of every other parent’s kids, and all you have to say for yourself is ‘sorry?!’”\nWinnie continues to look into the fox’s eyes. “What do you want?! You want to punch me? Knock me out? Kill me? Will any of that make you feel better?!”\n“Yes, it would!” Zach pulls back his fist. Winnie closes her eyes and looks away, expecting it to connect with her face. After a few seconds, she opens her eyes and glares back at the fox, wondering why blunt force hasn’t stuck her. Zach has stepped away, having released her. “But, I’m not going to! Because it’s not going to heal Echo and Firework, and it’s certainly not going to make me any better. All my life, I received prejudice and hatred because I was different. I’ve learned it’s never good to judge a book by its cover. Yet, you have… What makes you think I can forgive you? Especially now that I’ve learned you were behind the attack with your brother.”\n“I didn’t have a say in everything… When Mom died, Rodney was all I had… I looked up to him, and he always had my back… I felt obliged to do what he wanted… But when a couple of predators bullied me, he snapped… Developed prejudice views on those of the same race. I soon followed suit, or else he would stop caring for me…”\n“So, you were forced to obey him?” Melissa asks. \nWinnie nods. “And now, he’s gone too far… I want you to stop him, Zach the Fox.”\nZach turns to his friends, who remain there, staring. He then faces the chicken. “Where is he?” \n“I don’t know… He doesn’t tell me anything about where he goes or what he does… I have no clue where he is now.”\n“I do,” the warthog spurts. Everyone faces her. “After the bombing, I noticed a couple of guys up to no good. One of them being a brown rooster in a leather jacket and sunglasses.” \n“That’s Rodney,” Winnie adds.\nEmma continues. “I tailed him and his buddies to some abandoned club called ‘Gentlemen’s Gallery.’ Couple of goons were guarding the place like a fort.”\n“Thank you, Emma.” Zach then faces Winnie. “You’re spared for now, but I’m not done with you yet.” \n“I understand,” the chicken says. “Do what you must to stop him, Zach.”\n“I want to help!” Emma adds. “I don’t care what you say, I’m going to help! I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve.”\nZach sighs in defeat, unable to persuade them out of it. “Fine… Suppose we could use help to catch the terrorist. But, please try not to get hurt or in the way…” He faces the chicken. “That goes to you, too. Understand?” The two women nod. Pulling out his radio, the fox dials in. “Hello? Ralph, you there?” The rabbit answers on the receiving end. “Get to my hospital room with Kenny, Rachael, and Leon. We’ve got information to share.” As he holsters his communication device, a couple of groans sound from the room, causing his ears to twitch. The fox turns and notices the robot and dragon’s eyes opening slowly. \nMelissa stands in front of their beds with Amina beside her. “Echo? Firework? Are you two okay?” \n“Uh…” Echo grunts. “M-my circuits… I feel battered…”\nThe dragon holds his head. “Firework feel pain everywhere…”\nZach stands into their view. “Oh, I’m so glad you two are okay… Melissa, Amina, and I were scared… We thought we lost you…”\n“Can Firework have ice cream…?” \nZach smiles. “We’ll see… But first, I have to take care of something. And make sure you guys, and every other kid, can sleep safely.”\n","writing_bbcode_parsed":"<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>Several hours have passed, yet the hospital&rsquo;s bustling with patrons, rushing from room-to-room, supervising the care of the latest patients to come to the hospital.
