I know people might get uncomfortable but it is what it is.","writing":"Zach sits in the meeting room with his partner, Ralph. Both are wearing their task force attire of goggles and utility belts. Many other task force members are seated in the rows of chairs facing the front where the stage and projector reside. The two get involved in a hushed conversation. First, it’s how they both are doing, then about Igor at Ralph’s house, finally, about Zach’s family.\n“Say,” Ralph utters. “How do you feel about the firearms training?”\n“Uncomfortable,” responds Zach. “I mean, holding and shooting a gun is interesting, but I’m not a fan of the sound and the responsibility. I really hope I don’t have to shoot and kills someone…”\n“I’m with you… Leon said it was necessary, though. Let’s just hope we won’t have to get to the point of shooting and killing someone. I don’t want to be like that wolf who shot that sheep.”\n“Oh yeah, heard about that. You don’t think people will view us as awful, like how they view the police, right?”\n“Let’s hope not…”\nLeon enters the room and takes the stage. “Good morning, everyone! I am pleased to see you’ve all made it and are looking well.” He looks to the fox and rabbit. “Ah, yes! Firstly, I’d like to congratulate our top rookies, Zach the Fox and Ralph the Rabbit for their courage and dedication in protecting the city.” The other animals applaud for them. “Now, let us get down to business.” He begins with his presentation. Images of Furton display on screen, showing the situations occurring now. “We’ve been seeing an increase in violence over the past few days. Tensions around the city have rose ever since that wolf shot the sheep. Many are calling the act unjust and have decided to take matters into their own paws. I’m sure you are all aware of the recent emergence of the group, ‘Prey Lives Matter,’ right?” The room stays silent. “According to intel, the prey animals have formed the group after other events before. The recent events appear to be the final nail in the coffin. We also have reports of some predators have formed a group of their own, too. They are called ‘Predator Supremacy.’ It is clear we have a divide of species due to the poor handling of the case. Now, I am going to tell you all that we don’t view each other as prey or predator, but allies of a force the city relies on. Understood?” Everyone in the room concurs with him. “I don’t want to see this city divided. Be vigilant and stay on alert. Dismissed!” The members all ready themselves to leave. Just as Zach and Ralph get up and prepare to exit, the lion walks over to them. “Hold on, Fellas.” The fox and rabbit stop. “Can I speak with you both for a minute?”\n“Sure, Captain,” Zach says. “What’s up?”\n“Yeah, how’s it hanging?” asks Ralph.\n“How are the both of you?” Leon questions. “I noticed you two were nervous for the firearms training.”\n“At first, yes,” replies Zach. “But, I think Ralph and I are getting the hang of it.” Ralph concurs with him. “However, I don’t feel comfortable with using a gun.”\n“No one does,” Leon states. “Nonetheless, it’s a necessity of the job. You won’t have to resort to it unless it’s an extreme emergency, hopefully. Now, I’ve been meaning to talk to you, Zach. I have news about the investigation on Team Rescuers and Heroto.” Zach’s eyes widen. “The investigation team was met with riots, with Team Rescuers in front of the herd. Mayor Eagle is sending peacekeepers to maintain order and apprehend troublemakers. An arrest warrant has been issued against the supposed hero group, along with a couple of other persons of interest.”\n“Do you want us to go there and aid in the peacekeeping mission?” the fox queries. \n“Negative. The Furton Task Force’s job is to defend and maintain peace in the city alongside law enforcement and military. If ever there’s a need for military use of the task force, the commanding units of the armed forces will ask permission from Mayor Eagle, who will grant them that. I need you two for something else.”\n“What would that be, Sir?” Ralph jumps in.\n“We have new recruits who’ve completed training, and I want you both to train them. They will be assigned to you two as the start of your new team.”\nZach’s eyes light up in excitement. “Our very own hero team?!”\nLeon smiles. “I know you’ve had that dream for a while, Zach.”\nZach’s expression relaxes and is brought to misery. His ears droop, thinking back to his past with the animals he once thought as his friends. “Um… Yeah… I guess…”\n“Hey.” Leon puts his arm on the fox’s shoulder. “Don’t feel bad about all of that. The Furton Task Force doesn’t judge. If you need improvement, we will work on it. We’re not like those lousy animals who would deem you unworthy.”\nZach’s ears come back up and he regains his confidence. “Okay.”\n“Good! That’s the spirit!” Leon looks behind Zach to see two figures approach. Zach turns around to see them. They are a green raccoon and grey koala, both half the rabbit and fox’s height. The koala’s build shows as male, wearing yellow goggles and a utility belt. The raccoon, on the other hand, has a female structure and wears a purple vest with dark green goggles and utility belt, darker than Leon’s set. “Ah, here are the new recruits who’ll be fighting alongside you.
