"writing": "Night time falls upon the land as darkness covers every corner. Light from the settlement pushes back against the dark, showing the residents they are still awake for the hour. This restlessness can be seen mostly at the inn where our main characters are. Both of them sit at the counter, enjoying a nice meal and some drinks. Berc downs his seventh mug, placing the empty glass aside and asking the tender for another round.\n“Easy on those drinks, will you?” Haya tells him. “Those are not cheap, you know. If you get drunk, I swear…”\n“Hey, quit worrying,” he responds. “I’ll be all right.” \n“Whatever. I won’t care too much if you get hammered. That’ll be on you, not me.” The rabbit directs her awareness to her side, sensing a presence invading her privacy. Sitting right beside her is a green lizard, dressed in maroon tunics. The reptile’s build reveals a thin male with feather-like, seaweed-color hair and horns like Berc’s out of his head. “What do you want?” \n“You’re quite the character,” says the lizard. “I like you.”\n“Sorry, Scales, I’m not your type. You should stick to women who live by water.”\n“How very stereotypical of the Ronin Rabbit,” he responds. “And yet, still the tough warrior she is. Many look up to you, like myself.”\n“Yeah, so what? I’m just a rabbit looking for work and make coin. I travel here and there looking for it.”\n“Well, your attitude is perfect for my request.” The lizard forms a smug on his face. “What do you say we hit up a couple of drinks and occupy a room to ourselves? The coin will be pretty for you.”\n“Excuse me?”\n“I’m offering you some nice currency in exchange for your services.”\n“What kind of rabbit do you take me for?”\n“It’s quite obvious, considering your species tends to breed a lot.” The rabbit grips at her mug. Her anger flows through her body quickly, traveling throughout her arteries. “If you’re suggesting I break your horns off and use them to blind you, keep talking. See what happens because once I’m done, you’re about to lose that ability.”\n“Such a sweet talker. Can you save it for the bedroom?” Having enough of his chatter, Haya takes her mug and thrusts it toward him, chucking the contents of her drink all over the lizard’s tunics. He gets to his feet and stands. “What is wrong with you?!”\n“Consider yourself lucky. Harass me longer, and it won’t be just alcohol all over you.” \n“You’re so cold…” The lizard vacates the area, putting distance between himself and the rabbit.\n“And for good reason,” Haya adds. “What a jerk…”\nA tiger, male in build and in a white kimono, comes over. “There an issue here?”\nHaya faces him. “What is it?”\n“I run this place, and I’ll have you know it’s against policy to assault my customers. Any more problems, and I will have to call authorities and have you removed.” He turns and leaves them.\nHaya turns away. “Can you believe the nerve of some men, Berc?” The rabbit pauses, noticing the kobold has several empty mugs around his area. “Berc…?” The kobold is already too busy downing another glass of alcohol. \nHe stops when the rabbit glances at him. “Huh…? What was that?” \n“Men can be disgusting, and take advantage of you, am I right…?\n“Uh, sure… Does that include me…?”\nHaya, crossing her arms in displeasure, decides to smile and let it go, playing along, sarcastically, yet smooth-talks him. “Why, no. Of course not, my kobold friend. You are in a class of your own.”\nBerc smiles upon hearing what assumes is a compliment. “Oh, sweet. I appreciate the nice gesture.” He downs another glass of malt.\nHaya spots the lizard from before by the archway to the tavern’s kitchen. His head shakes from side-to-side, ensuring no one spots him as he enters through the curtains. “I’ll be right back, Berc. Don’t go anywhere, now.” The pink bunny pursues the scaly creature, undetected, following suit as he makes his way into the basement. Staying in the darkness at the top of the steps, she takes notice of a group of other figures around the table where the lizard approaches. Their uniforms are dark in color, suggesting they are part of an organization. “Black Lotus,” whispers Haya, recognizing the outfits.\n“The Ronin Rabbit is very stubborn, just as her personality suggests,” says the lizard. “I couldn’t get her to come with me… Getting her drunk’s not an option either…”\n“We’re not paying you to complain,” one soldier tells him. “You will get that rabbit to us by any means necessary.”\n“I’m trying… It’s not easy…”\n“Catching the Ronin Rabbit is never easy,” utters another. “However, if this task is too difficult for you, perhaps we should find another to do our bidding.”\n“I can do this,” the lizard responds. “Just give me some time.”\n“The clan doesn’t like it when you waste their time.”\n“I will get you the bunny. I will not fail you.”\nHaya sneaks away as quick as she can. When she’s just about halfway through the kitchen, the red kobold springs up in front of her with a “Hiya Haya!” The ronin gasps upon his appearance. “Berc! What are you doing?! I told you to wait out in the dining hall for me!”\nHe giggles and hiccups, swaying around. A smile stuck on his face. “I went loo- hic, for you…” His speech becomes slurred and reaction slower than normal.\nHaya lets out a sigh. “You were drinking a lot, weren’t you…?”\n“What…? No… I drank… minimal…”\n“Berc, what did I tell you about getting plastered?”\n“Chill out, Babe… It’s all good…” He nearly loses his balance, but is caught by Haya. “See…? What d- hic. What I te- hic, you…? All good…” \n“Yeah… okay… If you say so…”\n“Hey!” A large, pot-bellied pig in chef’s uniform approaches the two companions. “What are you two doing back here?! Customers aren’t allowed in the kitchen!”\n“We were just leaving,” Haya tells them, dragging her partner out. “Come on, let’s go, Berc.” She heads back into the dining area with Berc and props him in the stool. Haya then notices the scattered, empty glasses from the kobold’s spot. “I guess minimal means fifteen mugs of malt… Listen, we’ve got a big problem…”\n“Yeah, you d- hic,” Berc responds. “Your problem is… you- hic, so strict…”\n“I’m going to pretend that I never heard that,” Haya tells him. “But no, it’s not that. You know that lizard scum that hit on me?”\n“Oooh, Haya got admirer…”\n“Shut up… It’s not like that… That lizard is actually-”\n“Actually what?” interrupts a male voice. The rabbit turns around quickly to see the reptile before her. “There something you want to discuss?”\nThe bunny stares at him a little longer before responding. “No… Nothing at all.” \nThe lizard steps in front of her, preventing any other movements. “Oh, but I’m sure something must be bothering you. Is it me? Look, I want to apologize for my behavior. I understand I’m the one you least wish to speak with, especially after our first ‘date,’ but hear me out.”\nHaya keeps a stern look on her face, but then smiles slightly as an idea pops into her mind. “Why, of course.” She follows the scaly animal into a private room near the stage area. The rabbit keeps her back to him as he closes the door, staying in the center of the room. “Now, there anything you wish to say, my Scaly friend?”\n“I was wrong about you,” the lizard starts. “Perhaps it was harsh of me to take it way too far with you. Maybe it would be best if we just sat down and had a little chat instead? You know, keep things personal.”\n“Personal, you say? Trying to take advantage of me, now? Why should I trust you?”\n“Please, Ronin Rabbit. I’m absolutely desperate for you.”\nHaya’s paw rests on her katana handle. “Then, you should’ve thought of that before making a deal with the demon!” Quickly pulling it out and arming herself, she turns to strike at him with speed, but he dodges just in time. Haya hoists the blade and points it to him. “You’re no fan of mine! You’re but a mercenary trying to make coin off my bounty!” She attacks again, yet the reptile moves faster than her. “Stop trying to run! Fight me, Coward!” Another hit-and-miss causes her katana to wedge itself into the wall and jam itself. Haya pulls to try and free it; however, she’s picked up and pinned to the wall by the scaly creature. \n“There is no escape now, Ronin Rabbit,” says the lizard. He takes out his dagger and places the blade against the rabbit’s neck. “I will be a rich man once I’m done with you.” Just as he’s about to make his move, he’s interrupted when the door swings open and slams into the wall. \nBerc appears within the doorway with a lute in his clutches, strumming away while singing randomly and out of tune. Both warriors stare at him as he performs his little number. He stops and looks at the two. “Oh… I’m sowwy… Didn’t know y- hic, two were… having a moment…” \n“Stay out of this, Kobold boy!” shouts Haya’s captor. “Or else it’s curtains for your partner!” \n“Oh? Haya in a play…? I haven’t start- hic, my encore yet…” The kobold strums away on the lute loudly and sings erratically. Haya’s facial expression relaxes, embarrassed at his actions.\n“Quit your bad singing, now!”\n“Oooh, Scales not… happy. Must si- hic, better.” Berc continues to play and be annoying to him.\n“I’ve had enough of this!” The lizard releases Haya to the floor and sets his sights on Berc. Haya warns her companion to look out for Scales. The reptile swings his blade at the kobold, who dodges all of his attacks, and even blocks some with his lute. Berc still plays on, continuing to drive the bounty hunter mad and carry out more strikes on him, to which he dodges. Berc steps back one last time, placing his back against the wall of the room. “Nowhere to go now, Lute Boy! When I’m done skinning you alive, I will be rich with rabbit meat.”\n“Oooh, soun- hic, Delicious.”\n“Too bad you won’t be around for it!” Just as Scales is about to strike, he’s knocked on the head hard with the handle of a blade. He collapses and becomes out cold, showing Haya has landed on the floor, having jumped up to hit the lizard. Her katana is back in her possession.\nBerc forms a smile upon his face. “Haya! My… good buddy!” He nearly stumbles to the ground, but stabilizes his balance. “Did yo- hic, see me… up there? I think… I ha- hic, what it takes… To be a- hic, singer…”\n“You did good,” Haya comments, going along with it. “Impressive, actually.”\n“Aw, thankies!” Berc spots the dagger on the floor. He bends down and picks it up. “Oooh, shiny… Berc will keep…” He sheaths it and puts it away. \n“Come on,” the rabbit orders. “We better get out of here before the manager comes in. I imagine we’ll be kicked out.”\n“Lemme pway one la- hic, song.” Berc begins strumming at his lute. “Oh! Haya and I ar-” He falls to the floor, passing out and crashing from overconsumption of drinks.\nHaya lets out a sigh. “This is why you should never drink, Berc… Well, least you’re not singing and playing anymore…” She kneels down, swings the knocked-out kobold onto her back, then stands and starts for the door. “Damn, Berc… You need to lay off the chicken…” Her paws clutch at his legs, keeping his body leaning up against her back. “Good thing he’s out cold… He’ll never remember this…” Winding and weaving through the crowd, she finally makes it out the door. \nOutside the tavern, Haya struggles to maintain balance as she wanders away down the road, schlepping an unconscious Berc on her back, venturing off into the darkness, while grunting and panting. “Better find a nice lodge to settle for the night.”\n",

Haya then notices the scattered, empty glasses from the kobold&rsquo;s spot. &ldquo;I guess minimal means fifteen mugs of malt&hellip; Listen, we&rsquo;ve got a big problem&hellip;&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Yeah, you d- hic,&rdquo; Berc responds. &ldquo;Your problem is&hellip; you- hic, so strict&hellip;&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m going to pretend that I never heard that,&rdquo; Haya tells him. &ldquo; But no, it&rsquo;s not that. You know that lizard scum that hit on me?&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Oooh, Haya got admirer&hellip;&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Shut up&hellip; It&rsquo;s not like that&hellip; That lizard is actually-&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Actually what?&rdquo; interrupts a male voice. The rabbit turns around quickly to see the reptile before her. &ldquo; There something you want to discuss?&rdquo;<br />The bunny stares at him a little longer before responding. &ldquo; No&hellip; Nothing at all.&rdquo; <br />The lizard steps in front of her, preventing any other movements. &ldquo;Oh, but I&rsquo;m sure something must be bothering you. Is it me? Look, I want to apologize for my behavior. I understand I&rsquo;m the one you least wish to speak with, especially after our first &lsquo;date,&rsquo; but hear me out.&rdquo;<br />Haya keeps a stern look on her face, but then smiles slightly as an idea pops into her mind. &ldquo; Why, of course.&rdquo; She follows the scaly animal into a private room near the stage area. The rabbit keeps her back to him as he closes the door, staying in the center of the room. &ldquo; Now, there anything you wish to say, my Scaly friend?&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;I was wrong about you,&rdquo; the lizard starts. &ldquo;Perhaps it was harsh of me to take it way too far with you. Maybe it would be best if we just sat down and had a little chat instead? You know, keep things personal.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Personal, you say? Trying to take advantage of me, now? Why should I trust you?&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Please, Ronin Rabbit. I&rsquo;m absolutely desperate for you.&rdquo;<br />Haya&rsquo;s paw rests on her katana handle. &ldquo; Then, you should&rsquo;ve thought of that before making a deal with the demon!&rdquo; Quickly pulling it out and arming herself, she turns to strike at him with speed, but he dodges just in time. Haya hoists the blade and points it to him. &ldquo; You&rsquo;re no fan of mine! You&rsquo;re but a mercenary trying to make coin off my bounty!&rdquo; She attacks again, yet the reptile moves faster than her. &ldquo;Stop trying to run! Fight me, Coward!&rdquo; Another hit-and-miss causes her katana to wedge itself into the wall and jam itself. Haya pulls to try and free it; however, she&rsquo;s picked up and pinned to the wall by the scaly creature. <br />&ldquo;There is no escape now, Ronin Rabbit,&rdquo; says the lizard. He takes out his dagger and places the blade against the rabbit&rsquo;s neck. &ldquo;I will be a rich man once I&rsquo;m done with you.&rdquo; Just as he&rsquo;s about to make his move, he&rsquo;s interrupted when the door swings open and slams into the wall. <br />Berc appears within the doorway with a lute in his clutches, strumming away while singing randomly and out of tune. Both warriors stare at him as he performs his little number. He stops and looks at the two. &ldquo;Oh&hellip; I&rsquo;m sowwy&hellip; Didn&rsquo;t know y- hic, two were&hellip; having a moment&hellip;&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Stay out of this, Kobold boy!&rdquo; shouts Haya&rsquo;s captor. &ldquo;Or else it&rsquo;s curtains for your partner!&rdquo; <br />&ldquo;Oh? Haya in a play&hellip;? I haven&rsquo;t start- hic, my encore yet&hellip;&rdquo; The kobold strums away on the lute loudly and sings erratically. Haya&rsquo;s facial expression relaxes, embarrassed at his actions.<br />&ldquo;Quit your bad singing, now!&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Oooh, Scales not&hellip; happy. Must si- hic, better.&rdquo; Berc continues to play and be annoying to him.<br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ve had enough of this!&rdquo; The lizard releases Haya to the floor and sets his sights on Berc. &ldquo;Nowhere to go now, Lute Boy! When I&rsquo;m done skinning you alive, I will be rich with rabbit meat.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Oooh, soun- hic, Delicious.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Too bad you won&rsquo;t be around for it!&rdquo; Just as Scales is about to strike, he&rsquo;s knocked on the head hard with the handle of a blade. He collapses and becomes out cold, showing Haya has landed on the floor, having jumped up to hit the lizard. Her katana is back in her possession.<br />Berc forms a smile upon his face. &ldquo;Haya! My&hellip; good buddy!&rdquo; He nearly stumbles to the ground, but stabilizes his balance. &ldquo;Did yo- hic, see me&hellip; up there? I think&hellip; I ha- hic, what it takes&hellip; To be a- hic, singer&hellip;&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;You did good,&rdquo; Haya comments, going along with it. &ldquo;Impressive, actually.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Aw, thankies!&rdquo; Berc spots the dagger on the floor. He bends down and picks it up. &ldquo;Oooh, shiny&hellip; Berc will keep&hellip;&rdquo; He sheaths it and puts it away. <br />&ldquo;Come on,&rdquo; the rabbit orders. &ldquo; We better get out of here before the manager comes in. I imagine we&rsquo;ll be kicked out.&rdquo;<br />&ldquo;Lemme pway one la- hic, song.&rdquo; Berc begins strumming at his lute. &ldquo;Oh! Haya and I ar-&rdquo; He falls to the floor, passing out and crashing from overconsumption of drinks.<br />Haya lets out a sigh. &ldquo; This is why you should never drink, Berc&hellip; Well, least you&rsquo;re not singing and playing anymore&hellip;&rdquo; She kneels down, swings the knocked-out kobold onto her back, then stands and starts for the door. &ldquo;Damn, Berc&hellip; You need to lay off the chicken&hellip;&rdquo; Her paws clutch at his legs, keeping his body leaning up against her back. &ldquo;Good thing he&rsquo;s out cold&hellip; He&rsquo;ll never remember this&hellip;&rdquo; Winding and weaving through the crowd, she finally makes it out the door. <br />Outside the tavern, Haya struggles to maintain balance as she wanders away down the road, schlepping an unconscious Berc on her back, venturing off into the darkness, while grunting and panting. &ldquo;Better find a nice lodge to settle for the night.&rdquo;<br /></span>",
