Spectators amble along sidewalks and travel around using transportation. The red fox is out with her girlfriend at their favorite place, which reminds them of where they came from. The greenery dotted around the park gives the sense of the great outdoors with the fresh air filling the nostrils of the park-goers. \nAmina, sitting beside Nerelia on the park bench, has already updated her on the recent events that have happened up until this point; Zach’s first week of training, Melissa’s dad moving in, as well as new friends for the boys.\n“No way!” Nerelia spurts, smiling. “Echo and Firework have girlfriends now?!”\n“Well,” starts Amina. “I wouldn’t call them girlfriends, at least maybe not yet… But the boys have been talking about them nonstop, which gives the impression they’re infatuated with them.”\n“I think it’s pretty sweet. Just imagine something blossoming with them. Just like us, right?”\n“Of course.” Amina gives a smile. “Blossoming like the beautiful flowers in the park, and the forest as well…” \nAfter hearing her say that, Nerelia’s smile disappears. “The forest…”\n“What’s wrong, Baby?” Amina places her paw on Nerelia’s lap. “Something on your mind?”\n“Minny, do you ever feel like the past comes to haunt you? Like, you get these thoughts of what it was like before everything happened?”\n“Indeed, I do. They trouble me sometimes, yet I try not to let the past overtake my mind. Yes, I’ve had it rough, and I lost a lot, including those I’ve trusted, but all of that doesn’t matter to me anymore. My tribe may be gone, nonetheless I still have a family; Zach, Melissa, Echo, Firework, and our fluffball, Cotton.” Amina turns her head to the squirrel. “And also, I have you.” She smiles and blushes. “I would never think about how I could live my life differently than what I have now. Despite all I’ve experienced, I’ve got the perfect family, and the perfect lover.”\nNerelia reflects her companion’s expression with her cheeks the same color as hers. “Oh, Minny!” She wraps her arms around Amina, who just remains still and accepts the hug with a bigger smile. \nThe red fox’s smile disappears as she spots her orange fox friend across the way with the lion and rabbit. “Hey, it’s Zach.” \nNerelia lets go and looks where she’s glancing. “My! You’re right! What’s he doing here?”\n“Probably in training still. That must be Ralph, his new partner.” She watches as the white rabbit has his paw around the fox. \n“Hey, who’s the white bunny with Zach? Is he an old friend or something?”\n“That’s Zach’s new partner, Ralph the Rabbit,” Amina explains. “Zach told me he’s not very comfortable around him.”\n“How come?”\n“From what Zach tells me, he’s gay.”\n“So, what’s wrong with that?”\n“Nothing, but Zach doesn’t feel too good with Ralph touching him in weird ways and making comments about his ‘greatness’ and forth.”\n“Sounds like this rabbit has his eyes set on the fox and finds him attractive.”\n“Maybe so, but Zach doesn’t look like he feels the same way.” The red fox then spots the boys walking past the park. “Hey, it’s the boys!” Nerelia looks to where Amina means. “What are they doing out of school so early?”\n“Not sure. Whatever it is, it doesn’t seem good, especially with what happened with the ‘flying incident’ weeks ago.”\n“Better see what’s going on.” Amina heads toward the robot and dragon with Nerelia following. The two kids greet the red fox. Cotton, sticking out from Firework’s backpack, squeaks with delight. “Why are you boys out of school so early?” Amina crosses her arms, ready to hear the first excuse they have to say.\n“It was half day, Ms. Amina,” Firework explains. “Firework and Echo allowed leave early.”\n“Oh really?” says the red fox, seeming displeased with the answer.\n“It’s the truth,” Echo confirms. “It’s some sort of teacher’s day where they need time to catch up on administrative work.”\n“Do Zach and Melissa know about this?” They both nod and explain they got a letter from the boys’ teacher, Ms. Hooters. They then show another copy of the letter to Amina and Nerelia. Amina relaxes her expression and pose, and puts her arms down. “Oh… Well, that explains it… What are you two going to do now?”\n“Candy want hang out with Firework again,” the dragon says. “Want to talk with Firework.”\n“Yeah,” adds Echo. “Cat wants to meet up with me, too. We told them Firework and I would meet up with them at ‘Arctic Cones,’ an ice cream shop not too far from here. But first, we’re going to head home and prepare.”\n“Prepare?” Nerelia repeats. “Oh, are you two going out on a double date with them?” Her smile occupies most of her face. Firework pivots his head away. His paw scratches the back of his head as he blushes with embarrassment. Echo turns to surprise but with pink for a sort of “blush” effect. Both boys don’t say a word. “Aw, you two will be fine. You’ll have them in your arms without a doubt.” The two kids remain unchanged from their expressions.\nAmina clears her throat. “What Nerelia’s trying to say is, you two have fun with your new ‘friends,’ okay?” They both nod and walk away.\n“I’m so sorry, Amina,” Nerelia says. “Did I deter them?”\n“Not at all.
