Everyone gathers around the table in preparation for breakfast. Zach is the last to show, taking his seat with the others. Melissa and Amina lay the plates of food around the table; eggs, bacon, and pancakes with coffee, tea, orange juice, and premium oil for Echo. Then, the girls pull up chairs to sit with the boys. \n“Today’s the big day for you, Zach,” Amina begins. “First day of training on the Furton Task Force. Are you nervous?”\n“I…” Zach looks down at his shaky paws against the wooden surface, then back at Amina. “I feel a mix of fear, excitement, and nervous…” The red fox asks what he means. “It’s been a long time since I’ve got to be around heroes… I don’t know if I can do this…” \n“You’ll be fine, Zach,” Melissa tells him. “You proved to them and the entire city that you can handle tough situations and save others, like the incident that happened yesterday. They saw potential in you, and they’ve made a decision to add you to their team. I am confident you’ll be great.”\n“Y-you think so?”\n“We think so, too,” Echo says, green with a smile. “Melissa’s right; there’s no reason they wouldn’t accept you.”\n“Zach amazing!” adds Firework, mouthful of pancakes. “Zach do good!” Even Cotton squeaks for his owner.\nThe fox gives his friends a smile in return. “Thanks, guys. I should take my mind off of it for now, though. They turn a corner and enter the first door on the left. They enter a gym with machines and equipment for endurance and speed use. Equipment like weight benches, treadmills, punching bags, and many other gym furniture are present. “All right. Here, I’ll be training you on endurance, strength, and speed for the first part. This is to see where you’re at in terms of physical agility.” The door opens from behind with a creak, causing him to turn around.\nStanding in the doorway is a white rabbit with long ears and red eyes. His build suggests that he’s a male. He wears a red bandana around his neck, which mirror’s the fox. His accessories are the same as the fox’s. “Sorry I’m late, Sir Lionheart!” His voice leans toward being feminine than masculine. “I got held up with some paperwork from the administration in the government circle. They’re quite slow today…”\n“They always are,” Leon tells him. “It’s okay.” The lion faces the fox. “Oh, this is Ralph the Rabbit. He’s our other new recruit. He comes from Hopsdale. He’ll be working alongside you as your partner.” The rabbit wanders toward him.\n“Pleasure to meet you,” says Zach, forming a smile and holding out his paw. “I’m Zach. Zach the Fox.”\nRalph steps forward and wraps his arms around the fox, giving him a hug, catching Zach off guard. “I’ve heard so much about you! And must I say, you’re pretty cute. It will be an honor to work with you!” He pushes himself away lightly to face him. “So, Sweetie, shall we get started?” Zach keeps himself fixed on the rabbit. Ralph lets out a laugh. “I guess so.”\n“Okay, Boys,” Leon starts. The two face him. “Now Ralph, I was just telling Zach how we would be testing for physical endurance. With that, I will be-” His phone beeps. “Excuse me a minute.” He pulls it out and looks. “Oh dear…” Then, he looks to the two recruits. “Some urgent matters just came up for me. Why don’t you two go ahead and start working out a little? I will return in a few minutes.” The lion exits the room. \nRalph looks to the fox. “I’m so excited! We’ll have so much fun together!
