"writing": "Roll call commences in the early hours of Divine Pines. The campers all prep themselves for the day and meet at the center. Standing before the group of younglings is the headmaster, who, after taking a count of everyone that’s here, starts his speech for the day’s activities. “All right, Campers,” he begins. “I hope you all had a good night’s sleep and are well-rested, because today, we are going to be going on a long hike! Hiking is essential for camping due to the terrain and surroundings. However, we will not be going into the forest for a hike, but to the town of Divine Pines, which is not too far from our camp. Now, I will ask you all to find a buddy and partner up.” The kids pair themselves up with their selected partner. “Everybody good? All right, before we head off, remember to stay close with your buddy, stay close to the group, and stay close to me. It can be very dangerous along the way. Remember to also drink plenty of water. You must stay hydrated, even on hikes such as these. Now, let’s head off, shall we?” The buck leads the way, guiding the children along the road. He goes on to teach the little ones about the history of Divine Pines and the formation of the forest. \nEcho and Firework try to keep up their pace, nearly falling behind the group. They struggle to increase their speed as their legs begin to tire, yet remain in line at the back. The two kids continue up the road when they’re yanked by an unknown force from beside them into the bushes. They become frightened at first, but when they see it is their forest companion, they cease their fear. Cotton pops out of the bag to learn what is going on.\n“Shadow lurker!” Firework utters. “What happening? Why active in day? Firework thought shadow lurker only at night.”\n“Uh,” starts Echo. “I think the better question is; why did you pull us from the group? What’s going on?” The creature tugs on both of the friends’ arms. \n“W-what shadow lurker doing?” asks Firework. “Why tug Firework and Echo arms?”\n“I think it wants us to bring us to something,” Echo suggests. “Listen, we can’t… We have to get back to the group… Scoutmaster Buck will wonder where we-” The shadow lurker continues to pull on their arms, trying to curb them into going. “Look, we told you we-”\n“Echo? Firework?” The two turn to see it’s Nectar, who flies in and lands near them. “There you are! Cyan and I noticed you got swallowed up in a shrub.” Just as he said his name, the cyan mouse appears beside him, emerging from foliage. “What happened?” \n“Shadow lurker friend did it,” Firework answers. “Shadow lurker want us to follow it.” Cotton squeaks for confirmation. \n“Why does our friend want us to follow him?” asks Cyan. Firework shrugs. “Well, maybe we should.” \nEcho sighs. “Very well… But we need to make this quick…” The shadow lurker lets go and starts off through the trees. Using his target-locking trace technology, the robot follows the animal with the others shadowing him. Passing through the forest, winding around trees, the friends are led to a cave in the side of a large plateau. Using flashlights, they enter with their small friend as it brings them further into the cave. The four kids look around, noticing more of the shadow lurkers on the top platforms in the cave. Large, seaweed-colored crystals light their way, while dim enough to abide to the creatures’ preference. Small indents in the walls with arches act as their homes as they settle with nests. The younglings stick close to each other, feeling fear emit within their minds. Entering one of the nesting areas, the friends stop to see another shadow lurker lying in the collection of twigs and leaves, still as a statue and curled in a fetal position. The friends’ shadow lurker motions to the curled one and lays its hands on it, then looks up to the friends. \n“This shadow lurker’s friend?” asks Firework. “Family? What wrong?”\nEcho walks over and scans the creature, acquiring data on it. “It doesn’t appear to be doing well…” Echo grabs the arms and moves them, revealing a bloody gash on the torso of the being. “Just as I suspected…”\n“What?” Nectar queries. “What is it, Echo?”\n“This shadow lurker has been injured in some way, and the wound has been infected. If nothing is done about it, this shadow lurker will die.” The shadow lurker that had led the kids down walks up to Echo, whimpering as they tug on his arm. “Is that why you brought us here? You want us to help your friend?”\n“We can get the scoutmaster,” suggests Cyan. “He’ll know what to do with something like this.”\n“Uh,” Firework stops him. “Cyan remember? We not tell anyone. Scoutmaster think shadow lurkers bad…” Cotton squeaks to side with him. \n“If we’re going to help this shadow lurker, then we need to do it by ourselves,” Echo points out. “We’re going to need to clean the wound, but we’re low on water. Luckily, there’s a lake nearby. Firework, take our canteens and fill them with water. We’re going to need some more.”\nFirework salutes. “Yes, Sir!” He goes off to do as ordered, taking the others’ canteen bottles and heading to the lake.\nNectar steps forward. “What can Cyan and I do to help?”\n“We need medicine,” Echo states. On his stomach screen, a green flower with a white center shows. “This plant is great herbal remedy for treating infections and injuries. The surrounding area is home to them. We also need honey to make the medicine.”\n“That should be no problem,” Nectar says. “I’m a bee. I can get you as much flowers and honey as I can.” Using his small wings, the purple and yellow bee flies out of the cave. \n“Cyan, need your help to comfort this poor being. I need to look into my bag to see if we have bandages.”\n“I-I’ll try.” Cyan eases closer and kneels beside the hurt creature, stroking it with his paw. “Nice shadow lurker… It’s okay.” The animal murrs, knowing it’s in good hands. “Hey, this isn’t bad…” \nIt takes about five-to-seven minutes for the other boys to gather their items and head back to the cave. Firework helps by spilling water on the shadow lurker’s wound, then wiping it dry with a blanket found in his backpack. Nectar hands the plants and honey to Echo, who combines the two into a sticky paste, then proceeds to rub it on the animal’s injury. With Cyan’s help, he applies bandages around the creature’s torso. \n“There.” The robot finishes with the dressings. “That should help. Now, with some bed rest and sufficient food intake, you should be back on your feet. Just try to be more careful next time.” The shadow lurker grabs the robot and hugs him, being grateful to have them as medics. The creature who led the children to the colony goes around to hug them, showing gratitude for having helped their friend.\n“Aw,” Firework utters. “Yous welcome, Friend. Firework always help those in need. Firework’s friends, too. Firework won’t help rat pack, though.”\n“Oh my gosh!” spurts Cyan. “We need to get back to the group! They could be worried for us! And the scoutmaster! What will he say?!”\n“Relax, Cyan,” Nectar tells him. “They should be in the town by now. Though, I am curious about about what to say so he’ll believe us…”\n“No worry,” Firework says. “We tell scoutmaster we distracted and strayed from path. We got lost from group, and found way back.”\n“That should be a good lie,” Echo agrees. “Not that I like lying, but what else do we say? Come on, guys. Let’s get back to the group, shall we?” The boys pack up their things and pick up their bags. They exchange farewells to the shadow lurkers before exiting. The robot uses his GPS to pinpoint the town, heading off with his friends. \n",
