"writing": "Morning is here, and the children are already up and enjoying breakfast before the day’s activities commence. Many of them talk about their dreams/nightmares they’ve had during their time on Cloud Nine. However, two of them are eager to share their experience they’ve had with their encounter; Echo and Firework. The robot and dragon are seen walking over to the table with their friends, placing their trays down and making small talk first before they begin to explain what had happened.\n“Something exciting happened last night,” Echo begins. “You guys should’ve been there with us, really.”\n“Oh?” asks Cyan. “And what happened, exactly?”\n“Firework and Echo meet new friend,” the dragon goes. “New friend cute and friendly.”\n“What Firework means to say is, we’ve encountered a creature unlike anything we’ve seen before,” Echo says. “This animal was about my height and hunched a bit, had amber eyes, four arms, and curved horns.”\nNectar’s mouth forms a small ‘o’. “Really? That sounds so cool! How come we’ve never seen them before?”\n“Guess Echo and Firework lucky,” Firework states. “Firework and Echo see it at night. It make friends with Firework and Echo.”\n“It did?” Cyan questions. “And you weren’t scared or anything?”\n“We were at first,” Echo points out. “But, it didn’t seem hostile. In fact, it was rather friendly towards us.”\n“Interesting,” comments Cyan. “Tell us more.” The sound of the whistle blowing catches them off guard. “Guess we’ll have to continue later.” The four friends clean up their meals and dispose of their trays before reporting outside to Scoutmaster Buck for briefing. \n“Good morning, Campers!” utters Buck. “Hope you had a good breakfast, because for today’s lesson, we will be learning how to make a fire.” The deer begins to demonstrate and explain the process and safety of creating a fire when in the wild. \nAs Buck gives his lecture, one of the kids moseys over to the robot and dragon. “What’s this about a creature in the camp, now?”\n“Oh,” Firework goes. “Firework and Echo find one last night.”\n“Really?” asks the kid. “What kind of creature?”\n“It had four arms, was about my height, and had glowing eyes,” says Echo, adding to Firework’s clarification. “It was a creature we haven’t encountered before.”\nThe child’s eyes widen. “You saw a shadow lurker?” The other younglings turn and face the two, gasping and with shock on their faces.\n“A shadow lurker?” repeats Echo, orange in curiosity. “You guys know about these animals?”\nBuck ceases his demonstration upon, noticing the kids have their attention drawn to the robot and dragon. “What’s going on here? Why aren’t you all paying attention? I’m trying to teach you about fire and safety, and you’re all ignoring me.”\nOne of the other kids points to Echo and Firework as they face the scoutmaster. “These two said they’ve found a shadow lurker in the camp.”\n“Firework don’t even know what shadow lurker is,” Firework states. \n“Neither do I,” Echo adds. “In fact, it’s not even in my databanks. Can someone please elaborate us on what a shadow lurker is?”\n“Enough!” shouts the scoutmaster. “I will have no more disruptions or talk of childish stories. You both are to see me after for discussion of this.” The children face the dragon and robot, all saying, “Ooooooh,” in unison, pointing out the two are in trouble.\n\n*** \n\nOnce the demonstration and practice of making fire is over, Echo and Firework head to Scoutmaster Buck’s cabin, where they are greeted at the front door and ordered to enter. Upon stepping inside, Buck directs them to follow him into his office, shutting the door as they go in. Buck stands in front of them. “Okay, now I want the both of you to tell me what’s going on, and I want you to tell me the truth.” The kids look at each other, trying to decide what to tell him. “First, I hear reports of a fight between you and four other boys. Now, I hear stories of some creature roaming around. Is there something you want to tell me?” The deer puts his hooves on his hips. Both of them stare at the floor, grief hung in their minds.\n“Forgive us, Sir,” Echo begins, blue in anticipated sadness and regret. “We were only talking to our friends about what happened last night when the other kids heard us.”\n“We not mean to,” adds Firework. “Firework not sleep because of glowing eyes. Firework went to see what going on. Echo join Firework when found creature in forest.”\n“Indeed. It was unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. It was about my size, had four arms, and curved horns on its head. Sir, we are being truthful.”\n“Hm.” Buck places his hoof on his chin. “I suppose the stories are true, then.” The children look up to him and wonder what he means. “You’re not familiar with the tale of the shadow lurkers, I presume? It’s only imperative that you know.” He sinks into his chair at his desk and tells them to come up to him. “The shadow lurkers are part of an urban legend circulating around these woods. There have been reported sightings that date back to the town’s founding. People have reported seeing glowing amber eyes watching them and shadows following their every move. During Divine Pines’ history, there have been accounts of these creatures being seen in the woods. They are blamed for the kidnapping of children as well as stolen food and havoc brought upon the town. Though, we have found children unharmed in small caves, believing the grottos are their nests. Nobody knows their true nature or why they cause trouble. That is why I must warn you not to say anything more of it. Folk around here are on edge with it, and they do not wish to speak of it. Promise me you two will not incite trouble by uttering these creatures.”\n“Not sure,” Firework says. “Maybe not.”\n“What he means is, we’ll try,” Echo clarifies. \n“Don’t ever speak of it to anybody,” Buck instructs. “People are very uncomfortable, even nowadays between predators and prey. Last thing they want to hear is a bunch of little beasts abducting children.” Echo and Firework assure him they won’t tell anyone of this. “Good. I believe I’ve held you long enough. Go have lunch with your peers.” Dismissed, the two children exit the cabin and meet up with their friends on the outside.\n“What did Buck tell you?” asks Nectar. “Are you two in trouble?”\n“Firework and Echo have chat with scoutmaster,” recounts Firework. “Scoutmaster said not to utter about creature.”\n“Why not?” Cyan wonders. “You’re not going to tell us more about this thing you saw?”\n“It’s best if we don’t get into it,” Echo tells him. “If we talk about it, it’ll only get us in trouble for real.”\n“How come? Did Scoutmaster Buck say it was inappropriate to say?”\n“Yes,” responds Firework. “Must not say a word. Firework hungry and want to eat lunch.” Echo agrees.\n“Sure,” Nectar utters. “Let’s go have lunch.” The friends head off to the mess hall. “So, are you going to see that thing you saw ever again?” The robot and dragon tell him they aren’t so sure, and only time will tell.\n",
