You two and Amina have fun at the park, and don’t get into trouble.”\n“Understood,” Echo responds. Firework nods his approval as well with Cotton clinging onto his head. Zach and Melissa close the door and leave for the stairs. \n\n*** \n\nZach walks with the chameleon through the tall shelves of boxes and containers. Both are wearing blue vests with the logo of the store on them. \n“All right,” begins Karma. “To start you on your first day, you’ll be working with me on the floor. I’ll fill you in on everything there is to know.”\n“Okay,” responds Zach.\nThe chameleon walks through the double doors and into the public area of the store. Shelves lined with products span for feet at a time. Customers scramble all over the place, taking the things they desire to place in their carts. “So, here’s the deal; I’m going to show you how to work a register, stock the shelves, help out customers, the usual. But just in case, you have knowledge of how to handle customers?”\n“I do my best to make sure people are satisfied… I don’t have too much experience…”\n“It’s fine. Once we’ve gone through everything, you’ll be witty as an owl. Let’s talk for a minute, though. Your rabbit and red fox friends are hot and sexy. They nice to you?”\nZach faces him. “Why do you ask?”\n“I’m just curious.” Zach remains silent. “Come on, you can tell me.” Karma perks up a smile. “I’m your friend, aren’t I?”\nZach protests to answer, yet finds the middle ground in between. “They’re good people; very kind souls and I’m lucky to have them.”\n“Where’d you get such pretty faces from anyway?”\n“I met Melissa when her father took me in, and Amina appeared to join us later on.”\n“That’s it? You just got two hot, smoking babes like that?” Zach remains silent. “Man, you are a lucky fox. Well, I’m pretty lucky to be with Tara, really. But you, you’ve got it made with those two. I mean, I’d die just to have more women.”\n“Melissa’s the only one I love a lot. Amina, is just a friend…”\n“You’re in love with the rabbit girl?” asks Karma. “Damn, Boy. Why settle for one when you can have the other as well?” \n“Hey, can you show me how to work a register?” asks Zach, shifting the topic to get Karma off. “I really could use help.”\n“Oh, of course,” Karma tells him. “It’s simple, really…” The two dive deep into training.\n\n*** \n\nThe grey rabbit, donning a green barista apron and cap, follows the fennec fox across the counter, listening as she instructs her on all of the machinery and tasks. \n“Understand what you’ve got to do?” asks Tara. Melissa nods. “Now, show me what you’ve learned. Make a French vanilla bean espresso.” Melissa gets to work on producing the demand. She walks back and forth from the machine and ingredients as Tara watches her shuffle. The rabbit then sets the beverage in front of the fox, allowing her to take a sip of the freshly-brewed cup. “Melissa.” Melissa awaits her response. “You have done well. You’ve learned faster than any other employee that have ever been here.”\n“Pawbucks is my favorite coffee place,” Melissa implies. “I’ve ordered every drink and watched them make it.”\n“Guess you can say you’re happy to be here then, eh?”\nMelissa smiles. “I suppose so.” \n“Good. Say, I would like to ask you something.” Melissa tells her to go on and ask. “Aren’t you the daughter of Green Gadgets’ CEO, Jack the Jackalope?” Melissa confirms the information. “My gosh! What are you doing here in Furton? I thought you were rich and happy.”\n“My friends and I left Buscity to pursue a new life,” Melissa explains. “We thought it was too dangerous with Team Rescuers around, and I wasn’t happy there anyway.”\n“Well.” Tara wraps her arm around the rabbit with a smile. “You are very much welcomed here! We pride ourselves on service and generosity. You will love it here!”\n\n*** \n\nAmina and the kids walk together through down the paved path of a large area surrounded by greenery. The tall, concrete buildings box in the clear territory. Cotton, clinging tightly around the robot’s head, stays low as the buildings intimidate the small animal.\n“This park is nice,” says Echo. “The Buscity park was never this nice.” Amina remains quiet. The robot faces her, changing to orange. “Everything all right, Amina?” \nAmina turns to him. “Hm? Oh, I’m all right… I’m just in heavy thought.”\n“What Amina thinking about?” asks Firework. “About squirrel girl in Amina’s past?”\nAmina sighs. “Yes, but I have other memories going through my head, which are quite painful to me… The other kids pushing me around and belittling me for being a slow learner…” Amina stops, rubbing her arm as she stares down at the path. “Sometimes I wish I never had flaws… It’s a reason why I ended up befriending Zach, Melissa, and you guys… We all share those feelings… I wish to escape from the terrible prison known as the past and live onwards… Sometimes, I just-” She collides into another body, knocking her a few inches away. Amina stops and glances at the figure she had bumped into. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to-” She freezes, looking at the person in front of her. To her surprise, she makes out the tribal paint and tribal outfits she saw once before. The other figure she had run into is the squirrel from the supermarket. “It’s you! The squirrel from the supermarket!”\nThe squirrel has her eyes on the red fox. “Do I know you?”\n“Did you live up the river away from the fox tribe?”\n“I did… How do you know- Wait…” The squirrel’s eyes open wider as her mouth forms in the shape of a small ‘o’. “Red fox girl?” Her expression changes as the small ‘o’ bends into a smile. “Oh my god! It is you! I’m so glad to see you!”\n“It’s an honor to see you, too. Um, I’m sorry, my memory is a bit shady…”\n“Nerelia,” says the squirrel. “I’m Nerelia.” Amina tells her name to her as well. “It’s been so long…”\n“Yes… Where have you been all these years, and what brings you to Furton?” \n“Old Friend, I have a lot to tell you.” The two girls go to sit down as engage in a heavy conversation and discuss the past, starting from when they got separated from the flood. Nerelia informs Amina that after her parents’ deaths, she had left the tribe in order to pursue a better life and obtain knowledge on medicine to help others. She had struggled with challenges, and continues to up this point. “And that’s my story…”\n“You’ve been through a lot, I can tell,” says Amina. She then shares her story, from being in the woods, to the point of arriving in Furton. “And so, I’m with a couple of animals who I call my friends.”\n“That is quite nice. I sure wish I had someone to call my friend before I ran into you again.”\n“You are alone?” Nerelia nods. “It’s not good to be alone, especially in a world such as this. Sometimes, hunting for a nice boy is good.”\n“I actually prefer women more,” Nerelia tells her. “That’s another reason I had left the tribe… I didn’t want anybody to find out about it…”\nAmina smiles and puts her paw on Nerelia’s shoulder. “It’s okay. I am that way, too. I prefer women strongly over men. We are alike, you and I.” \nNerelia looks to her and reflects her expression. “Do you like ice cream?”\n“Um… I suppose…” \n“How’s about we go get some and hang out?”\n“I shouldn’t leave my friends… Zach and Melissa had ordered me to lookout for them.”\n“Is fine,” Firework tells her. “Firework and Echo can watch selves. Amina and Nerelia go get frozen desserts while Firework and Echo play in park.”\nAmina places her paw on her head. “I don’t know, Firework…”\n“Firework promise won’t be bad.” Firework gives her a smile. “Amina go hangout with Nerelia. Firework and Echo will meet Amina home.”\n“Don’t get into trouble,” the fox tells him. \n“Firework and Echo won’t.” Amina follows the squirrel away from the park. Firework pivots to the robot and smiles. “Firework and Echo have fun now.”\nEcho changes to orange. “Fun? What do you mean, Firework?” \n“Firework and Echo alone. Have day to ourselves. Firework and Echo can have fun.” The dragon continues to smile, causing Echo’s orange colors to mix with some white to show an uncomfortable emotion. “We go have fun!” He grabs the robot’s arm and yanks him away. Cotton squeals and smiles with joy.\n\n***\n\nThe dragon and robot take a long time out in the city, unattended and alone. They jog around inside a candy store, hyped on sugar and playing tag before being chased out. Then, they pull pranks on people, changing bathroom signs and making fart sounds near spectators. Lastly, they fool around, making silly faces as they relax by the corner and laugh.\nEcho looks at the time on his arm, changing his expression to flat-mouthed and cyan. “Firework, we spent a lot of time out and about… We should return to the apartment, otherwise the others will grow worried…” \n“Firework not worried,” Firework tells him. “Firework can fly back to apartment. Firework carry Echo as Echo navigates.”\n“You sure that’s a good idea?” asks the robot. “I’m pretty certain the city restricts its citizens from flying… The flying-type animals, that is.”\n“Firework fly us home! Come!” Firework shows him his back. “Echo get on. Firework fly!”\nEcho sighs. “I hope we don’t get caught…” The robot clings onto the grey dragon’s back as Firework flaps his wings and takes flight. Echo’s colors turn white as the dragon speeds off. “Whoa!” He clenches tight and holds on as Firework ascends to the middle of the skyscrapers. Cotton wraps his tail around the robot’s head very tightly. “Firework, I don’t feel so secure being high up like this!”\nFirework grunts and struggles. “Echo heavy… Can’t fly perfect…”\n“What?!” Echo watches with fear as they descend quicker than they’ve ascended. “You didn’t tell me you can’t lift beyond a certain weight!” The two kids decline rapidly, gliding across the city into an alleyway. Their screams fill the sky and grab the attention from the onlookers below. The dragon’s altitude becomes low, but he struggles to stay off the ground while avoiding obstacles. Soon, he and the robot make a rough landing into a pile of garbage cans in a nearby alleyway. Firework, dazed, lies in the pile with his eyes swirling around and stars dancing above his head. Echo is on his back beside the downed dragon, shaking and white with fear as Cotton is frozen on his torso screen. “M-my circuits…” \n“Oooh,” Firework responds. “Firework see pretty stars… Heh…” \nEcho gets up from the ground and holds Cotton out. “You okay, Cotton?” Cotton nods his head. The robot then turns to Firework, who stands holding his head. “We are never trying that again…”\n“Firework can fly! Firework need more practice, especially with carrying heavy objects…”\nThe robot sighs. “Forget it… Let’s just go home… I’ll navigate us there…”\n“You won’t be going alone,” utters a voice before two dark shadows cast over the kids. Echo and Firework turn to where the shadows loom over them and become paralyzed with fright. Firework’s ears droop while he curls his tail in front of him as Echo’s colors change back to white. Cotton hides behind his tail with drooped ears, much like Firework. The kids remain frozen as they stare up their uniforms. “You two are in big trouble.”\n\n","writing_bbcode_parsed":"Zach walks out of the apartment, but looks back into the room. “Going for my first day of work. Cotton wraps his tail around the robot’s head very tightly. “Firework, I don’t feel so secure being high up like this!”
Firework grunts and struggles. “Echo heavy… Can’t fly perfect…”
“What?!” Echo watches with fear as they descend quicker than they’ve ascended. “M-my circuits…”
“Oooh,” Firework responds. “Firework see pretty stars… Heh…”
Echo gets up from the ground and holds Cotton out. “You okay, Cotton?” Cotton nods his head. The robot then turns to Firework, who stands holding his head. “We are never trying that again…”
“Firework can fly! Firework need more practice, especially with carrying heavy objects…”
The robot sighs. “Forget it… Let’s just go home… I’ll navigate us there…”
“You won’t be going alone,” utters a voice before two dark shadows cast over the kids. “You two are in big trouble.”

","pools_count":0,"title":"Fox and Friends Episode 14: First Day","deleted":"f","public":"t","mimetype":"image/png","pagecount":"1","rating_id":"0","rating_name":"General","ratings":[],"submission_type_id":"12","type_name":"Writing - Document","guest_block":"f","friends_only":"f","comments_count":"0","views":"1","sales_description":null,"forsale":"f","digitalsales":"f","printsales":"f","digital_price":""}
