Turning to the dining hall, he wanders it, but then stops and sees the gang gathered around the table. He is greeted with “good morning” from the friends before looking at the surface of the table, which is littered with all kinds of breakfast foods from a diner menu. Omelets ooze with cheese while stuffed with bacon, while pancakes tower ten stacks high, lathered in maple syrup. Hash browns and buttered-spread toast are present as well. Steaming cups of coffee and tea sit beside the plates of food, as well as cups of orange juice and oil for the robot. “What is this?” \n“We’ve thought to make you breakfast for this lovely day,” Echo tells him, happy and green. “Zach, Amina, Melissa, and I have made it special.”\nJack looks upon the feast of morning delights. “My God… This is quite a treat…” The jackalope looks around at the cheese-oozing omelets, collection of home fries, and a side of white toast with butter, as well as a mug of coffee at his spot. “Does smell good, but I’m afraid I can’t be bothered with breakfast at the moment. All though, you guys really have outdone yourselves.”\n“Thank Melissa,” Zach says. “She’s the one who came up with the idea and did most of the cooking.” \nMelissa quickly places a paw on his arm. “It’s not necessary…” Jack leaves the room while everyone else begins to dig into their creations. She turns to the dragon, who scarfs down his food quickly. “Firework, slow down. Chew your food.”\n“Firework hungry!” Firework utters. “Must eat!”\n“She is right, Firework,” says Echo, putting a hand on the dragon’s back between his wings. “You shouldn’t eat so fast. You will end up choking.”\nFirework stops and sighs. “Okay… Firework eat slower…” Firework proceeds to eat half the rate he was before. \n“Good dragon,” Melissa tells him. \nAs Jack stands by the archway of the dining hall, he takes notice of an amber glow at the bottom of the doorway behind the couch in the living room. “Did any of you go into my office?”\n“What?” Zach asks. “What do you mean, Sir?”\nJack turns to the gang. “My office light’s on. Did any of you go in there? It’s off limits.” The gang all get up and examine what he means.\n“Why, no, Dad,” Melissa tells him. “None of us would think to go into your office for any reason.” She turns to the others, who shake their heads for “no” to her. “Would any of Capital Corp be in there?”\n“Only I go in my office,” Jack assures. “And Capital Corp are not here at the moment.” He turns back at the amber light. “If no one here has been in my office, then someone else has…” \nEcho stares at the glow and scans the contents. “One additional lifeform detected. Species: wolf. Other information currently unavailable…”\n“Correction: Someone is in my office.” Jack takes out his phone, presses some buttons with his thumb, then holds it to his ear. “Capital Corp, rise and shine… We have a situation… Woke up this morning and found the light on in my office. Suspecting an alleged break-in with assailant still inside. Need you to get here immediately.” He hangs up.\n“We should check it out,” Amina suggests. She notices Zach walking ahead of her and the others. “Zach?”\n“Zach, what are you doing?” Melissa utters. “Wait!” The gang, as well as Jack, slowly follow him from behind as he approaches Jack’s door. Zach cautiously reaches for the door, turns the handle, and then pushes it open. He spots a grey wolf with a red armband, standing right by the desk. “Jay…”\nThe wolf looks up and takes notice of him. “Well, look who it is… It’s the flawed fox! I’m surprised you’re not dead.”\n“Jay the Wolf?!” exclaims Jack. “What are you doing here?! Come to steal my life’s work, I suspect?!”\n“I don’t have to explain myself to you! Wait!” Jay points to the fox. “What are you doing here?! Why are you with the leader of Capital Corp?!” \n“I left Heroto,” Zach tells him. “I couldn’t take it anymore, being pushed around and labeled a “flawed fox”. I was in the woods for a while until I went unconscious. That’s when Capital Corp found me and I was taken to the hospital. When I was nursed back to health, Jack took me in. I made friends while living here, and never thought I could be happy again.”\n“Figures you’d be a traitor!” Jay snaps. “Leaving Heroto to be with Capital Corp!”\n“It has nothing to do with that!” Jack yells. “You’re not welcomed here! Leave or I’ll have Capital Corp force you out!”\nZach approaches the wolf. “Be reasonable, Jay… This isn’t going to get you anywhere. Just leave…”\n“You think I’m going to listen to you?” asks Jay. He looks at Jack. “Why take him in? Why pick a flawed fox to try and make your little minion? He doesn’t stand a chance being with Capital Corp, if that’s what your plan is.” \n“That’s enough!” snaps Jack. He approaches him. “Get out of here! Now!”\nJay pushes the jackalope away from him and into the wall. Jack falls onto his seat. “Don’t you dare!” He then faces Zach. “And what makes you so special, anyway? It’s not like you’re battle-worthy.” He shoves Zach with his paw. “Come on! You won’t!”\n“I don’t want to fight you, Jay,” Zach utters. \n“Just as I thought: You’re weak! You always were!” He throws punches at him, hitting him in the face and stomach. His friends watch in terror. “You were never worthy to be like us!”\n“What are you doing, Zach?!” Jack demands. “Defend yourself! You have to fight back!” Firework and Echo agree and tell Zach the same thing. Zach continues getting beaten, causing him to lean against the desk after getting hit a seventh time. His paws clench. Zach stands and faces Jay.\n “Everyone was right about you!” Jay shouts. “You’re nothing but a flawed fox!” Just as he’s about to throw an eight punch, Amina pushes him away, causing the wolf to hit into a bookcase and then collapse onto the floor with the books that drop onto him.\nAmina faces Zach. “You okay?” \nZach looks at her. “Amina, look out!” Jay smacks the red fox with a book, knocking her to the floor. He faces the wolf. “You just hit a girl! You can’t do that!”\n“I can do whatever I want!” Jay grabs Zach and tosses him out the open doors into the living room. He pounces onto him and grips the fox’s neck with his paws, choking him. Zach struggles, trying to get the wolf’s paws off his neck. “I will enjoy taking you out! Once that happens, I will be honored for taking down a traitor!”\n“Get off of him!” Melissa runs in and whacks Jay in the head with a metal shovel found by the fireplace, knocking him off the fox. She helps Zach up before the wolf charges toward her. \nJay pins the rabbit to the wall. “You dumb bangbun! How dare you!”\n“Leave her alone!” orders Zach. “It’s me you want!”\nThe wolf looks back to Zach, letting go of Melissa and dropping her while turning his whole body to the fox. “This will be interesting.” Jay’s paw grows long claws to which he intends to use on the fox. Zach shifts his eyes to the dropped shovel in front of his rabbit friend before looking back to Jay. “Come here, Fox Boy!” Jay charges and swings his claws at him, but Zach dodges out of the way and heads for the shovel. Picking it up in his paws, he raises it to his defense just in time before the wolf strikes him with his claws. Jay sways his claws again, but the fox acts fast, blocking his attack with the fire shovel. He continues to prevent the sharp claws from nearing his body with his iron weapon. Zach fails to defend himself a couple of times due to Jay’s fast moves, scratching his cheek, arm, and his torso, tearing his flesh open and showing blood. However, the fox manages to strike back quickly, waving his shovel at the wolf to keep him at bay. A couple of swings and Zach manages to hit Jay, but the wolf growls, showing no signs of backing down. The fox manages to dodge a few attacks, but the attempts cause paintings to shred and sculptures to topple and break. The next casualty becomes the couch, getting shredded by Jay’s claws as he tries to attack Zach again. \nAmina rushes in again, kicking him away from her friend as a means to save him. Jay gets back to his feet and growls. Barging in from the front door, Capital Corp appears in the archway. The wolf looks to the window and jumps right through, smashing the glass and setting off on foot. Capital Corp backs out and proceeds to chase him. \nZach kneels to the floor, grudging his torso and dropping the shovel while panting. “Man… His claws hurt…” He looks to Melissa, stands, then makes his way over to her, helping the rabbit onto her feet. “You okay?”\nMelissa looks at him, putting her paws on the sides of his shoulders. “I think I should be the one asking you that…”\n“Yeah… Just a couple of scratches and bruises… Wolves are really scary…”\nJack emerges from his office. “I don’t believe it… Look at this mess!” He puts his paws on his head. “Oh, bloody hell!” \nHis daughter turns to him, then walks over to the jackalope. “Dad, don’t worry… Everything will be okay. We just-”\n“I don’t want to hear it!” Jack interrupts. “When I get back from work, I expect this place to be cleaned up and repaired!” He exits the living room and out the front door.
