I doubt anyone well remember that post and even I have lost it but regardless, I wanted to make a follow up. \n\nThe past years I’ve grown a lot as a person, realized and formed my own identity more and such, basically, I grew out of puberty finally. But that’s not the part that tugs the heartstrings. \n\nI’m from an abusive household where I was told that my interests where childish and not for ‘young ladies’ (I’m a transman) and the only person who supported my interests was my big brother. He had this 1991 plush of Sonic and when he moved out he gave it to me, the quotes up there are from him, translated because I’m dutch but still. \n\nThere’s a lot of things that ended up ‘saving my life’ like my partner and their family taking me in and the sheer fact I owe the Homestuck Fandom for existing at all since that’s where I met my future spouse to be, regardless, I definately wouldn’t be the same person had I not grown up with Sonic the Hedgehog being an influence in my life. \n\nYears of emotional and psychological abuse really damaged me up hard and I only realize these things now but it’s been six months since I left my abusive mother and sister to live somewhere where I’m safer and ultimately more loved. Where I can be myself.
