Alex and her husband James stand outside the clinic, looking down towards the strange flier they had with them. It was a strange ad the two of them had come across, one that was asking specifically for a loving couple to try out a new fertility serum. It didn't say too much else at least not on the thing they got. Despite all of that it did pay well. A good few thousands for one day of testing, and then additional payment for follow up exams and check ups. The two of them were also looking into starting a family, and while they were having issues this might be what they needed to get started, and even get a bit extra from it. Given there was the risk that came with it. This experimental treatment could lead to different issues and possible birth defects. But this was something they needed to try, this was a god sent chance. So looking towards each other, and grasping each other's hands the couple offer a smile to each other before starting to make their way inside. Alex leans slightly on his shoulder trying to get comfortable to fight back the growing nerves in her stomach.


"Hello there~ How can I help you two?" A woman at the building's counter asks. She offers a small smile to the both of them, taking a quick look between the couple. Alex looks up to James who nods and steps forwards clearing his throat as he holds up the paper. Blushing a bit before starting to speak. 


"Y-yeah hey we came across this flier a bit earlier, and we were uh.." He pauses for a moment, huffing slightly obviously a bit embarrassed by what they were here for. "We were wondering if you all were still open for the fertility trial?" He questions in a quiet tone. The woman holds her smile, but chuckles softly at his nervousness. But she does nod as well. Standing up as she grabs a clipboard and a few slips of paper. 


"Indeed we are sir~ please come this way." She offers a wave of her hand to the couple as she starts to walk off. Moving deeper into the building. The couple glance around, only now realizing just how empty the building was. It was eerily quiet inside, sending a shiver through them as the only sound in the air were the clacking of the woman's heels against the ground. The two of them follow behind at a slight distance as they look around the halls.


"Strange place to hold a fertility trial huh?" James asks as they pass a few windows. Looking inside the both of them could see various tanks with different insects inside. Though most notably were the copious amounts of ant farms lining the walls. Various people inside examine the ants inside. Taking notes and even putting in a few different pills or liquids into the tank. 


"Very weird. Kinda seems more like an ant farm study or something… Are you sure that this thing was for humans? We're not signing up for some insect trial are we?" Alex asks with a frown. But James shakes his head, scratching his head with his free hand. 


"Well no it says a loving couple, which I'd imagine would be humans.." He and his wife look towards each other, speeding up a bit to catch up with the woman. "E-excuse me ma'am, we had a quick question!" James says as he hurries to keep up. The woman glances over her shoulder, giving a nod but she doesn't stop walking. "We couldn't help but notice that there were quite a bit of insects in the labs. Probably sounds a bit silly but uh.. This is a test for humans, yeah?" He asks, blushing even deeper, crossing his arms as Alex stays by his side. 


"Heh~ Oh I can understand that worry. Yes we do keep a lot of bugs around~ But we are looking for Humans for this test." She explains, holding a hand up to wave the question away dismissively. "Please don't worry too much. We conduct many other tests, though most of them are more private of course. The insect ones are well ones that can be done in mass, and well considering their size we don't feel the need to keep it in private." She says with a laugh. The couple chuckled a bit themselves feeling relieved by her words. Though Alex still felt a strange dread in the back of her mind. After a few more minutes of walking the woman suddenly stops. The couple almost walked right into her as they were once again distracted by the surrounding area. Catching themselves they stop mere inches away from her as she hums softly. Sliding a card through the reader and typing in a quick code. "Please mister, missus~ Step right in, the Doctor will be with you soon." She says stepping aside, and offering the two a short bow. 


The couple nod and make their way inside. The room past the door was strange, it was vast and empty. There wasn't anything in the room, and it was padded. Lit up by bright fluorescent lights that buzzed loudly. "Hmmm.. I'm sure that won't get annoying.." James grumbles to himself, shaking his head as they look around. "Why do they need a room this big anyways?" He rambles like that for a good bit as the door starts to close behind them.


Alex meanwhile started to move a bit deeper into the room. Looming at the vast white that stretched out in all directions it likely wasn't as large as they thought but the stark white of the floor walls and ceiling gave the illusion that the walls were infinite. After sometime the speakers above them crackle to lift. "Welcome to the test, this should only take a few hours or so." The voice was muffled, and hard to hear properly. "We ask you to strip down, remove all your clothes and set them next to the door. Temporary replacements will be granted during testing. We do not want to ruin any of your clothes if you are to suffer from any side effects." The both of them blush heavily at this, it wasn’t so much that they were embarrassed by the thought of it, they had been together for a few years more so they were used to seeing each other naked, but it was a bit different to just be stuffed into a padded room and told to strip down. But they comply and start to undress. Dressing down to their underwear. Though as they start to fold up their clothes the speakers crackle to life once more, that muffled voice coming through once more. “Please remove all of your clothing before continuing.”


James grumbles slightly, and shakes his head. “It makes sense though it feels weird knowing we’re being watched..” Alex remarks in a hushed tone, hoping that no one aside from James could hear her. “I get that it’s a test trial and of course people would be watching but still. Just feels.. Wrong, you know what I mean James?” She asks to cover herself up best she could as she finishes removing her bra. James gives a slight nod of agreement as he slips out of his boxers. Folding them up along with everything else as the two of them start to move towards the door. 


“Yeah I get what you mean babe it does feel weird but hey look at it this way think of how much we’re going to get paid for this, how much money we’re going to make to help start our family yeah?” He offers a warm smile to his wife, which makes her blush, taking a deep breath as she nods, walking over to join him as the both of them set their clothes down in front of the door. Almost as if whoever was watching them was waiting on the other side, two slots on either side of the door opened up, a pair of hands grabbed their clothes, pulling them out before swapping them out with two blue  hospital gowns. Though as they pick it up, unfurling the garment they notice the hole in the back seems quite a bit larger than it normally would have been. But the two of them don’t have long to think about it as they just want to quickly get dressed so whoever was watching couldn’t just stare at their naked bodies. Once they were dressed the both of them took a look around the room once more. Looking up towards the speakers once more, James clears his throat. “So what now! We got dressed?!” He questions, assuming they probably couldn’t hear him unless he talked loud enough. But soon again the speakers crackle to life.


“There is no need to yell sir. But yes the next step will be starting up soon enough.” The voice echoes through the empty room. “After the first injection we’ll need you to stay around for a good 20-30 minutes. Depending on how long it takes everything to kick in. Please do relax, it won't be too much longer from now.” The voice explains as things begin to change and shift around the room. A few holes opening up in the walls. Various furniture and even a TV push out of the hole in the walls. Giving the strange room a bit more life, and making it look just a bit more normal. Or at least as normal as a room where everything was stark white could be. 


Alex frowns slightly, rubbing the back of her head before shaking it. “Well not much else to do, want to relax, and just take a load off or something?” She asks curiously, holding a hand out to her husband. James nods, seeing as they didn’t have much else to do until the trail properly started the two of them make their way over to a stainless white couch, plopping down as the both of them yawn softly, slouching and leaning back. Getting nice and comfortable the two of them look around for some kind of remote, though before they can get too comfortable the speakers crackle once more before beeping twice in quick succession. 


“Thank you for being so patient. We will now begin the first test. A simple injection, and we will watch for any side effects. Please relax your bodies and stay calm, it is the only way this will properly work.” The voice explains as there’s another beep, this time from behind them as two robotic hands emerge from the walls, lightly grasping their shoulders, rubbing it slightly before pressing something sharp into their shoulders. They don’t fight against it of course, simply relaxing as best they can as they feel the pressure of the hand pressing down on the plunger. Injecting a liquid into their bodies. “Not really to be honest, there are always side effects with things like this, they probably have some kind of safety thing in place to keep us from getting too fucked up. Plus even if we do I’m sure they’ll pay us a bit extra~” He says with a small chuckle as Alex shakes her head, but he was right. There was probably something that would keep them safe so she eventually gives in and takes a seat on the couch, waiting for further instructions. However as the two of them are sitting there they start to feel their body shift and change. It was minor at first, their legs feeling slightly dry. Reaching a hand down James scratches slightly against the side of his leg. Alex shakes her head, glaring up towards the area above, and specifically at the speakers towards the other end of the room. “W-what is this? We didn’t sign up for this crap!” She shouts. “What’s happening to us?!” She questions, though there isn’t a reply for a bit after a few minutes the speakers come on once more. 


“Fascinating.. We didn’t expect such an outcome. Don’t worry this should only be temporary. Just stay calm and relaxed. It would see your body is having some kind of adverse reaction to the injection. Specifically it would appear your DNA itself is melding with the Ant DNA that was mixed into the formula.” The voice explains as she can hear the sound of someone flipping through papers on the other end. “Yes, as I said it shouldn’t be permanent. Just keep calm and focus on the changes, tell me you two, do you feel any different? Mentally, physically, sexually? Any changes aside from the well, obvious ones?” He questions the sound of something tapping against a desk echoing through the speaker. Shaking his head James manages to pull himself out of his confusion. His hand shoots up, wavering and shaking a bit in the air.

Well we will just have to see.” He explains, his voice sounding a tad shaky and unsure of himself as the speaker quickly shuts off once more. Though at the last moment the two of them swore they could hear the sound of shuffling and a few voices in the background. The two of them look to one another, crossing their arms a bit before looking down to their still changing body. By now the both of them had around three sets of red ant legs.
