"description": "Design sketches for the uniforms worn by the fourth Reindeer class. Taking into account the drawbacks of the previous years' uniforms, the new ones are quicker to go on or off, and provide more warmth to the Reindeer, while allowing enough cooling to ensure that they remain comfortable while idle and don't overheat while working - while continuing to maintain a fresh style, and showing off their brands.\n\nThe asymmetric fleece sweaters wrap around the Reindeer easily, and are secured with Velcro, the free ends weighted with a silver accent. The lines are complimented by the scarf, with diagonal-cut ends. \n\nThis year's hoof-boots, like those used during the last two years, are equal parts decorative and are actually functional snowshoes, with a biomimetic design based on actual reindeer's hooves. Like last year, the slimline profile allows a better fit, with less slipping than the first generation, but relies upon the preemptive removal of dewclaws, or their congenital absence. Controversially, this also included the euphemistically-termed \"front dewclaws\". However, a lack of difficulty during the program and the sparsity of complaints coming from retired Reindeer and their keepers led to the design being declared a success and carried on for the use of the class of 2050. Given the need to maintain \"absolute territory\" between the leg warmers and the boots for both ergonomic and aesthetic reasons, the front ones were switched to a low-rise design fastening over the wrist, while the rear boots again fasten above the heel. Once again, \"Santa Claws\" will be installed during our patients' declawing process; like last years' model, the prosthetics keep the claw-slit from closing, providing the same natural, \"full\" feeling there that many of our patients will be used to. The nubs are completely blunt, fitting easily within the hoofbots, and extending beyond the fingertip only 1-2mm even during active eversion. Unlike prior years, the Santa Claws used this year will be silver, to match the theme of the year. Cosmetically, these implants glint in the fingertips, even when not actively everted, protruding to 1-1.5mm below flush with the tip of the digit. All sizes are approximate, and are proportional with the size of the digit - a large toe can easily double these estimates, which were made with an average-sized middle digit of a forepaw.\n\nHorn caps were switched back to a design reminiscent of 2048; unlike the faux antlers worn by the class of 2049, a simple, blunt ogive-shaped cap was put in place, designed to continue the profile of the horn until it comes to a hemispherical end.\n\nEar piercings were simplified, with a series of cosmetic rings along the upper spar - four in Reindeer, three in Fawns - and a fifth, functional piercing in the Reindeer next to the skull, allowing the bridle to be anchored to the ear-spar without pulling on the earfin. Earbells have been reduced to two along the lower spar, one in Fawns, and enlarged.\n\nThe nose ring has been retained, but was switched from luminous to a pierced-type polished silver captive-bead ring, a carefully-designed out-of-round shape intended to sit flat on the nose, rather than hang forward like more utilitarian rings. The captive bead is dumbbell shaped, designed to rest in the piercing in the septum, to prevent shifting and preserve a seamless appearance. As they do not need to be removed for nightly charging, like the Rudolph Rings used in 2049, and provide a contoured shape for improved fit, they are intended to be worn continuously and require the assistance of a piercing practitioner of average skill to insert or remove, along with ring-opening and ring-closing pliers of the appropriate size.\n\nThe conventional RFID microchip will be implanted, once again flashed with a custom firmware to facilitate tap-to-adopt functions. [s]In addition, a slightly-tweaked of our Reindeer-edition \"Jellybean\" implants will be used to provide either a gentle hormone transition, or supportive anabolic steroids to ensure bone, muscle, and cardiac health during the Reindeer's tours of duty.[/s] [i]Previous versions of this release indicated that the Jellybeans would constitute only a minor tweak on last year's successful formula. This year's Jellybeans will be an all-new long-acting formulation, providing a slightly higher level of training drugs continuously, and providing a steadier dosage than previous years' implants, ensuring that no Reindeer this year will be sidelined for implant replacement.[/i]\n\nA collar will be provided as part of the uniform, the standard Bodyshoppe belled design, \"upscaled\" to a degree appropriate for the Reindeer's function as brand ambassadors and lined with shearling, rather than the customary suede or chamois.\n\nTail jewelry, in the form of a silver-over-titanium \"curtain ring\" piercing will be provided as feasible, with a fallback design for those whose tailspade will not accommodate the large-gauge piercing or those who lack one entirely.\n\nUnder all of this, a harness representing the combined learnings of the last three years will be worn. Putting most of the strain onto the shoulders and breastbone, it avoids the collarbone entirely to prevent chafing or rubbing there. Likewise, the bridle represents the sum of our experience, simplified to a single seamless strap around the muzzle, through which the bit passes, attached to a strap on either side which attaches to a \"structural\" ear piercing with a concealed buckle. The side straps' excess sizing holes can be filled with silver pegs for a unified, finished appearance. These will be available in several pre-fitted sizes based on muzzle size.\n\nIn contrast, Fawns' uniforms are much simpler; they will wear the same arm, leg, and tail warmers as Reindeer, the same hoof-boots, collar, and scarf, and substantially the same piercings, jewelry, and body modifications. Smaller-gauge tail piercings are expected; just as with the nose rings, they will be available in a wide range of sizes to fit any dragonets that are volunteered. More failures may be expected to find adequate tail-spades for the curtain-ring, so a generous supply of the selected studs will be provided as well. Ear piercings are reduced - two fewer along the top spar, and only one bell on the bottom spar. In addition, like last year, our Fawns will receive the same Jellybeans as Reindeer, to ensure clean healing, post-operative comfort, and a seamless transition from natural hormones to synthetic anabolics, as well as the usual training-aid compounds. The baseline hormone levels provided by the Jellybeans will be reduced as necessary to avoid unexpected hormone spikes after implantation. [i]We can confirm that Fawns will also be receiving the improved Jellybeans this year, and that the new implants have been tested as safe in all dragonets. Please allow an additional 4-6 weeks beyond the previously estimated cutoff for the effects to fade fully. It is considered unhealthy to remove such an implant once placed - we request your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience that may occur.[/i]\n\nTheir uniform departs, there - their primary garment will consist of a long, flowing cape adequate to serve as a blanket for the Fawn, as well as to share warmth with passengers - they will be lapdragons, in the most literal way possible. This is somewhat of a departure compared to last year's Fawns program, in which body modifications were toned down significantly when compared with our Reindeer. This time, our Fawns will have pride of place alongside our Reindeer in the sleighs.",

Controversially, this also included the euphemistically-termed "front dewclaws". However, a lack of difficulty during the program and the sparsity of complaints coming from retired Reindeer and their keepers led to the design being declared a success and carried on for the use of the class of 2050. Given the need to maintain "absolute territory" between the leg warmers and the boots for both ergonomic and aesthetic reasons, the front ones were switched to a low-rise design fastening over the wrist, while the rear boots again fasten above the heel. Once again, "Santa Claws" will be installed during our patients' declawing process; like last years' model, the prosthetics keep the claw-slit from closing, providing the same natural, "full" feeling there that many of our patients will be used to. The nubs are completely blunt, fitting easily within the hoofbots, and extending beyond the fingertip only 1-2mm even during active eversion. Unlike prior years, the Santa Claws used this year will be silver, to match the theme of the year. Cosmetically, these implants glint in the fingertips, even when not actively everted, protruding to 1-1.5mm below flush with the tip of the digit. All sizes are approximate, and are proportional with the size of the digit - a large toe can easily double these estimates, which were made with an average-sized middle digit of a forepaw.
Horn caps were switched back to a design reminiscent of 2048; unlike the faux antlers worn by the class of 2049, a simple, blunt ogive-shaped cap was put in place, designed to continue the profile of the horn until it comes to a hemispherical end.
Ear piercings were simplified, with a series of cosmetic rings along the upper spar - four in Reindeer, three in Fawns - and a fifth, functional piercing in the Reindeer next to the skull, allowing the bridle to be anchored to the ear-spar without pulling on the earfin. Earbells have been reduced to two along the lower spar, one in Fawns, and enlarged.
The nose ring has been retained, but was switched from luminous to a pierced-type polished silver captive-bead ring, a carefully-designed out-of-round shape intended to sit flat on the nose, rather than hang forward like more utilitarian rings. The captive bead is dumbbell shaped, designed to rest in the piercing in the septum, to prevent shifting and preserve a seamless appearance. As they do not need to be removed for nightly charging, like the Rudolph Rings used in 2049, and provide a contoured shape for improved fit, they are intended to be worn continuously and require the assistance of a piercing practitioner of average skill to insert or remove, along with ring-opening and ring-closing pliers of the appropriate size.
The conventional RFID microchip will be implanted, once again flashed with a custom firmware to facilitate tap-to-adopt functions. In addition, a slightly-tweaked of our Reindeer-edition "Jellybean" implants will be used to provide either a gentle hormone transition, or supportive anabolic steroids to ensure bone, muscle, and cardiac health during the Reindeer's tours of duty. Previous versions of this release indicated that the Jellybeans would constitute only a minor tweak on last year's successful formula. This year's Jellybeans will be an all-new long-acting formulation, providing a slightly higher level of training drugs continuously, and providing a steadier dosage than previous years' implants, ensuring that no Reindeer this year will be sidelined for implant replacement.
A collar will be provided as part of the uniform, the standard Bodyshoppe belled design, "upscaled" to a degree appropriate for the Reindeer's function as brand ambassadors and lined with shearling, rather than the customary suede or chamois.
Tail jewelry, in the form of a silver-over-titanium "curtain ring" piercing will be provided as feasible, with a fallback design for those whose tailspade will not accommodate the large-gauge piercing or those who lack one entirely.
Under all of this, a harness representing the combined learnings of the last three years will be worn. Putting most of the strain onto the shoulders and breastbone, it avoids the collarbone entirely to prevent chafing or rubbing there. Likewise, the bridle represents the sum of our experience, simplified to a single seamless strap around the muzzle, through which the bit passes, attached to a strap on either side which attaches to a "structural" ear piercing with a concealed buckle. The side straps' excess sizing holes can be filled with silver pegs for a unified, finished appearance. These will be available in several pre-fitted sizes based on muzzle size.
In contrast, Fawns' uniforms are much simpler; they will wear the same arm, leg, and tail warmers as Reindeer, the same hoof-boots, collar, and scarf, and substantially the same piercings, jewelry, and body modifications. Smaller-gauge tail piercings are expected; just as with the nose rings, they will be available in a wide range of sizes to fit any dragonets that are volunteered. More failures may be expected to find adequate tail-spades for the curtain-ring, so a generous supply of the selected studs will be provided as well. Ear piercings are reduced - two fewer along the top spar, and only one bell on the bottom spar. In addition, like last year, our Fawns will receive the same Jellybeans as Reindeer, to ensure clean healing, post-operative comfort, and a seamless transition from natural hormones to synthetic anabolics, as well as the usual training-aid compounds. The baseline hormone levels provided by the Jellybeans will be reduced as necessary to avoid unexpected hormone spikes after implantation. We can confirm that Fawns will also be receiving the improved Jellybeans this year, and that the new implants have been tested as safe in all dragonets. Please allow an additional 4-6 weeks beyond the previously estimated cutoff for the effects to fade fully. It is considered unhealthy to remove such an implant once placed - we request your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience that may occur.
Their uniform departs, there - their primary garment will consist of a long, flowing cape adequate to serve as a blanket for the Fawn, as well as to share warmth with passengers - they will be lapdragons, in the most literal way possible. This is somewhat of a departure compared to last year's Fawns program, in which body modifications were toned down significantly when compared with our Reindeer. This time, our Fawns will have pride of place alongside our Reindeer in the sleighs.",
