She took the fox's paw in hers, smiling to him reassuringly as she disinfected the back of it.\n\n\"This will make the nightmares go away?\" The fox nearly whispered to his caretaker, looking very unsure of himself and the situation he found himself in.\n\n\"Yes dearie. This will give you some relief, poor thing.\" The fox winced, then smiled a little at the nurse for distracting him long enough not to notice the needle.\n\n\"This will give me some relief,\" he repeated in his head, as the cool fluid flowed up his arm.\n\nThe fox looked around the room while the nurse tended to him further. A clean countertop and cabinet with medical supplies, a table with some babyish toys in the middle of the room, and the ever-present surveillance camera in a far corner was all he could see. He wondered why the camera was necessary here if he was just getting his medicine.\n\nThe IV bag bubbled a little. He suddenly shuddered and lost his train of thought. Looking at the mirror to his side, he watched as the fox in the reflection squatted a little, and his diaper changed colour.\n\n\"Never mind, dearie. That's perfectly normal with this treatment. That's why we put you in your comfy diaper, y'see?\" The nurse reassured him, but it only made the incontinent teen realize that he was in fact watching himself. He blushed and folded his ears back, nibbling on the tip of his thumb. The nurse released his other paw. \"There we go. All done. Now you be a good boy and stay next to your medicine here, okay? I'll move it to the table with all these lovely toys so you can play while you wait.\"\n\nHe glanced at the table again, seeing the colourful blocks and toy trains that looked so childish in the middle of the stark, unfriendly room.\n\nThe IV bag bubbled again, and with another shudder the fox's eyes glazed over. He reached for a block and started to play.\n\n\"What a good little kit.\" The nurse turned to leave the room, leaving him alone to distract himself from the cold room and his warm diaper.\n\nSeveral moments later, another shudder broke him out of his dazed reverie. His tummy felt funny, and he was confused. What was he doing just now? A slight panic built in his chest. He wasn't supposed to be acting this way. His tail flicked as he let out a noisy fart that echoed in the room.\n\nThe IV bag bubbled. His belly cramped. He bent over and whimpered for a moment, stifled by a soft grunt.
