"description": "DON'T COMMENT HERE!! SIGN UP at the bottom of this submission information\n\nBelow is the Fine Print for the Tournament. Please read them before you sign up! Not reading them is not an excuse later on! You don't want angry tigers!\n=======================================\nFINE PRINT!\n\n\nWhat it is:\n---------------\nThe Charn Writing Challenge is a tournament style writing challenge, best described as a cross between the Amazing Race and Deathrace 2000. It is absolutely free for anyone willing and able to join, with a cash prize of $100.00USD awarded to the last-man-standing, through paypal. This is a literary tournament based on Skill, not chance. \n\n\nRestrictions to Play:\n-----------------------\nContent involved in this contest are very likely to be adult in both a violent and sexual nature.\nBy signing up, you confirm that you are of legal age to participate, and that participating is legal in your locality. You, the participant, are solely responsible for obeying any and all laws of the state, province and/or country in which you reside and which you access the internet from. \nYou agree that nobody and nothing other than yourself can be held liable, if laws applicable to you restrict or prohibit your participation. \nParticipants must be unique, natural individuals signing up with email adresess assigned to them. Individuals only - no team or multiplayer applicants will be allowed. By signing up you agree to follow all rules, current and future, and agree to respect any decisions made in game by Charn or similarly appointed host.\n\n\n\nHow it works:\n----------------------\nHave you ever played chess? If so, then you know that the board is filled with a bunch of pieces, and all of them are expendable but one - your King. You can do a lot with the pieces but you want to keep your king safe. The set up for the challenge is very similar. Each contestant is assigned their own 'king piece' in the form of a semi-randomly generated character 'avatar'. These avatars are all going to be made and copyrighted by Charn, for total and complete use by the players in any way they want. This ensures a seperation from the normal personal investment people have for their own self-created characters and ensures the anonymity of the authors. \n\nEach round, the avatars will be randomly assigned into groups. A writing period will commence of a set number of days (most likely 7, but potentially only 6), in which contestants will have the oppurtunity to try and eliminate a rival avatar in their group. This can be done by writing a story about one of the other avatars in your group being castrated. The hows, whos and whys of the castration are left to the author's discretion, that is to say, you can do whatever else you want to the avatar, but for it to count as an elimination it must include castration. Each group's entries are gathered, evaluated, and the one deemed best is made 'canon'. Canon entries are posted, and the avatar castrated in the story is removed from the game. By extension, the contestant assigned to that avatar is also eliminated from the competition. Non-winning entries will be discarded until after the contest is over. After each round, avatars will be reshuffled into a new group. Except for the final round, no contestant will ever compete directly against any other contestant more than once. \n\nContestants are not required to use the avatars assigned to them in this contest. However, they are allowed to. They are also allowed to use any other avatars in their 'cluster', which is a couple groups near enough each other to be useable to each other, as well as a collection of stock characters provided by the Host. \n\n\nThere will be six and only six rounds, with one winner at the end, who will receive $100 USD, payable through PayPal. (If receiving PayPal payments is an issue, and you can't find someone you trust to help you out, I will consider paying for $100 USD worth of comissions from an artist instead for you.)\n\nIn the event that an entire group of contestants do not participate, guest writers may be invited to write a story about someone in the group, or Charn may do so himself. \n\n\nJudging:\n------------\nSubject to change based on circumstances, of course. \nJudging will be done privately by judges chosen by Charn and asked to join to judge. Judging will be based on three grand aspects - \n\tA) Readability - Correct punctuation, spelling, syntax, and grammar.\n\tB) Style - Is the short story complete? Does one sentence flow into the next? Does it make you want to read more? Can you see the author's \"voice\"?\n\tC) Theme- Does the author follow the spirit of the game? Is someone eliminated clearly? Does it follow stories already established as canon? Is it followable as a story by another author?\n\nThere may be a round where eliminated contestants can participate in the Judging process. If so, the rules will be clearly defined at that time. \n\n\nPrivacy Issues:\n--------------------\nPrivacy will be very strictly respected and guarded throughout the tournament. Contestants will not be identified at all throughout the process, in the signup, elimination, or character display stage. Emails will be sent out using the BCC feature to avoid dissemination of public identities. In short, there will be no easy way for someone to see whether any particular author is competing or not, short of analyzing the various entries' writing style. Winners and losers will only be referred to, publicly, by their Avatar. \n\nWinning entries for each round will be compiled and posted as 'chapters' under the charnival account. After being eliminated (or winning), if a contestant would like to be identified as one of the writers involved, they can be, and contestants can of course also post anything they have written to their own accounts.\n\nCredit for writing will never be taken from the writers, but privacy will be respected until otherwise requested, in short.\n\n=======================\n\nWANNA SIGN UP?\nCLICK HERE!\nNote: The signing up process involves a quick story, or 'snippet' about the castration of this raccoon named Jimmy here. You may want to write that first! Go crazy, have fun, do whatever you want with him, but make sure it involves him losing his nads in some way. You can kill or maim or snuggle him up too. Use your own characters if you want or have him do it to himself. It's just to prove that you can write. :) \n\nJimmy here is (c) me and is created by :iconBeachfox:, an awesome artist.\n\n",
