"The world we come from has run out of carrots," said the clouded leopard. "We heard that this world, your world, has the biggest, meatiest carrots. We request your permission to take some of them."
The horse laughed. "Carrots?" He spread his legs, taking a bolder stance, and lifted the sword, ready to slash. "We have no carrots for Your kind. Go back to where you came from!"
The one with the gloves smiled widely, and the one with the puffy coat reached inside one of the pockets.
"That's some nice armor you're wearing," the tiger said, as the other pulled out what looked to the roman gladiator to be a large black legless beetle. "Did you make it yourself?"
"No! It was forged by the best ironsmith in town, on account of me winning so many gladiatorial fights single handedly. I have struck down-"
"Blah blah blah, okay Sharako, fry him." the tiger said, and the clouded leopard lifted his hand, pointing the strange beetle at that.
