Every 3 months the cell hatches opens and the prisoner is lifted for both a check up and a clean up.
If the prisoner behaves and pleads well enough the next time the cell is open, they may be offered to be let out to become buyable toys.
This however is a rare case since most prisoners tend to trash around, let out muffled screams, cry, huff around squirming and just outright ignore their captor instead of showing good behaviour, so they're lowered in most of the time.

Both the current Prisoners lifted for a check up aren't the first additions to the place nor the last, one of them has failed multiple check ups as well while the other has been trough less.
Forced to endure their current tortures, they were left dangling for an hour with the order of staying still while their captor was away, twitching from the strong jolts was allowed though but no more than that and the muffles had to be near silent.
Resisting the zaps should be easy since elecricity is not very effective to both of the Pokes, that if it wasn't for the cream rubbed in them, with that it felt like harsh pinch with each discharge.

Eventually, one of the critters couldn't take more and they'd start swinging and squirming while the other couldn't help but close their eyes, hoping that the hour was almost over.
