Can I draw you??\"\n\nThus began my adoration and obsession with Mark and his various characters, artwork and fascinating history.\n\nThe weird way our friendship ended: My family had always told me I was half native american and I even had a tribal ID card for the Apache tribe.\n\nSo that's what I told Mark, and he thought that was interesting and exotic.\n\nWell, eventually I did some research on my own including a blood test and associated genetic research and found out that I am 0% native american; that I am in fact 100% endo-european.\n\nSo I had to tell Mark that I'm actually just 100% white guy. We sort of lost touch after that. It sucks, but really what can you do when someone's whole understanding of who you are is torn away?\n\nI miss spending time with him at cons but really I can't blame him. I felt alienated when I found out I didn't have the heritage I was raised to believe I had.
