The Rexen had been in his room, pacing. His white feathers glistening from the sunlight, but the shadowy blackness at their tips seeming to eat all light around them. He stood around six feet, covered from head to talon in white feathers. His dragon-like snout had a symbol resembling a backwards S in the same light-eating blackness that his feather-tips adorned. Tempus had been gone for months, disappeared without a trace on his fourteenth birthday. Vitae was breathing down his back with prophecies of how he would end all life in the universe, and how Tempus would stop time. The Rexen was just a tool to Vitae, and it was becoming clearer with every passing day. Something had to change. The silence was broken when his door swung open quickly. He stopped in place and stared at the visitor. The visitor was an odd creature, but its species had been seen around the pharaoh Vitae in the last few years, whispering their orders to him. The true rulers of Gaia, and the universe. It stood around three feet tall, unless you had counted its ears, putting it just over four feet. Its ears were similar to that of a rabbits, but with more of a squared out tip, as well as being covered completely in soft feathers, much like the rest of the creature. Its beak had two downward points like teeth on each side, and was a sleek black, contrasted against the pale, near white, purple of the feathers on its face, which had grown to a darker purple to the tips of its crest-feathers and ears. Around its neck was a heavy fluffy feather-mane, in the same dark purple as the tips of its ears. The body of the creature was slender and white feathered, a long bushy tail dragging on the floor behind it, four arcs of neon velvet light orbiting the tail-tip. Much like the ears, the tails color gradually got darker to the tip, which was also the case for both its arms and legs and any protruding clusters of feathers. The legs feathers, although, ended around the creatures shins, followed by sleek black talons much like a birds. With a sigh, it raised its arm-like wing to its face and adjusted the scanner it wore over one eye with two feathers that seemed to behave similar to fingers. It had four of these on the end of each wing, suggesting that it had only 3 fingers and a thumb. The most curious of its features though, was its eyes. Completely black, but when the creature showed an interest in something, they would glow a strong purple. "Fei" it spoke softly, in a voice that could not be identified between either a female or a male. "Well, are you going to stand there and stare at me, or get me some clothes?" The Rexen jumped slightly in embarrassment, having not realized he had been staring at them for so long. "Sorry! Just...Uh..." He mumbled as he opened his wardrobe and looked for a suitable outfit, tossing a pair of cargo shorts and a sleeveless shirt on the bed before turning to the window. "There you go...I can't do this anymore Kyla. Are we ready yet?" Kyla let out a sigh and shook their head after pulling the shirt on. "Not yet Fei. You know I want to move just as badly as you. The Velas keep treating me like I'm some kind of slave just because I'm sixteen. I'm no different than any of them!" Fei turned around and looked at the dressed, and still slightly wet, Velas annoyed. "How long then?! We keep putting all of this off, passing up every opportunity we are given! We already lost the chance to take Tempus out! He may have done so himself, but we have no way of knowing. It's time for Vitae Finis' prophecy to come true. Its time for the end of his life. There is a small window of time tomorrow, where we can handle everything. Vitae is having a banquet to mark the...whatever-eth year since your people came here. They will all be present. I can turn the Velas against eachother and have Vitae killed, if you get into their ship take down their systems so I can get to their minds." He turned back around and leaned out the window, taking a deep breath as he watched two humans admire the setting sun as they embraced eachother. "Come here." Kyla approached the window, nothing more than a hole in the wall, climbing up and sitting on the base with their legs hanging down. "Whats up? You wanna show me something? Or did you just want to watch the sunset together?" Fei let out a small chuckle and shook his head. "Those two. See how in love they are? Its...Pathetic." He stood up straight with an evil grin as the human male suddenly, in one quick swift motion, snapped the females neck. Kyla winced and shook their head. He enjoyed watching the humans kill eachother, but he was never prepared for it happening. "Gods damn Fei...Why do you bother messing with random human slaves?" They asked as the man suddenly broke down sobbing and clutching his wifes body. "Just, put him out of his misery at least. That sobbing is the most annoying noise." Fei let out a laugh and patted Kyla on the head. "I do it because its fun. Nothing more." he answered while walking to his bed, as the man took a step off the ledge of the temple. Kyla hopped back into the room and made their way to the cot they had laid out on Feis floor. ~~~ Kyla awoke the next morning on their small cot on the floor, and stood with a yawn. The sun was already out, as was Fei. They rubbed their eyes and started to leave the room in search of Fei, before remembering the plans the two of them made...And more specifically, the plan of their own. "I'm sorry about today Fei..." Fei walked to the throne room, taking his place next to Vitae Finis, and looking out as the human slaves labored to turn the throne room into a banquet hall and prepare a feast fit for the gods. He jumped as the boisterous laugh broke the bustling sounds of the humans work and looked down at the pharaoh with a sigh. "Isn't today wonderful?! The Velas have really changed our lives for the better! These humans don't even complain anymore!" The pharaoh slapped his knee and watched as the humans worked, thick metal collars around their necks, before he turned to Fei. "And just think of what you will be able to do once they implant some of these chips in you! You'll be unstoppable! Haha!" The Rexens eyes went wide as he froze in place. "Put...chips...in me?" He said through clenched teeth, angrily. "You are going to let them just cut me open and experiment, and you didnt even think to ask me?!" he shouted, turning to face Vitae. "Well of course! I need you to be above peak performance if you are going to fill my prophecy! Don't worry about it, I'm sure they have worked with your kind before!" Fei let out a heavy sigh and turned away. Of course the Velas worked with his kind before, that would make total sense. Considering that he was the only Rexen in existence for another thousand years! "Your prophecy will come true sooner than you expect" he said quietly, adding through gritted teeth "Father." Kyla had made their way to the Velas' main craft, a beast of a warship known as the Thray. The best warship the Velas, who were easily the most advanced race in the known universe, had to offer. "Don't worry Fei...The signal will stop blocking their minds from you...But I can't risk you turning me too." Boarding the ship, they began checking to make sure no Velas were still present on the craft. Fei had returned to his room to wake Kyla, but had found only an empty room. "Looks like that kid is already at work then...I'm sorry it has to be this way Kyla." He grinned and approached the window, looking out. "I cant have any loose ends, after all." Vitae clapped happily as the Velas all gathered in the throne room, many dressed in robes, and took their seats. Fei stood leaning against one of the doors and grinned. He could feel their minds. Hear their secrets. He saw their home, and their colonies. Kyla must have accomplished their part of the mission. He reached out to the younger Velas, but couldn't find them anywhere. Kyla sat in the bridge of the ship, hovering over the blue planet, tears in their eyes as they plotted a course to Velasia. The Thray had less fuel than was required for a gate-jump straight there, so they would be forced to take the long way around. Luckily, the ship was equipped with programmable stasis pods, and the systems were completely capable of running the ship on long trips with no checkups required. "Again...I'm sorry Fei." They finished inputting the course, and made their way to the stasis pods. Fei was enraged, and as planned, had taken that rage out through the minds of the Velas. The tables, the floors, the benches were all strewn with bodies and soaked with blood as Fei made his way to the pharaoh, those that came nearest to him instantly dropping to their knees as blood flowed from their eyes, noses, and ears, until they slumped down to nothing more than heaps of meat. He chose not to affect Vitaes mind, but rather his body, allowing the pharaoh to cower in absolute terror as his throne room was turned into a bloodbath, but not allowing him to move. As he reached the pharaoh, he grabbed the jackals throat and pinned him against the chair. "Why are you so scared, father? Isnt this what you wanted? Your 'Prophecy'?" He tightened his grip on the jackals throat even more. "Aren't you the one to bring the end of life? Vitae Finis?!" he shouted as his grip tightened, snapping the bones in Vitaes neck. “You bought me...So looks like you’ve won.” the Rexen trailed off, letting the pharaohs limp body drop to the ground. "I will find you Kyla. You can't hide forever."
