Like I said, there are things out there who want to destroy us. I want to protect you from those things. Everything I do, it's not just for me. Ferros: [Confused, scared, but also shocked] Y-yes, Master?

Nuke: You took entirely the wrong meaning.

Ferros: <Grunts as if he is about to speak>

Nuke: No, shut up and listen to me. Really listen, Ferros.

Ferros: <Tiny confirmation noise>

Nuke: I didn't tell you that story to frighten you.

Ferros: [Confused] But--

Nuke: [Interrupt] I don't understand what scares people and what doesn't. I told you that story because I wanted you to know something important. /Very/ important.

Ferros: Master? Are you... crying?

Nuke: I'm in love with you, Ferros.

Ferros: [Flat surprise] ...wat?

Nuke: I told you that story because I wanted you to know how much you mean to me.

Ferros: [Very confused, disbelieving, a little bashful] ...nooooo. You don't love me!

Nuke: I do. I told you that story because if you ever really succeed in betraying me, it's because I know you really, really don't love me back. You would have to be really focused to do that, Ferros. You'd have to be determined. You'd have to hate me. I can't handle that, Ferros. I can't handle the idea of you hating me.

Nuke: That is the farthest thing from the truth. I love you, Ferros. I want to be with you forever. You're mine... <Clears his throat> I would do those things to force you to love me, by comparison with what you'd been through. As punishment for hating me so much.

Nuke: We're both very young, for immortals... but even living forever, life is too short. Like I said, there are things out there who want to destroy us. I want to protect you from those things. Everything I do, it's not just for me. It's for /us./

Nuke: I don't know if I'll ever be what I was again, but I want to be more than this. Ferros: [A little relieved] Oh, good!

Nuke: Master.

Ferros: Oh, that's my latest invention, Master! I /really/ wanted to make sure you couldn't get out. It's a comibination carbon and Adamantite alloy, reinforced with magnetic fields! This whole wall is made of the stuff! Since we're undergound, you'd have to dig your way out one of the other walls to the surface! Plenty of time for me to get away.

Nuke: Well, consider me impressed. This might actually be useful for something.

Ferros: I know!

Nuke: We'll just ask Fluke to let us out. Fluke?

[Knocking on door]

Ferros: Hey, Fluke! You can let us out, now!

Nuke: Fluke!

Ferros: Come on, we're ready to come out, now!

Nuke: Fluke, open this door right now, young man!

Ferros: Yeah, before Nuke gets mad and decides to kill me again!

Nuke: I don't--never mind. FLUKE!

Nuke: [Shaking, distorted, scary yell] FLUKE!

Ferros: ACK! Master, I think you popped my eardrum!

Nuke: [Shaking, distorted, scary yell] FLUKE, GET IN HERE, NOW!

Ferros: MASTER, PLEASE YOU SAID YOU WOULDN'T KILL ME. Oh god, I'm bleeding from everywhere!!
