I expressed how much I really liked the image, but, at the time, discovered it was highly unlikely I'd see the image colored given he, at the time, stated the colored version, if done, would be something for his Patreon followers. At the time, I was against the idea of using Patreon for things like that (though I've long since changed my mind), so I let it go.I came back to the pic in 2018, curious to know if it did, in fact, get colored. I was told it had not. I mentioned I considered coloring it myself, but decided against it at the time, because I didn't think I'd make it look good.
Then came late last year. I came across it yet again, and finally decided, since it still had not been colored, to give it a go, because I could no longer stand to see it not colored, due to how much I loved the image.
I spent several hours each day for nearly a week before I had what I felt was a good final image. Didn't do a background, because I suck at doing them. For some reason, despite having done it, I completely spaced on showing the artist the final product of my work, so it sat in an art folder forgotten, until a couple days ago, when I came across it again, and suddenly remembered "I haven't shown this to him yet", so I sent him a note with a link to the picture included. He really liked what I did.
