I was walking home from therapy, looking for new routes to make the journey quicker in future (partly from curiosity, but mostly from laziness) when I found this weird bush that grew its branches in strange shapes. Parts of the bush had gotten entangled in a wrought iron fence and, where it had, it simply continued growing *around* the fence in an organic corkscrew. Someone had recently trimmed away the dead wood, but left the pieces behind on the fence. \n\nThis is the piece I managed to wrestle free, suddenly struck with the idea to do woodworking (for, like, the second time *ever* in my entire life?). I sat in the living room, whittling with a kitchen knife and a terrible vegetable peeler, before asking if anyone actually *owned* sandpaper...I was gifted some by the lovely RiverbirdAlpha , but it turns out that, whatever wood that bush was made of, you can't sand it (or, at least, *I* can't) for crap.\n\nThen wood varnish turned out to be surprisingly expensive, which, you know, was only really a surprise to your's truly. Luckily, my friend Rhapsdy informed me that cheap glue would do just as well.  This is a mixed medium affair-- pens, sharpies, glue and a gold paint for the inner core.  \n\nI think it turned out alright! What say you?\n\nLike what I do and want to support me?
