Nicole’s scans had picked up the energy of a Chaos emerald while the rest of the team was away on a mission fighting Robotnik. My scans indicate a faint energy signature matching that of a Chaos Emerald, originating from within the walls of this cave.” Nicole’s voice spoke from her handheld. Activating her flashlight so Sally could see where she was going. Aiming Nicole around the Cave Sally sighed. This place was dark and damp, and the sound of water dripping from the rocks was quite evident. Making her way in deeper Sally flinched every time a drop of water landed on her shoulders.\n\nAfter a few more moments of walking the sound of her boots splashing in water became apparent and while it was only a few puddles at first Sally began to notice a small film of water coat the bottom of the cave. As the twists and turns of the cave got more and more erratic, Sally stopped feeling a drop off under the ankle deep water.\n\n“Nicole how far away from the Emerald are we right now?” She asked peering down into the pitch black water, the cold seeping into her boots. \n“Not sure Sally. The systems caves are messing with my sensors making it impossible to tell. We could be five feet or five hundred feet.” Nicole replied, then after a few seconds her lynx figure appearing on the screen. “Sorry Sally. Afraid the geological formations are playing havoc. I can create a map as we go along but besides that afraid I’m not much use.” \nSighing again she nodded before holding her breath and jumping into the water. Using Nicole’s flashlight she made her way under the water and looked to continue the tunnel. She held her breath for as long as she could before finding a small opening and squeezing through it and swimming up as fast as she could. Breaching the surface she gasped for breath. She crawled up onto the cave floor, and lay on her back, the water running off her body as she brought her hand to her face wiping her eyes. \n\n“*cough* N-Nicole, please tell me you picked up some more readings of the emerald.” She spoke through panted breathing. Making her way to her feet again, the squirrel paused to take off her vest and wring it out as best she could. Placing the handheld on the ground she took off her boots and dumped the water out of them as well.\n“Sorry Sally, still don’t have anything, but I am picking up some odd readings up ahead.” Nicole replied before being picked up again.\n\n“What kind of readings Nicole?” Sally asked continuing on, trying her best to press the water out of her fur which fully exposed every curve of her figure now, even the cold water had had the usual effect on her chest as her cherries stuck out a bit from under her fur. \n\n“Organic ones Sally, and by my scans quite a bit of organic life, but no heat signatures so only plant life.”\n\nWith a small nod Sally pocketed Nicole in her vest when she seen light being emitted from up ahead. The ground was covered in a red grass that illuminated her feet, and along the ceiling, yellow flowers hug above like lamps. Glowing mushrooms were dotted along the ground and walls, as well as even larger ones that emitted a faint white glow. As they headed forward the cavern opened up even more and in the center of it all was a large blue tree, vines draped from its branches and stretching along the entire cavern roof as well as its roots snaking their way along the floor and in the center of its branches rested the red chaos emerald.\n\n“Nicole you can stop scanning for the emerald. I found it.” She smiled as she quickened her pace rushing to the big tree. Wasting no time she hopped up a mushroom and used it to gain a bit of height to one of the upper branches. As she pulled herself up, she felt her boot snag on a vine. Thinking nothing of it she pulled it free before making her way up higher into the tree.\n\nThe higher she made her way up the tree the more she seemed to get herself caught or tangled in the vines. One she reached the top, there was a small clearing of branches making a small platform on the top of the tree, which itself was covered in vines, draped down from the upper canopy, with the Emerald rested on the edge.\n\n“Sally, I’m getting some more readings. I think we should hurry out here as fast as possible.” Nicole spoke with a worried tone to her voice. \n\n“One sec Nicole, I’ve almost got the Emerald. Can’t leave without it, and we did venture all the way down here just for it.” Sally grunted as she reached out for the red gem, her tail shaking slightly as she tugged gently on a vine to make sure it was secure before using it to reach out to the goal of this exploration. As her fingers grasped onto it she grabbed it firmly and leaned back putting it in her vest. “There, now we can go.” She smiled in delight before feeling something on her wrist.\nThe vine itself had ensnared her wrist and no matter how hard she tugged it just wouldn’t come free. Reaching her other hand around to try and unwind the glowing blue vine from her wrist she felt her other wrist being tugged on. No sooner had both her wrists become tangles Sally tried to make a dash for the edge to get away but tripped and ended up suspended by her wrists. Looking down she seen her legs had become entangled as well. \n\n“Nicole, call for help!” Sally shouted as she found herself hoisted upside down, the handheld falling out of her pocket as well as the Chaos Emerald.\n\n“I can’t Sally, we’re too far underground and any signal I send out gets reverberated back.
