"description": "So, I went out with a friend yesterday to see the Spongebob Movie: Sponge out of water movie and I have to say, I was rather surprised by how good it was, it was a return to what made SpongeBob so great. but enough about that, let's talk about the movie.\n\nStory: This Live action pirate named Burger Beard steals this book from an island that can change the outcome of real life to steal the Krabby Patty Formula (which we still don't know what it is XD ) to sell his ouwn food. so its up to Spongebob and his friends to go after it and restore Bikini Bottom from an apocaliptic crisis. The story doesn't really have the stregnth of the first film when it comes to its engaging story, but its still rather enjoyable. \n\nCharacters: whats to say about the characters, everyone knows about them, but I suppose all you need to know is that Burger Beard (Antonio Banderas) steals the formula to sell Krabby Patties on land, but their really isnt a main purpose to it other then to rack in money I suppose. Then you got the cast like Spongebob (Tom Kenny) Patrick (Bill Faggerbake) Squidward (Roger Bumpass) Mr. Krabs (Clancy Brown) Sandy (Cayorline Lawrance) and Plankton (Mr. Lawrence) all go after him to reclaim it back. The voice acting is all top notch and the characters are all in character. Their is no Mr. Krabs being cheap that its unlikable, no Spongebob being dumbly clueless, no Patrick being a prick (except in two scenes but they make sence, kind of) no Squidward Torture Porn, or no Sandy being all gawky over technology. and also, Antonio does his acting rather good too, theirs great interacting between him and the animated characters.\n\nAnimation: Now, this was what began to bother me before the trailers. They were jumping on the bandwagon with turning cartoon characters into CGI characters which is the typical Hollywood formula that drives me up a wall, but once the trailers started coming out, I warmed up to it cause the animation is well done to the point where the characters don't look at all different from the traditional counterparts. speaking of traditional, THANK GOD!!! about 75 percent of the film was done with Traditional animation. seriously, why is it so hard for anyone to do traditional animation in a feature legnth movie nowadays? Anyway, the traditional animation is very well done, nicely, colored, and has a much more detailed touch to it since shows are more on a budget. all in all, this is a nicely animated film.\n\nMusic: The music for the most part gets its job done. scores for action scenes, sad scenes, and scenes that are just plane weird, but they fit the spongebob universe quite good. Its no surprise that John Debney (Cutthroat Island, Passion of the Christ) was able to nick the style of the show with his own twist that gives the movie the right push it needs for its story telling and action sequences.\n\nNow for the score of this film, I would have to give it a 7.5 out of 10. Why this much you may ask. Well, let's just say that this movie didn't deliver on what we were promised in the trailers or in the movie itself. Like I mentioned before, the CGI comes near the end of the film, so the name of the film is a little inacurate, their was a scene in the trailer which shows Sting, but it was deleted (such a waste) and the scene where Squidward gets tangled in a pair of Soda can rings vanished as well. what the heck. this is the same kind of shit that Nickalodian has been pulling for years even in their ratings trap episodes. it pisses me off and has got to stop immediatly. \n\nOther then those flaws, the film is still enjoyable for what it does. Now, is it better then last Febuarys the Lego Movie? Nope, not even close. the humor is good, but Lego manages to pull off some splendid humor that works for the movie, and the animation is far superior when it comes to CGI",
